Todds elbow is airborne, his upper arm is on the pad. @42 it's pointing straight into the refs face, then it slides sideways. Just started following the sport. I am more used to seeing the long-bearded michael todd, so wasn't really sure who john is fighting when i clicked on the video. 2 seconds into the match, and down he goes, right under the table. And i went - yep, this is todd alright.
Todd has no technique...he's basically sitting on the floor and straightening his arm out where it no longer becomes arm wrestling and in turn basically is tug of war. Honestly he does nothing for the sport but bring it a bad name.
Yeah and he puts the side of his arm on the pad and calls it his 'elbow.' When people see him, they think, "Now how is he going to try to win without actually armwrestling?" I wish he'd take up badminton.
0:36 The kings move is like a draining move but I like the way Johns not even straining, he aint playing Todds game, he's like if you wanna play silly bollocks here and hide under the table that's fine, Johns just preparing himself to take him out, no energy wasted, nice, the greatest.
John Brzenk is definitely the king of armwrestling.... Even though he does not win every single match and people are quick to bring up his losses to the eastern europeans he has has won way more matches then he has lost and the caliber of people he has beaten is amazing....I can't wait to seem him check Scott mendalsons ego.
Prime brzenk would have destroyed everyone even Prime denis or Prime Levan . U need to remember Brzenk’s losses only Happened when (1) he had already beaten an entire league of arm wrestlers and was tired (2) he was older than 40
I actually dont have a problem with the king's move, but.. just watch from 0:23 onwards.. that whole round, his elbow is never on the pad, it's pretty much his bicep, tricep, or his forearm. I just don't get how that is legal. Also, pretty sure your shoulder can't be lower than your elbow, but that is never enforced either.
Shoulder has to be above the table on the losing side. Many armwretlers go below the table on the pin, ala drag hook or certain toprolls. Some rule sets only give verbal warning but very few actually stop match or give fouls.
Great match. Some things to remember though. People enjoy John Brzenk beating Michael Todd, and compare it to these days. But that was a former version of Todd that hadn't yet updated his King's Move to it's current style, and he's also just way better now in general than he was back then. Also in John's own words (according to Neil Pickup), John thinks he wouldn't have beaten Michael that same day, if it was a best of 5 (it was a best of 3). But, still some good stuff right here.
@@misterringer - Well the other factor is that when Brzenk loses, often it wasn't a very motivated Brzenk. He was motivated when he was young and into his 30s, and then it tapered wayyy off and he lost interest, and semi-retired a bunch of times where he does no armwrestling at all, and that's when Pulling John happened and stuff, losing to Alexey (plus his arm was pretty beaten up from the prior match, but that's tournaments for ya). Also his 6-0 loss to Devon, he didn't have much time to prepare, and then it was postponed, and then it was in just 2 weeks once it was back on, and he wasn't very fresh and stuff. But a Brzenk that is prepared and properly interested, even with his shoulder and stuff, at any age, is probably not losing any of these matches. So I can also provide context for Brzenk, and ponder about slightly alternate timelines.
john was still in his prime here and that mean he was a total beast. he would easy win....just as he did there is a reason why he dominate for like 40 years. he beat everyone in his prime. in best of 5 too btw

WAL rules also state that the tip of the elbow must remain on top of the elbow pad, Todd consistantly breaks that rule. Most notably in his match with Larratt in WAL 406. At some points his whole tricep is resting flat on the table with his elbow against the side of the elbow pad.
Just watched this, he doesnt even have a chance if he does a normal armwrestle.
Yeah he is a bitch but it's the funniest shit to watch him hide under the table!!!
0:35 his entire elbow isn't even on the pad, just his interior bicep. Dumbest thing I've ever seen. JOHN GOAT
Whenever I watch MMT 'winning' a match I come back to this, thank you
Hey, remember that time Michael Todd tried to beat John in the hook? 🤣
Oooh I member

It's in this video stoopid

Every time I see Michael Todd arm wrestle I hope to see his arm snap right off his body
Yeah usually I wouldn't say such a thing BUT you're damn right, anyone who wants to voluntarily put their arm in a position where it's at high risk of breaking, go ahead and break that summbi#$%
@@ansarmahmood6283 I feel that's why he gets up just before losing. He knew he couldn't hold it anymore and got up to protect his arm. One day he won't be fast enough and then... SNAP
Fark, well you need to hope harder cos it hasn't happened yet.
@Puremuscles1
Yes it has sir and more than once..
It has, thats why he arm wrestles like that
"Where you going buddy" and "Stand up John" may be the 2 most badass statements I've ever hear on a table.
Brzenk the real king of armwrestling
Alongside with Devon.
Devon is 2nd
I think he is the Arnold of armwrestling...

Stand up like a man and armwrestle, todd.
@Voku Voku you are one G away of beeing awesome !!
@Voku check...mate...and the game sir!!
Oh god so satisfying to watch you never get tired of it
Todd is currently a world class cheater
They need to modify the rules, since Todd is trying to game them like a welfare cheat.
It pains me to say this, but he's not a cheater. It's kind of an honorless move, but it's completely legal. The rules should probably change.
His elbow is off the pad. It's to the side of it. That's the problem with the kingsmove. He uses his forearm as his base, not his elbow. The rules should require elbows down.
@@procarpenter1788 Shoulder has to be over the table

This dude is trying to hook the mighty john brzenk haha 😂

nah he tryed to press but john hooked him in the proces
This is the perfect match...everything in it...

