This is so horrible that it is fantastic. Seeing Paul Lynde disco dance with "Pinky Tuscadero" is jaw-droppingly bad then, suddenly Florence Henderson rushes into the scene to take it to another level! I guess the Landers Sisters and Madame (the puppet) weren't available to join into the merriment.
I read somewhere that Henderson came from a very, very financially poor background and that she would take practically all work offered to her. I guess she worked so hard to insure she was never poor again. Taking crap like this show is a prime example of this.
If the 1960s Batman show was a big explosion of camp, the "Paul Lynde Halloween Special" is like a 1970s camp atomic bomb. I have seen most of the program now, and I am just speechless. They should've let him do this every single year.
How much coke was snorted to make this seem like a great idea? Then again, it’s almost fifty years later and we are still talking about it so what do I know…
OMG ME TOO! Paul Lynde, Tim Conway & Betty White & their dance moves are the reason I'd go also I'd enjoy trying to be in the same room with the group trying to learn the steps for this song & trying not to pass out from the presence of 3 of my favorite celebrities!
@@Scottslaw this was the fourth time KISS was on TV and performed. They were on two shows in '74, and one in '75. When this show aired, they were finally taking off.
Florence Henderson, KISS, and a cover of Disco Baby by Pinky Tuscadero. I think I just hit the cheese jackpot 🧀🎰
Tim Conway and Billy Barty???
OMG!! The total jackpot!!! Love it. I'm sure this cast was lit!
I would take this entertainment over today’s entertainment anyday
It's like having a really bad acid trip. Or maybe it's like having an awesome acid trip.
Not to mention the original wicked witch of the West tossed in for good measure. Lol
KISS be like “A paychecks’s a paycheck yo!”
This is either their first or second appearance on TV
Here's something that's even worse - ua-cam.com/video/HSrRoQiKZKc/v-deo.html
That may describe every KISS appearance.
They would never.
🤣
Watching this video always transports me back to when I first saw it in The Fall of 1976.

100% camp
Billy Barty FTW!
Ahhhh Eugene I agree and your use of the word merriment is devine!
But the Wicked Witch of the West was Unmelted and joined in on the Fun
I cannot in my wildest dreams even imagine this . Whoever orchestrated this deserves an Emmy. 🤪
Disco dancing Billy Barty
Wtf did I just watch?!? I was alive in the 70's but none of it prepared me for this!
Shake it baby
Florence Henderson just having a great time and giving it her all is what makes this for me.
She Always did...
She had major WESSONALITY for sure🥰
I read somewhere that Henderson came from a very, very financially poor background and that she would take practically all work offered to her. I guess she worked so hard to insure she was never poor again. Taking crap like this show is a prime example of this.
Florence appeared in a lot of crap shoes.
Johnnie Taylor ain’t mane🙏🏾
The rehearsals must have been priceless.
Omg yes I wish I knew Paul in person so I could ask him so many questions. 😭 we can't tak to him
I would have loved to been at the rehearsals for this & actually the rest of the show! *drools* *PAUL LYNDE!*
Ah, I remember watching this on its original airing.
Great memories.
Thanks for posting.
The seventies?! What a glorious and unique time it was,too bad you can’t go back! Especially now, with everything gone crazy!
I’d go back in a second! 💃🏻🕺🏻😊
In a millisecond!
@@jackiescanlonI'd go back so fast,I would leave a cloud of dust.
The 70s sucked. This hellishness is proof.
Yeah this is pretty much the best thing I’ve ever seen
YES!
Who else is here because they just listened to Bruce Vilanch on Gilbert?
Exactly....
I just discovered that podcast. Great interview with Vilanch. So many good stories.

