I'm slowly realising how monumental a task i've taken on as an individual. It's BIG! life consuming big and although I think I'm still up to the task I'm only finally understanding it. In this episode we sort out the inner wheel arch, ute floor, rear window panel and roof. Dont miss this adventure into everything from terrible welding and panel beating to below average filming and video editing. MUST SEE EPISODE. All things serious I hope you enjoyed the humour and the Video.
Nice Project !
Pozdrav iz Hrvatske!
(Croatia, EU)
Love seeing the different countries people are watching from!
G'day from West Australia😉
Found your video today( Sunday)
Gonna hit you with an old time saying buddy!
"I take my hat off to you." ( sign of respect from long ago).

That’s awesome! Thank you very much and happy to have you on board
@@blacknightcreations here's another one my father used to say to me😊
If you can dream it, then use your hands to work it into this realm so you can enjoy it.😉👍👍
This is a great channel and a cool project! I hope it does keep growing!
Slowly slowly, last couple of episodes have done considerably better so it’s just a matter of time
You definitely got a loyal subscriber, I understand what it take to do such type of work, and that's not easy. Keep it up!
Love this comment, happy to have your on board.
Man... I am really liking this mk1 Caddy build.
I had to look them up and yeah you’re completely right, I’d never seen one before.
I joke-ish about the caddy, haha... love what you're doing. @@blacknightcreations
A big 👍for your efforts! It is going to be a pearler when it's done and thanks for taking us along with you on the process.
All hail the algorithm!
Hahaha most definitely. All hail the algorithm. Thanks for the kind words
The work done is incredible!
I'm sending you a good dose of motivation from France!!
I can't wait to see what happens next!!!
With any luck the next episode should be a pretty big one! Thanks for the motivation.
@@blacknightcreations oh yes I have to watch it today !!!
Ohh I just noticed the episode you commented on, I meant episode 23 in making right now
Came for the E30 ute content, stayed for the absolutely 🔥 music taste 🤘🤘🤘 . keep up the amazing work can't wait to see this thing complete.
Hell yes, check them out on band camp. Start editing the next episode Monday so stay tuned!
I am a little truck person, and I love it. Keep going. Thanks Ray
It’s starting to look like a Ute mate.. keep going, can’t wait to see this finished.
Can we just cut to the end already?
Talk about built.. not bought - This is mental! Cant wait for the engine! surely u just s58 it ;) can't wait for the next vid!
S58 Xdrive surely!
Hy, yes effectively, it is my first video from you. You are impressive man. The work of sheet metal is not easy, but you seems in your element, like a fish in the water !!! I am looking for the others videos. Hello from France. Kris
I’ve only been dealing with sheet metal on this car, no prior experience to be honest. It’s crazy to see how many different countries people are watching from! Happy to have you here and hope you enjoy the rest of the project
Found your channel today. Realized I had to watch from the beginning. Now I’ve watched all 21 episodes. Subscribed and looking forward to the rest of the build.
Hell yes!! So happy to have you on board and thank you so much for starting from the start
Taking shape nicly its all about trial & error just keep @ it dude 🤙👍
Sooooo much trial and error! Cheers I’m so deep now I can’t stop
Man ive just binged the whole series, amazing work, i love seeing the problem solving that goes into it
I absolutely love reading comments like this! Thanks for the kind words
UA-cam decided I needed this in my feed today. Subscribed! Looking forward to more progress - great stuff.
Algorithm coming through with the goods!
Huge project to take on but it’s looking so good! 1 step at a time 😊
It really is!
Keep it up. Don't worry about those that have nothing to say. It's your project. Love what I'm seeing.
Stunning project!! Shame the steering is on the wrong side....Thumbs up from a Baur owner from The Netherlands.
Isn’t it on the right side? Hehehehe

Hi Mate,
Looking good, you have done a fair bit of work since i last seen the ute in the flesh, who would have known that the colorado and izusu would not be the same. As always look forward to the finished beast.
I had a really good couple of weeks working on it and I’m still excited to get more done!
dude the pocket that forms in the b- piller would be great spot for a set of small speaker set such as mids and tweets for a three way system with the subs in the door, awesome project keep it going
When I’m doing the interior I’ll look into that. My brain is so full I can only think about one thing at a time right now.
Awesome stuff
Cheers!
Don't doubt yourself anymore. New subscriber, just take your time. It's quite amazing what you are doing.
I think a little doubt can be healthy but you are right. Awesome comment, thank you.
