I brought my 23 y/o to Gambia with me for the first time in July. She was complaining that it was too long, that she'd never been on vacation for more than one week and that she would get bored. I was pretty sure she would like it more than she thought she would. I told her she would never get bored and that there was never going to be enough time to do everything she wanted to do. By the time we left, she had picked up a lot of local culture and language and made so many friends. She was asking if we could live there. I told her she had two more semesters in school and that she could make education and career choices to work remotely and live wherever in the world she wanted. She's been moping and missing Gambia ever since we've been back in the states. She mostly misses the freedom and the walkability and all her friends. When we were preparing to leave, she was complaining that she was getting all these shots just to go one time. By the time we left, she was already planning to go back within a year.
Freedom is a lifelong gift to give to your kids so they can pass it on to their kids knowing they have the opportunity to experience life in the U.S. and in The Gambia and they can see the difference, slower pace but safer 🇬🇲 ❤️
BarakAllahu feek Sister. It's great to hear you speak the Fula language, which is a clear indication that you are integrating into your local community. Seeing you walk the streets with your children also shows that you are really at peace with your environment, which is something invaluable for one's wellbeing. May Allah(swt) protect your family and your community in the Gambia and preserve the health of your family. Ameen.
To experience a peaceful and harmony environment is definitely priceless.Hope you and your family continue to enjoy your stay in the smiling coast of Africa 🌍
Those kids deserve land in the Gambia, cuz if they grow up, they will just do as the Gambians doing , coming to USA 🇺🇸 n work and take it back home to the Gambia n build. May Allah bless y’all
Ameen, may Allah bless you with the same sister (protection and the best of this life with better in the hereafter, Ameen). I appreciate this so much jazakallahu khair.
MarshAllah Africa is the home for black people Every people have their own place of home So that we may recognize each other's May Allah grant us understanding ❤❤❤❤
You praise Allah and say racist comment at the same time. You know that Africa is not home to just black people. Whst about all north Africa where bkacks are a tiny minority ? Quit that black nationalism
I hope you get to own some land and grow your food with your family. It so exciting to see seeds you dropped into a hole turn into a plant 😊😊😊. As always it's such a pleasure seeing video from you. More videos please.
You play a great role in how those kids think, there is another lady who’s kids were over in Ghana and her kids expressed how much they didn’t want to be there, constantly telling them stories of how bad it is will not help, dressing them differently also causes them to feel different from other kids those things play a part, if you truly knew God you would know you can only trust him not places or things.
Period sister Aminah, casually eating the girlypops up. So happy that you and your family are happy! May Allah reward y’all with an abundance of happiness, Ameen. 🫶🏾😁
Depends on your skill set. If you're a coach/teacher I would recommend learning content creation to create digital products that can be sold online. This is one of the fastest ways to make a passive income online. Many people come with money to buy homes/land in Gambia. I would argue that money should be invested into a piece of property in the US and then use that property to rent it out. Take the money from the rental and then invest it into an overseas business. There are many ways it can be done it depends on what the person is working with.
Flight costs change daily. Many factors determine this like which country/city you're flying from. To my knowledge the flights booked in January towards the end of the most seem to be less costly than most other months (Flights from USA). My family has booked several flights through United Airlines and ASAP tickets. The average ticket cost to Gambia is around $800 USD one way (if you book from the airline and not 3rd party)
@summersinafrica Thanks, I am trying to plan a trip for me and my family to go. When you have a group, you are trying to find a reasonable price. I'm coming from Florida and I want to visit different places when I arrive at the continent. You mincing ASAP tickets. Are they more flexible with prices.
@@msisrael439I understand. Some airlines offer discounts for group travel. We've gotten this through United Airlines. Since we were more than 6 people traveling they booked the tickets under group travel and we got an overall discount. It took a few hundred dollars off. Asap tickets is a third-party agency and they have discounted tickets but you must read the fine print. In some cases you're unable to be refunded if you can't make the flight etc.
@summersinafrica Thanks, family. I really want me and my family and I to visit to see Africa isn't what they portray on TV and what people have said. When we come I hope we can meet you and your lovely family. Shalom
@@msisrael439we would love to meet you 💝. And I pray everything works out with you and your family being able to visit to see it for yourself. Keep working towards it. It will happen!
Asalamu ayalkum sister, Masha Allah your videos are very informative. I wanted to ask you a question about homeschooling. My daughter will be middle school age when we move out of the country in sha Allah. What plans do have in terms of highschool diploma? I am concerned about that.
Walaykumsalam warahmatullah, thank you! My children (high school ages) are enrolled in online learning where they'll be able to receive high school diploma from the USA. They have several programs that would make traveling and still receiving hs diploma possible. There are also International schools in Gambia which are 100% accredited and children will get hs diploma upon graduating.
What do children do in Gambia for fun? No one ever really shows us the children engaged in anything so exactly what is it they miss and want to get back to when they go to the US for a while?
Freedom to play outside without staying in the yard, access to the beaches several days out of the week, their friends, neighbors. The thing is it's an overall state of peace that they miss not toys and amusement parks etc. It's the same thing that keeps.us adults drawn to here...a peaceful state of being. Children here are happier with "less things". It's so hard to explain ❤️. It must be seen/experienced.

The impact on your children who will be properly cultured about who they are is critical for their wellbeing.
