Just fired up LSDJ for the first time tonight, and I’m pretty happy with my first basic pattern. Now that I’ve done that, I gotta say, this is truly outstanding work.
The sound is incredible and I'd love to know how you did... so many of the things you did... but if I had to pick one, I'd start with that visualization! How'd you get the waveforms like that!? And to get the waveform visualization to match the pixel look of the gameboy!? It looks as good as it sounds!
First of all, thank you for the nice words ;) I generated the waveforms using this fantastic tool: github.com/corrscope/corrscope I fed it a different audio file for each of the audio channels, and configured it to produce a tiny video at the resolution of a Game Boy. The pixel look for the whole thing was done in After Effects! It's basically a grid mask overlaid on top to add some separation between each individual pixel, and then a slight drop shadow effect to give it that LCD flare :) It's a slightly modified version of the effect I built for one of my Game Boy videos on my other channel. You can see it here at 00:38 ua-cam.com/video/RZUDEaLa5Nw/v-deo.html Happy to answer any other questions :)
FUCK I JUST LOVE LSDJ. More gamedevs need to return to tradation and make vidya gaem music the way god intended. With a tracker and 4channels. Its nuts how LSDJ is like 20 years old and devs keep updating it creating new features and shit. Its also really cool you can hook two gameboys up with a link cable. Synch them together creating tracks with 8 channels to create some legitimate ludo music. I've heard some insane stuff done with 2/3 gameboys linked together. Also the GBA can make some pretty good music too its just people were lazy and did ports. Its almost the same as GB but with an extra channel for .wav files.
How do I get this LSDJ on 3Ds Nintendo. The jailbreak method I found uses the eshop, which is no longer operative. Thanks for vid! Your sound is amazing! Including this portamento bends!
Nice song, and the video is perfect for this, i need to learn how to do it, its pretty cool Can you share your sav file? Im tryin to figure how to use everything but i cant understand how instr are made.
what version of LSDJ re you using that lets you see the waves? also i just started making chiptune and got LSDJ recently, hope i can as good as you someday.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING i didn't even know the gameboys third channel was so versatile

I don't know what's better, the visualizations or the track. Bravo!!!
Sound waves always look sick when properly presented, they just need a high FPS (at least 50) for it to look good and thankfully this video is 60FPS.
brilliant!!!!
An impressive amount of work went into making this. Thanks for sharing!
sounds straight outta undertale for some reason
this is fire though

This is gorgeous! I need to trust the triangle wave to put in the work more often! :D
This is stella! You make it look so easy.

It sounds very good
Very cool

Nice tune, Good work👍🏻
Very accurate each sound. I found this track once year and it’s really awesome each time I hear it.
Great !
That waveshape channel is so active! How do you figure out what waveshapes to use? Is it just experimenting with it til you find somethingyou like?
This is like the music from pixel games and it’s really good you’re such a good music creator keep up the good work!!!
This is made on a music tracker called LSDJ, a program made for the Game Boy.

What a show off :) Super tight riff section only with 1WN.

Damn cool song 😀
I need this
how do you set up/use corrscope?
what version of LSDJ re you using that lets you see the waves? also i just started making chiptune and got LSDJ recently, hope i can as good as you someday.
The waveforms are actually rendered separately using corrscope! I put everything together in After Effects to make the final video.
Do you sell your music in FLAC anywhere?
Did you use a pocket operator?
Not for this one, no. This one's entirely made with LSDj :)
