@@AndrewMurphyFilms im planning to buy the FS 200 or 300. the light panel itself look like many small cob chips placed together. how is it different from the regular cob lights. any thoghts?
@@AndrewMurphyFilms I think that the design itself is to compensate for the smaller output of the individual cobs so they put as many as they could on. From what I gathered from their website, it’s about 6000 lumens dimmer than the forza 300. I still think I’m gonna sell my forza and get 2 of these and some extra stuff and just bump the iso a stop if needed. I don’t use v-mounts on the forza ‘cause I don’t have the budget to spend 1k on batteries for it to run 2 hours...
Thanks mate 🙏 It’s a good place to start. I did that as well (still do to be honest) but it’s great to slowly start incorporating similar brands as they match a lot better 🎉
Curious why those two guys in the video were wearing mask when setting up lighting? Also are these lights more powerfull [brighter] than the Godox SL 60W? Hard to tell in the video. 100% is blinding
thank you for this. i am contemplating if i should get this or the expensive version which is a forza 150b (thaty is a bi color). i mostly do photography. u think i should get this instead of the forza one?
If you are going to use it mostly in a studio then the FS range is great. But if you want to use it on location as well, then you will need the Forza range.
How does the Nanlite FS series compare to the Amaran and Godox SL series (mainly the SL-150 II) in fan noise? I'm looking at the FS-200 and Amaran 200d, and while the FS is $20 cheaper, I'm not sure which has the quieter fan. Most reviews noted the Amaran 100d having a quiet fan, but the 200d not so despite having the AC brick separated from the body.
I haven't used the SL-150 unforunately but the fan on the FS series is hardly noticeable. Also can't speak for the Aputure range of lights either as again, haven't used them. I believe the FS series has a higher CRI than the aperture counterpart though...
Personally I would pay the extra $40 dollars or so and get the FS-150. It's 180W as oppose to 100W on the Amaran and the FS-150 has a higher CRI and TLCI
@@AndrewMurphyFilms Forza 60 is only 60 watts, so not very powerful lux output! Fs-150 is almost twice as much! But it's a softer light and sometimes I need a hard light! What I'm saying is how much soft it is(without any softbox)! Would you suggest to stick to Forza 60 or go for fs-150? Thx
Hi man, i've been thinking about buying this light, can you tell the information about the build material? Is it metal or plastic? Thanks Great review video btw :)
I didn’t even check. My 120d Original broke so I bought it as a replacement. The sound shocked me. Not horrible. But like a white noise machine. In a rush I bought an SL 60 the newer version I guess, and the sound is quieter on that
Unfortunately it costs about $400 in Israel. But nothing unexpected in a country in which everything mysteriously costs double what it does in other countries. Thanks for the review!
@@AndrewMurphyFilms We buy a lot of stuff from Aliexpress (random Chinese merchandise - although this light is Chinese too!). Unfortunately when you're looking at buying heavy and bulk things like lights it's not much help. Gotta keep saving!
Hope you don’t mind what I intend as purely a helpful suggestion? As a matter of interest other UA-camrs do an up-front disclaimer on whether they have received goods for free or not, & I think it would be good to state that at the start of your videos as well. No harm in stating that up-front as people respect such openness and can then make up their own minds on full disclosure. Many video-centric UA-camrs such as Gerald Undone & others do so regularly. Even if you haven’t received the goods for free, it is good to make the disclaimer as some will always suspect that it may be the case as the practice of giving free equipment to UA-camrs is widespread & common. Your reputation is everything online. Hope you find the suggestion helpful! Thanks for the review.
Glad you enjoyed the review :) I always make sure I add the card that says “includes paid promotion” when a brand sends a product for free. So keep an eye out for that in my videos

@Pau Mora Torrent Wicked option!

thank you. I was eagerly waiting for a review in English of the FS series

@@entalsahaalshifa3430 So apparently they designed it this way to create a softer light, since the light source is bigger.

Excellent review. I was waiting from last 3 months. I ordered the FS300
Thanks mate! Great choice! I'm probably gonna get an FS300 as well
It is OK for a 120cm softbox? As a main light?
Yeah works amazing!

Very similiar

does it work with the fresnel lens?
With nanlite's new fresnel yes it does :)

Can you adjust the power of the light through their app?
Once their app is release you'll be able to control everything

FS-150 is still a hard light without a modifier on it. But you are losing the ability to power it with batteries if you go down the FS line.