Thanks for the sticker homie!! It's going straight on my e36 beer can drift car 😂
Haha hell yes! No worries at all
Wow when that side skirt went on... The time spent on gapping definitely paid off
I was so lucky Edan helped with the panel, the side skirt would have showed everything I did wrong.
To the uninitiated that was absolutely fascinating. It's going to look amazing when it's finished.
I think so too!
I think it is going to look GREAT!
Keep it up man, i looks awesome!
Hell yes! I’m really happy with how it’s turned out
good work an the progress you have made, cant wait to see the final result.
I also can’t wait to see the end result, I also can’t wist to build it
True motivation for actual skilled people 👍🏻
I was in a band. Drone Livingston. More than happy to send over the tracks.
Think I found a song called Odin on UA-cam? If you want to contact me on Instagram or Facebook? We can work it out.
Well done its great to see your determination even after a few failures you kept going i can already see how awsome it will be keep up the great work
Just keep your fingers crossed I get my rear quarter panel early next year
You have a new subscriber here. Awesome build dude. Keep up the good stuff.
Thanks for kind words and the sub!
LOVE IT! Can’t wait to see more. Also I kind of want my own now. Keep up the great work.
Thanks! I’ve been picturing this car for years and it’s good to finally be able to show people how I’ve imagined it.
I love the b pillars looks nice just keep on working bro…
I’m also sooo happy with the style of the b pillar as well! Start editing the next episode this week
Great video, just subscribed, watching from Botswana, we love utes here we call them pick ups or bakkies
finally, in the workshop and able to watch this properly.
Happy to see you back! Let me know what you think of the video?
Never left, just a bit late on watching the latest, very much enjoying the detailed work, I'm sure it will make all the difference come final fit and finish to make it all look OEM and have people scratching their heads thinking.. I'm sure BMW never made an M3 Ute
Seeing how you chop up the tubs Im reminded of the VS Commodore ute ambulances
I nearly bought one of those extended VS utes a couple of years back. Would love to do something with one of them in the future
@@blacknightcreationsthere was one at my local wreckers when I was rebuilding my VE sidi. (Spun a bottom end bearing during covid) same as you I'm not a mechanic I work in IT.
I learnt how to pull the engine apart put it back together completely through videos on UA-cam
so stuff like this is always amazing😅 thank you for your content
Aha, there's a 96 - 2000 version in green in dagenham, uk. It looks bog standard apart from the conversion, sometimes has a motorbike in the back aswell.
Keep going bro, would love to see this finished.
I have been thinking of doing an old motorcycle in an E30 style to put in the back
@@blacknightcreations that's a good idea, bike to go with the truck. You should definitely do that bro.
Just found you, and I love the build. Just hang in there, have a look at how long it took the big boys. Hard road but eventually worth it. Nothing wrong with your channel as it is...... it's just time to build subs😊
Thanks, this video is already my best performing. Snow balling already I guess.
Very nice job 👍
Thanks, every comment helps the motivation
as a panel beater all i can say is take your time and things will fall into place and don't be afraid to ask for a second opinion on things if you get stuck. have you thought about putting vt-vz ute quarter trims and top rails that go on the quarter panels as finishing the top of the bmw quarters just a thought cheers from broken hill
I’m very lucky to have a crash shop next door to my workshop so can always grab a second opinion before I destroy something. I’ve had a bunch of different ideas on how to finish the top of the tub and all going well you’ll see how I do it in the next episode.
Absolutely lovin this video! Watched it 3 times. You sir, are a legend!
Haha that’s awesome, start filming the next episode tomorrow.
It's funny that I stumbled upon this video and you mentioned Jimmy Oakes. I've been following him for years and for the last 2, I've been commenting that they should turn Brians E46 Sedan into a UTE. Lol They haven't listened....yet. lol
Hopefully my videos scratch that itch for you! How good is Jimmy Oakes by the way!
@@blacknightcreations looking good. I'll have to go back and watch from the beginning of the build.
I have just found your channel and love the project. I have liked and subscribed so best I now play catch up with ep1 to 20!
I really enjoy seeing these kinds of comments weeks after I put out the video, glad the algorithm found you.
the b pillar is just perfect.. as ive seen the back window i just inmagined that b pillar has to have some shape that it would make look good from back and you acomplished that nice job. just look at hte back window ant that b pillar.. awesome
Cheers, it’s still a bit of a working prototype but will be pretty similar to what it is now!
Aye I found ya! Cheers for the beers mate!
Hahaha awesome man! Enjoy
You're a madman. Love it.
I seem to be hearing that more and more these days
Nice job so far, something different.🎉
Thanks, definitely going to be one of a kind car
Found your channel a few hours ago. Fair to say that i have added 1 view to each of your videos and am now patiently waiting for the next video. Love the idea the execution and everything in between. Amazing channel that deserves way more subscribers. Keep up the spectacular work.
