When you first here Geoff sing, it comes off as off-putting. He doesn't hit all the notes he aims for. But the more and more I listen to this performance, the more beautiful it is. Especially the end when his voice breaks as he moves the mic away slowly. Gorgeous.
He’s definitely not going for perfect. Still, every single live performance I’ve seen sounds incredible. His energy and raw emotion is unmatched. He is such a beautiful performer, when I see them live, I can only watch him, I even miss out on taking videos for myself, because he is all consuming, in the best way. Idk, thats worth more than a pitch perfect performance to me 🤷🏻♀️
What a incredible and beautiful performance. This is something that pop music will never be able to replicate, no fancy effects, no sugarcoating, just pure and honest emotion straight from the heart
So sick of reading what a terrible singer people think Geoff is. He sings with real emotion and isn't some generic singer trained to appeal to mindless mainstream music fans. Thursday will always be my favorite band and Geoff will always be my favorite vocalist.
That’s all good and well but I wonder if almost a decade later you can at least agree he’s not a very good singer technically speaking. I’m also a big Thursday fan!
@@FrankDavalos saw them live the other day. Totally different experience than watching a video. Like other people say it adds to the emotion. Thursdays energy/stage presence is something else
steps ascend to a loaded gun. the scent of matches hangs in the air (a lit one flickers out in a hearbeat). we don't want to see this: a flash of light that's letting go of an empty bullet case, by the time it hits the ground, he's out of reach. let go. the wolves are closing in. there's no room left to make amends. do you remember when we'd fly that kite so high? all the time we've wasted, spent fighting, will burn in the fire of our regrets all the time we've wasted, spent fighting, it's blood and it's running down the stairs. freeze the frame between the gun shot and the hole it makes. a spinning bullet waits in the middle. there's no way to stop it, it will surely hit the mark. you can try to understand but I'm giving up. the synapse fires, it's right in time. I'm giving up. this should always stay out of reach I ran down the stairs and into the garden, put both my hands into the soil. in the spring, you will bloom, like her heart, through the blouse, in the back of the ambulance, as it turned and turned in the streets (just one more turn won't you come back to me) as it turned on its red lights, you were turning into red roses but I'm not giving up

As he does in every single performance. I love Geoff Rickly and Thursday soooofaking much!

His voice is perfectly imperfect, raw emotion
It’s ok to admit bro jus can’t sing for shit😅

I am fucking musically enamored with this band. I was blown away the first time I heard them many years ago.

Come back every now and again

I finally saw this song live a few hours ago and it was amazing. I will never stop loving Thursday.
Some of my favorite drum playing in any song 👌🏽 Homeboy is fucking them skins up!!!
3:15 "THIS DRUMMER FUCKIN RULES"
Yep, Tucker kicks boat loads of ass.
the ending of this song is intense
My favorite song by them, it's cool to see them do it live, they didn't play it when I saw them in 04.

Hello from 2020
People have there own form if screaming and singing. Its not all about pop shit vocals.
Their songs remind me if my friend, he died in a car accident and we got into a fight before it happened(not fist fight):/
Skate and surf 2003
Unlike this song, Geoff’s voice is all about having no regrets. You must respect it.
Does anybody know where this show was played? I saw them in 2006/07 at the Orbit Room...kinda looks like that show. Can anyone confirm?
Cried
can anyone shed light or have takes on why it’s “‘her’ blouse in the back of the ambulance” ? is he referencing another event or just being poetic?
I hope Jonah is doing ok
Mad respect for Geoff and Thursday in general. These guys came from nothing.
You can tell her broke down right in the middle of the song.. he couldnt take it
He seems to have a lot of friends who killed themselves. Literally that's what he says every song is about.
Well they're from New Jersey so lol