Yes would have become a holloween staple for many year's
Omg yes! I hate that he didn't have more specials.
I can't find his other specials this is the only one I can find besides his Christmas one
Im here because bob and tom hahaha
Me too!!!
Mister Fister!
Disco Baby!
I just watched this - I do it every Halloween 🎃
Same here!
Paul Lynde says "I like that funky stuff..." He sure did!
😊
By "that funky stuff" he evidently meant drugs
@@writinghourno.
@@writinghour his funky stuff was men.
If I was stoned and watched this, I would think I’m hallucinating, really!
At a certain point in time this was considered top tier entertainment. 😮
I like that funky stuff too Paul! Sidenote- Paul Lynde is from Mt Vernon, Ohio, which is close by.
Kiss anchored this. Back then, seeing bands on TV was very rare. Had they not been on that show, i doubt anyone would remember it
That was the reason why Dick Clark made American Bandstand
They opened up to new audiences with this special
Roots!
rrooooooooooooooossst!
So campy it’s ADDICTIVE!
Exfunkingactly! What beauty........actually gave me a little energy.
Trying doing a flash mob (for this song)
So campy you could toast marshmallows on it.
Simply the best Halloweeny production number EVEy ….
Take 2 …. EVER
EVER!
This is the only reason why I watch Halloween stuff. Technically this is the only good reason to watch anything for Halloween
That's Pinky Tuscadero, isn't it?? Haha!
Yep
Actually Roz Kelly, who played Pinky Tuscadero
How much coke was snorted to make this seem like a great idea? Then again, it’s almost fifty years later and we are still talking about it so what do I know…
Damn I want to be at this party 🎉
OMG ME TOO! Paul Lynde, Tim Conway & Betty White & their dance moves are the reason I'd go also I'd enjoy trying to be in the same room with the group trying to learn the steps for this song & trying not to pass out from the presence of 3 of my favorite celebrities!
damn I miss Paul.
Same!
OMG ME TOO! I WISH HE DIDN'T DIE SO YOUNG! I wish he could have made it to 100 😭
SAME
thanks Anthony Cumia and Gilbert Godfrey for this gem
I firmly believe that in 1969 Cocaine somehow developed sentience and then embarked on a two-decade career writing for television.
Johnny Taylor is rotating in his grave. The song is Disco Lady. This is heinous.
Who else is here just because they heard this on Bob and Tom?
Guilty!!!
YEP!
Mister Fister!
KISS maintaining kayfabe. Looking back, it was a good move. It would have destroyed them.
What executive green lighted this? Haha
That was the extent of her capitalizing on the Pinky Tuscadero character
🍬love this show.. 🎃
Kiss looks so bored.
HILARIOUSLY So...
But it was their first break
@@Scottslaw this was the fourth time KISS was on TV and performed.

I got this stuck in my head today. What can I say? It's 2020.
Omg was that witchipoo? What's my wife's sister doing in this video?
So bad you have to watch it several times. The guy working the laugh track put in some overtime.
Oh that’s precious!
Lol Paul "Bab eee"
Johnnie Taylor is rolling in his grave
Lol 😄
Here because of Matt Bume and rje Cinema Snob
Just bought the DVD. Saving it for Halloween
Where'd you find the dvd version!?
@@PaulLynde1926 I found one on EBay
The Boomers did so many more drugs than they ever take credit for.
Disco Bay beee
Great song
If Andy Kaufman could get a special, why not Paul Lynde?
Paul had other specials but this is the only one that's been released.
fever dream
God help us....
GOOD LORD!
A lot of blow and blows at the after party
Hello Steve ;)
The Junkman sent me here.
Just need the rest of the Brady bunch and of course Alice
Did KISS need rent money that month?
No, they’re just huge sellouts.
They might have. The band was just beginning to actually make money at the time, after having to help get Casablanca out of debt.
I bet he does like that funky stuff
What were they smoking or on when they made this?
Pinky was hot, but heard she was kicked off Happy Days because she was so difficult to work with.
NOT TILL YOU'RE 21!
KISS is PISSED.
me too
It's so cringy now but back then this kind of number was normal.
To steal a quote from MST3K - "I'll bet the phrase, 'Where's my cocaine?' was said a lot on this picture...".
😂😂😂😂😂
What is this the Hokey Pokey?
This is wonderfully horrible.
So awful that it's actually entertaining.
Who originally sung this?
I want to say Johnny Rivers, but not 100% certain
almost unwatchable
Johnny Taylor rip off lol
