  • So, it was my own fault but I ended up on what was voted the best island in the world during rainy season. El Nido, on Palawan, Philippines, was a beautiful sight but the rain made for a dampened time. If you're just interested in my verdict fast forward to 04:38.
    Thanks for watching and as always, make sure to like, subscribe, and tell your mom - it would help me out tremendously!

    Great summary of the pros and cons of travelling off season. One of the things I like about travelling off season is there is less tourists and you get to have a less commercial experience. Sometimes the people have more time for tourists and you get to know them better.

    Awesome to see you show us the real life aspects of traveling there during the offseason, that is unfortunate about the weather but I am sure it is gorgeous and actually nice being the only ones there! haha That burger looked amazing, and aw man rained out again! Definitely would go there and explore sometime!

      Yeah, I never want to be the type of vlogger that makes everything look amazing if I'm not exactly feeling that way,. It was rainy, but that didn't mean it was a complete bust. Still had a great time!

    Man, that is some intense rainy season! Classic south east Asia monsoon weather. At least the restaurants are nice and empty when you get your food :D Thanks for the 1 on 1 chat learnt good insight into the off peak season.

    I am just so hesitant about visiting El NIDO during the rainy season. Your video shows me what might happen during that time😆. It is helpful for me to make a decision. Thanks.

    Way to persevere on the intro!! Just getting off of Mount Robson, berg lake, so getting caught up. We hit Sapa, Vietnam during the rainy season, and that is when I realized that this is a time of year, for me, that I needed to avoid in future travels. Great insight!

    • @adamdenzel
      @adamdenzel  5 років тому

      Well, I wish you would have given me that life insight a few weeks ago! Haha it is definitely a different experience and now just need to be more strategic with my island hopping while I'm here. Can't wait to check out the Mount Robson video I'm sure is coming!

    • @21Swayzee
      @21Swayzee 5 років тому +1

      Ha, yeah...it can be hard timing..I've had some great travel experiences at the edge of bad weather patterns...for example, autumn in New Zealand, and the short lull in the rainy season in July on the West Coast of Costa Rica.... Hope the Island hopping goes well, maybe some Island get less rain in the rainy season? Footage looks great from Mount Robson...got to clear up some Jasper stuff first...which is hard to do, because it is not on par with Robson. Have a blast today!

    Damn, even in that crazy weather the water is absolutely beautiful and clear. The dark, looming clouds actually make it look magical and almost unnatural. How can it be so blue?! That does sound like low, low season. I went to Sri Lanka in the low season but it was just before the monsoon season properly kicked in so we only had a couple of days of rain in total. Although it was annoying when it did rain!

    • @adamdenzel
      @adamdenzel  5 років тому

      Oooh, love that. Sounds like you went at the perfect time. I think that is the goal, make it to a destination in between tourist season and wet season and get everything done then. Also....I just want to go to Sri Lanka in general. I can't believe I've been missing those videos, going to check them out now!

    I guess sometime you dont know when rain is going to come - regardless if you go during the "good season" - like when i went to HK it pretty much rained non stop :D - so definitely still found a way to shoot some videos and made it useful somewhat haha! although it takes an extra step and some umbrella/ponchos lol :D

    • @adamdenzel
      @adamdenzel  5 років тому +1

      Ooooh, do you have those videos of Hong Kong up? I would love to check those out. The ponchos are key, I have carried a packable rain jacket with me for the last 7 months and I FINALLY got some use out of it. Bittersweet for sure!

    Strange, but despite the rains ruining your plans, I enjoyed this vlog a lot so I am going to give this a two thumbs up! You don't look stress out in this vlog either which is amazing.. El Nido is a boom town so the construction I am afraid will be with the town in the next couple of years. And yeah, that's the risk one has to take when visiting El Nido and the Philippine in general during the rainy season. Weather is unpredictable. Direct flights to El Nido's tiny tiny airport is a little bit expensive but if you have the money, go for it! :D

    • @adamdenzel
      @adamdenzel  5 років тому +1

      No lie, I was actually hoping I would get your approval. I didn't want to make this a negative vlog at all because we still had a ton of fun in El Nido (and it was still beautiful). We will definitely be back during the dry season and do all of island hopping we've heard so much about. As always, thanks for watching Chris!

      Still working on it. The first vlog took about 4 hours at a place called Art Cafe in El Nido, and this vlog took about 6 hours (overnight) at an airbnb in Cebu. It will definitely take some time, just depends on the places you go to use wifi.

      True what Adam said. Philippines is not expensive compared to Europe and the US. It gets cheaper (since last year) as the Philippine peso is weak and getting weaker still. Your Euros or US dollars will go a lot! 👍🏼