They need to remove the “kings move” it’s not arm wrestling when your arm is strait out extended... it becomes a “can I pull this guys whole body weight with one arm contest” it’s a joke... ban the kings move! ✌🏻🇨🇦
I agree. Now I see Devon doing it. Thought I'd never see that...wtf is this sport coming too
@smalltownmoto Exactly, that's what I keep saying whenever I see this stupid move being used in a professional arm wrestling match. USE OF BODYROLL MUST BE BANNED, ONLY THE ARM SHOULD MOVE THEN IT IS ARM WRESTLING OTHERWISE IT'S NOT...!!!
Saeed Akhtar Awan that’s like saying headers should be banned in football you absolute donkey
@@atxconqueror6322 Armwrestling isn't like playing football you womp rat, can't you see that John totally destroyed Todd in this match despite the use of this stupid king's move....??? Haha keep posting jokes in the comment section butthurt dick move supporters...!!!
It should be banned. It does not meet the arm wrestling req. 1. Elbows not on pad. 2. This uses your entire weight. 3. Arm is straight. It needs to be recognized and banned.
I could watch this all day.
John says get his arm up. His damn elbow is literally off the pad the referee is clearly blind.
Todds elbow is airborne, his upper arm is on the pad. @42 it's pointing straight into the refs face, then it slides sideways. Why not put a pressure sensor into the bottom of a 3" wide 4" long trench so as the pressure comes off the table a light goes off indicating a FOUL. Fair for everyone, no reliance on fair judging then either.
@@hellsbarbells4219 it’s hard. I just checked my elbow and there are three pointy bits.. including one a lot to the side (on the inside) .
They’d need to define which of the bits count,
@@patinho5589 Agreed, maybe not pressure but a contact pad, electrical circuit, soon as the signal is lost an alarm sounds? Anode / cathode - elbow pad/ handle hold your connection to both completes the circuit?

Best video of Todd losing on YT - he throws a temper tantrum at the end LMFAO
Brzenk appropriately holds the greatest question ever posed to another arm wrestling competitor, "Where ya goin' buddy?"
This NEVER gets old!!!
I always come back to this, one of my favourite matches of all time
Just started following the sport. I am more used to seeing the long-bearded michael todd, so wasn't really sure who john is fighting when i clicked on the video.
2 seconds into the match, and down he goes, right under the table. And i went - yep, this is todd alright.
John Brzenk is a legend in armwrestling! Never gets under the table..
I spend evening after evening watching arm wrestling videos and I keep coming back to this one!!!😀
Where you going buddy?
Constant Chinner under the table
Dropped my phone dude. Hold on a second.
Is their anybody alive that even comes close to what Brzenk has done for this sport? Even past he’s prime he still difficult to beat.
Saw a video recently where Eric Spoto beats Larrat rather easily - so probably him, or the two hulks
He was unstoppable. Age beat him. Nobody.
"Where you going buddy?!" that was so cool
Todd has no technique...he's basically sitting on the floor and straightening his arm out where it no longer becomes arm wrestling and in turn basically is tug of war. Honestly he does nothing for the sport but bring it a bad name.
He's playing "can you break my arm or not".
As we saw right here, when it comes to his strength he totally fails.
it's actually a very hard move to master. Try it!
but well, it does indeed look like cheating
Yeah and he puts the side of his arm on the pad and calls it his 'elbow.' When people see him, they think, "Now how is he going to try to win without actually armwrestling?" I wish he'd take up badminton.
@@Feon2 its not hard if your arm cannot physically straighten like todds due to his skeletal structure
The moment Todd said you can't pin me you could see brzenk go full beast mode .
Old but still Gold , pure gold , love this video
0:36 The kings move is like a draining move but I like the way Johns not even straining, he aint playing Todds game, he's like if you wanna play silly bollocks here and hide under the table that's fine, Johns just preparing himself to take him out, no energy wasted, nice, the greatest.
Please relabel: Most satisfying video on UA-cam 😂

He still is in 2020
Don't forget to say hi Michael when you sit at a table.
Elbow is not even on the pad. That referee is blind
How is that move even remotely legal!? That’s like allowing a basketball player to run with the ball without dribbling and not calling a travel.
0:25 "Where are you going buddy?"
lol...where ya going buddy??
Love John's face in the thumbnail. Calm. Powerful. In control. Awesome watching Todd's King's move defeated!
while I understand there are lot of fans of Devon Laratt but man Brezenk is the GOAT enough said
John Brzenk is definitely the king of armwrestling....
U need to remember Brzenk’s losses only
Happened when
(1) he had already beaten an entire league of arm wrestlers and was tired
(2) he was older than 40
I actually dont have a problem with the king's move, but.. just watch from 0:23 onwards.. that whole round, his elbow is never on the pad, it's pretty much his bicep, tricep, or his forearm. I just don't get how that is legal. Also, pretty sure your shoulder can't be lower than your elbow, but that is never enforced either.
Best review 🎯
Shoulder has to be above the table on the losing side. Many armwretlers go below the table on the pin, ala drag hook or certain toprolls. Some rule sets only give verbal warning but very few actually stop match or give fouls.
It is impossible to pin without lifting elbow off the pad, when your bicep/tricep is that large. Same rule that allows that allows kings move.
Simple: MT is allowed to do that in WAL.
Cause Bart is a bozo.
John is always humble like that though.
True, Todd did improve after that. Regardless, 50 year old Brzenk was beating everyone and it was nuts.
So I can also provide context for Brzenk, and ponder about slightly alternate timelines.
john was still in his prime here and that mean he was a total beast. he would easy win....just as he did
there is a reason why he dominate for like 40 years. he beat everyone in his prime. in best of 5 too btw
After watching the recent Dveon Larrat match, this is so enjoyable to watch!! love it. John's a legend ''Where you going, buddy??!'' haha
