I wake up to this song on my phone alarm every morning. There is no possible way of waking up in a bad mood when your brain comes awake to the Rhodes opening and then forget about it, when the drums & bass start in it's the best start to the day. I never get sick of it.
The one thing I always held up and defended was the pure musicianship of bands like this.. absolutley AWESOME! I have so much respect for Jamiroquai, same kinda thing with RHCP..blood sugar sex majik.. its the kinda music you'll listen to every week, every day over and over again
I Agree totally! I love RHCP as well :) I discovered Jamiroquai in 2010. I know that's really late in their career but I was only 10, lol. I'm a young fan. But since that day I discovered them I've been in love, I am always listening to their music and discovering new things about them and old lost/rare tracks, like Midnight Funk and Snooze You Lose. I love them so much and I'm so glad I found them!
Rhcp and Jamiroquai are my favourite bands. I discovered Jamiroquai in 2010 with their performance on Jools Holland that year. I'm so happy John Frusciante has returned. These bands stand a foot above the rest
Funny, I'm an electric guitar player and you just mentioned the two bands where I listen only to the bass and don't even notice the guitar (Though Frusciante has some stunning solos on Stadium Arcadium).
I’ve been on a bass player kick lately. Find myself enjoying funk style playing. Came across Stewart Zender and now I’m hooked. I’ve gotta do some more exploring…it should be a good journey.
Great post!!!!! These older Jamiroquai videos are to be treasured for all of eternity. I love how Stu just slaps the base like its his b--ch and out comes just amazing funk!!
CJ Mooney its about the sound man not the words and that had as much to do with zenders bass as anybody else just try and compare the first three albums (with zender) and the last four the newer stuff is still better than 99% of music but isnt a patch on those first three
Tiziano Li Justo his name is Simon Katz yeah everyone loves Zender on the bass and even though guitar is secondary with this style of music but yeah an unsung hero!
Every time I hear the high pitch guitar it gives me anxiety because at the Woodstock 99 (yikes) performance they did, his guitar was WAYYYY too loud and then he was forced to stop for a bit! haha :')

@@maxington26 it does bc it's the alarm
Zender is such a great bassist
He’s amazing💜
And Toby Smith is an even better keyboardist!
I can say with over 20 years(!!!) of listening to Jamiroquai this is my fav version of Alright (that b-line!)
i agree! Musically at least - but i still love the way he bounced around the stage when he did it on SNL
I listen to Jamiroquai since i was a kid and i can say the same thing. Also Stoned Again version of Space Cowboy has a crazy bassline
RIP TOBY SMITH
THE TRUE BACKBONE OF THIS BAND

People talk about Zender, but can we also talk about DJ D-zire's work on the samples? His Scratching was on point especially at the outro 3:45

Jamie Thompson that depends on how good you think lennon was solo
Zender didn't write much. Jay wrote all of the hits with the guitarist. So he's the forgotten one really.
Zender is a great bassist though
CJ Mooney