Consider creating a patreon where you can upload tidbits of upcoming videos while generating extra income to take some stress off of you to maintain a day job while building the best vehicle on earth.
Love seeing comments like this one. I’ve set up a patreon but until the channel is monetised I can’t link the page to my videos. Luckily with the success of this video I’d say I’ll be monetised in over the next couple of weeks and can add it to my next video
Awesome long content. U.K. absolutely engrossed in your phenomenal progress. Only gripe is those side b pillars look too wide. Like a sharks dorsal fin! Other e30 trucks have a slim vertical line. Looks factory and a sharper pick up truck line. More pleasing on the eye. 🇬🇧
It will be a little smaller in the end. I haven’t seen an E30 Ute that I’ve really liked the B pillar of. Have a look at proton jumbucks or even Holden utes, they’re a different style that I think is closer to what I’m going for.
This thing is sick loving the series so far can’t wait to see more of it 😊 gotta get into my builds again being a SA guy myself might have to catch up and show ya some of my work when I have one of ‘em complete that is lol 😂
Sounds good, always happy to talk project cars.
@@blacknightcreations started fitting up a set of GKTECH pro v4 s13/14 angle kit into my supercharged bluebird wagon hahaha 🤣
@danielhodgetts4779 what year bluebird? Had to look them up but that sounds awesome!
@@blacknightcreations it’s the 1985 series 3 wagon gxe
Bro this is fantastic! You need to document this process so you can sell templates ect for stuff that you have made
I love the idea of someone copying me, too many of the panels I’ve used are off data that aren’t global car.
Why are more people not watching thus awesome project?
I’m out drinking to celebrate getting monetised, the content only gets better from here. Everything’s just building from here
@@blacknightcreations Congratulations on getting moneybags. 😂 Looking forward to seeing this progress. 👌
@robertjenkinson3360 I’ve officially made $1 from this project, I’m over $100k deep. This was never about making money bags. This was about investing in myself, into something a truly wanted and just praying it payed off. This is only first step
@@blacknightcreations Well, as business mathematicians it sucks right now, But the car is cool as biscuits mate. When more people start seeing it and subscribing, the money will start coming. And even if it doesn’t, you’re still going to have a fecking E30 M3 pickup that looks the absolute dogs balls.
Comment conversation likes this really fuel the motivation! I’m so happy to have a viewer like you and I hope sometime in the future that we’re getting a beer having a chat in real life
Pretty good idea 💡
this is awesome ! good work
Just happened upon your great video...super interesting...!
I would love if you left more roof over hang to shield that rear glass...
Very inspiring build bro!!
I did think about it but I’m trying to do my interpretation of an OEM Ute and I don’t think the designers would have such an aggressive over hang
Love the progress being made on this ute. Can't wait to see the finished product and what your next project is going to be.
Do you sell any merch? I would love one to purchase a shirt or two
Still working out a merch store but it will be coming very soon. The next episode should be out later this week and I’ll be doing a tshirt giveaway.
This is going to be one sick e30 ute.
cool project! looks sick
Thanks! Should look amazing when it’s finished
First video I've seen of yours and I'm a fan just got the phrasing reference
Wanna turn my F20 140 into a mighty boy :D
Hell yes, the algorithm finally found you. Plenty to catch up on, I’m editing episode 36 right now. I can already picture of the F20 would look and I love to idea.
Great job so far, but how about using also the read end of the donor BMW roof and fit it to the back wall of the jumbuck?
Hahaha when the donor jumbuck is cleared off I’ll see what it looks like. We didn’t leave it very clean
@@blacknightcreations I meant if you maybe would use the rear top end of the BMW roof instead of the other part. So, you would have the same shape on the front and the back of the roof...
Best regards from Germany,
Patrick
Ohh I get you, I did look at that but the radius is different and wouldn’t quite work.
best project on youtube
Hahaha thanks! It’s going to be pretty special.
new subscriber here, you have some "mad" skills!!!
Thanks! I have been called crazy for doing this project
Really nice project
Thanks, it’s slowly coming together
Really cool project….
Thanks, glad you like it!
Hello i watch you from Germany , Super work and idieas . Good luck
I’ve always wondered what Germans think of it? Good to know there’s some who like it!
Love it. But make sure you can still acces ur shockmounts in the back ;)
I’ve definitely thought about it and I’m hoping that I’ll be able to answer you concern in the next couple of episodes
Use the C pillar off old E30 for B pillar??
