@@aclown36 Yeah. A common problem fighting at night. Considering general Jackson's reputation and hard charging attitude that mistake could be understood. General Jackson pressed all day at Chancellorsville and pushed ahead of half his troops. Then in the dead of night his aids advised he return to the line and he reluctantly realized it would have to be tomorrow. Imagine being in a dark forest there to fight and you see someone coming from the direction of the enemy. Most people would make the same mistake.

@BifeWeater i would certainly say stonewall was a good general, but I personally think its a stretch to put him with napoleon considering Napoleon is the greatest general of modern history. Rommel was certainly talented in his ability to command an army, and I would agree to put him right up there with the best generals in History. However, stonewall is often idolized in a way that seems to forget his many failures as a commander, don't get me wrong, I personally think he was one of the best of the war, but he certainly was not better than Lee or Grant. Overall, Jackson's campaigns achieved very little in the overall outcome of the war and he would of fallen from Confederate grace eventually. This is all my opinion ofc course, somewhat supported by facts.
@BifeWeater thats fair enough, im not from the united states so I don't have much of a say, though having been to the south and various places around the us multiple times its given me a real interest for the civil war.

stonewall was an overrated general, most people forget the disaster of the 7 day's campaign. His army got lost and he caused a horrific number of his own men to die.
