I think I want to do exactly what you are doing; find something small, in need of renovation but livable, and go with it! Maybe a gite or AirBnB first, to get my footing. The kittens are back in England now. Sadly, Silver has vanished. We're hoping she's found somewhere quieter to live than with my daughter and her two girls.

Yes, we've been in France since before Brexit, so the process was much, much easier than it is now.
Have you thought about running lighting etc at 12v?
The house is currently wired for 12v lighting. Electricity will be covered in a future video, once we've worked out what to do with it.
Is that one of the cats from the château?
Yes, all three kittens are with us. Our replacements at the château decided they didn't want to look after them after all.
