MODDING PSA, PLEASE READ: I've been advised by multiple comments to recommend the COMMUNITY Starfield Patch instead of the unofficial one. Here's a link! creations.bethesda.net/en/starfield/details/a11a0cdf-5abb-4a59-9e12-e261e5aae8d5/Starfield_Community_Patch
The last time I tried to install mods through xbox I had a bug that when I installed a good amount of mods, activate, change the loading order, close and go back to Creation it kept showing Reload for a long time at the top of the screen. Preventing me from making any modifications to the loading order until the mod is disabled without uninstalling. For me to get rid of this problem, I had to delete the entire subdirectory of the mods in the storage settings.
Yeah, but why? Arthmoor have been sorting out hundreds of bugs in Bethesda's games since oblivion. I've got their patch for starfield now (as they're a name i trust having relied on their skyrim patch, & fo4) & everything's fine. Competition is great. But slandering someone's efforts without substantial reason sucks. I'd love to hear what Arthmoor has/have supposedly done wrong tbh.
@@TheRealSlimo ok so that tips the balance in favour of that particular mod being problematic, but then what about the countless other users who have had no such problems, such as myself? Tips the balance back the other way. What i object to is the "witch hunt" mentality which you can find everywhere on social media for just about every cause imaginable. It's why i ask for substantial reason. I've read about it on reddit & ok, people have personal beef with the lead guy, but that says nothing about the quality or functionality of his or his team's work. They have made some absolutely incredible mods for skyrim. Idgaf about the politics. Modding is far from an exact science & it is absolutely fraught with peril. You have millions of unskilled people using often hundreds of code-editing plugins, often not correctly ordered, often trying to edit the same piece of code. Many of them don't bother to read the mod's description/instructions. Most modders are self-taught amateur hobbyists, their work isn't subjected to testing before it's available to the public. End users are the testers. Both the unofficial patch & the community patch due to their vast scope, touch hundreds (thousands?) of pieces of code. It seems to me optimistic at best that someone running at least twenty or thirty mods (including the arthmoor patch) could pin the fault on that one mod, unless they uninstalled it & the problem immediately went away. How many have actually done this i wonder? Meanwhile there are still thousands of us out here running his mods with no issues. I think it's personal for some people, & they managed to "get the word out" & now it's a witch hunt. Reminds me of people wanting to tear down Emil Pagliarulo.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with Arthmoor's mods. Been using them for a decade. Ya, you might need a patch here or there but that's it. I'd trust his work over some rando any day.
Spectr, finally someone posts an intelligent mod list for Xbox users. There are a lot of UA-camrs that have tried to do this, but with trivial and rubbish offerings. Your suggestions, however, are a breath of fresh air. Thanks, man.
Spectr always did great mod lists for skyrim, & i think they were ps4 specific too? Not sure on that last part but he always dug up decent mods no-one else seemed to be covering.
Bought the game on release for my Series X but, it was also competing against Boulders Gate 3 (on my PS5). Played it - here and there - over the space of a few weeks and got bored (BG3 had killed Starfield for me). So, I unistalled it. Watching your mod video (excellent selection, incidentally) made me wipe the dust off my controller and fire up my Xbox. Thanks for your vid 👍
I HATE that non cheating mods turn off achievements on console just because they aren't blue checkmarked by Bethesda. Only thing really stopping me from messing with mods on console.
Are achievements really that big of a deal, though? If they are to you, I completely understand, but I would rather have the option to change things about the game that I don't like and makes me enjoy it more, than something that congratulates me when I do something. There are just too many things I want to change lol.
Achievements works on Xbox after mods uninstall. Enable all mods in creations menu, exit the game and close the game on Xbox dash with press start button on game and close, start game again and go creations menu, disable all mods, go game start screen and load your quicksave, choose current load without mods. And Achievements works again. Enjoy!
Hey just to note! I used Unofficial Starfield Patch and found out from multiple mod developers that it breaks mods, this mod makes other changes to meshes and can break whole saves, I have been suggested the Community Starfield patch, only fixes the bugs and doesn’t change other game files unnecessarily. Also once Bethesda fixes the known bug they remove it from their own patch. Works and does what it needs to!!
Arthmoor is known for making large changes to parts of the game that he feels don't make sense in vanilla, and yet his changes often make less sense than vanilla, as in Skyrim he for instance, changed the ore of an entire mine, breaking the lore of the game, because he felt that ore made no sense in that location. He does this with all of his unofficial patches, and people hate him for it. The same happened with Fallout 4s Unofficial Patch.
Can confirm. After removing the unofficial one, game wouldn’t let me port out of the area without it crashing and in a couple instances, straight up restarting my console (XBOX-S, don’t judge) and I get it’s not hard to make that little thing “squirrel!” Out sure, but I had to uninstall and reinstall the entire thing just to start a new game. Before it’d be the never ending pinwheel .. so, crashing borderline posessing bc I haven’t run into a game yet that’s made it hard reboot before or I can just watch the loading icon forever 🤷♂️. Tried removing reserved files and it did nothing to help, I’m not sure if it leaves a trace even after you delete it, like a false script waiting for the process to initiate and it takes the wheel into a ditch? Sorry I’m rambling. Had to uninstall, purge all SF stuff and basically reinstall it all over just now got it up and running again after a few hours…fun stuff
For anyone having issues with the Smarter space suite auto hide, you still have to go into your spacesuit in the inventory menu and choose to hide it in safe places, otherwise the mod won’t work.
Great list, I’m literally using all of these except for easier temples. I wonder if anyone can provide some assistance though. The smarter spacesuit mod seems to be working fine on my companions but doesn’t change my main characters gear, is that something I can fix? Also in regard to the hair and beard mod should I expect npc’s to utilize these hair/ beard styles or is it just for the main character? Any advice would be appreciated. Also I recommend the denser vegetation mod, it doesn’t seem to impact performance and looks pretty nice on planets with plant life.