The old C pillar runs at the wrong angle and isn’t quite big enough sadly
@@blacknightcreations love the project 👍
Fenomenal
Nice to see it come together, thoughts on a sunroof?
I’ve thought about keeping the targa top and adding a sunroof but I think aesthetically a hardtop will look the best
very ambitious and cool project. the music is a bit aggressive for chill viewing though. all the best
Definitely a fair comment. Ive been thinking about the videos I want to make and I don’t want the elevator music that’s just playing in the background the whole time. I want to introduce a smaller band each video so each one has a different feel. Sunquake is a band I listen and they let me use their music. I’m already looking for a new band that won’t be as heavy for the next video.
@@blacknightcreations that's cool, I'll just turn the volume down for the next one
The next band is a little more rocky than metaly, let me know what you think
Great channel, watch the swearing mate my kids watch with me... Keep up the great work.
Definitely noted and will cut them out for future videos.
put left on the right ,right on the left................peace
The inner wheel arch?
@@blacknightcreations yep it might fit without too much cutting...........peace
I don’t think it would quite work
@@blacknightcreations thats ok just a thought................peace
REALLY cool car idea. Bummer it's taking what like a year now so far? I'll check back next year :)
Great things take time but you’re probably correct maybe check back in 6 months and see how I’m going?
Yo let’s go that’s sick
Sooo sick!!
With the b pillar.. just dont make it too swoopy.. a little curve with an angle at the join will match the bmw
I’ve got the rear quarters that I can cut the angles and patches out of to make sure the B pillar is still E30
inspiring work!!!
courrage
How will you service the rear strut towers? Are you going to add an access hole with a removable panel to cover the strut tower on the bmw frame?
Pretty much, I’ll cut a panel out of that wheel arch panel so I can get access
Found your channel couple days ago n been catching up as quick as i can!! I love this idea.. ive subbed.. so where abouts is it your working?? That your shop? Cheers. Dave from the uk 🇬🇧 ❤
Awesome, welcome and glad to have you on board. I rent out space in a mechanics workshop in South Australia. It’s a bit of a serendipitous story.
I fricken LOVE IT!
Thanks, I can see you’re making your way through the whole series. Hopefully you’re enjoying it.
@@blacknightcreations yeah man… totally addicted. I still haven’t even picked up my car (RWC taking longer than previous owner expected). So in the mean time… study 😅. That said… it’ll stay stockish for a while. It’s a 318is with the little M42 1.8. I actually just bought some BMW Sports Seats for it (from Adelaide actually… so need to head to SA from Melbs). Resto more than mod, for the first stage. I will buy some merch… to support. Appreciate the amount of work youve put in for this build… and production is awesome (sans mic and camera issue 😂)
Yeah people don’t like it when you mod 318is but sports seats are a must. Yeah sweet, well if you’re only in Melbourne you’ll definitely get a chance to see it in person when it’s doing a tour of Australia.
@@blacknightcreations can’t wait!!!
Sickkk, just got the order! Thanks, and the production values have definitely improved, if only workshop Lewis would remember to turn the microphone on
Just wondering about the access to the rear shock mounts. How to make access
I’ll make a removable panel to get in there.
So damn cool
How close is a 4 door rear 1/4 window to fitting into that b pillar space ?
Hmmmmmmm that’s a really good question! I’ll have a look and get back to you.
How do you plan to access the shock mounts ?
I’ll make access panels in the wheel are panel, I just can’t do that until other panels are attached
You mean these clamps? The clamps that i use every day?
I should clarify. This was the first video the algorithm recommended to me. So now I'm off to watch the old ones
Hahahah I forgot how many references I put in that video. The first 8 or so episode I was learning a lot about filming, editing, camera and microphone quality. I’d say around episode 17-18 I found my style.
I should do this to my e90
It’s a huge job, if you start you’ve gotta finish. Goodluck!
Sub'd mate, lovin ya build.
Much appreciated, filming for the next episode begins tomorrow
find a VW caddy tub as it has a similar shape
Should be good from here. Have all the panels worked out. If I ever build another I’ll look into a caddy
Nice keep it up
heh thats my old bmw? :D
It’s a South African import, imported into Queensland and then made its way to South Australia. Is it really your old car?
Vou te fala viu Everton aqui no RJ necessita de uma empresa igual a sua comprofissionais bons, aqui no rj um tanque de moto comum preto brilhante caras estão cobrando 250 reais preço de pintura.
Fucking love it.👌
Loving the positivity!
There's no audio?
Did it start to work?
@@blacknightcreations Yep, there's audio now.
Must have been too keen to watch it, the audio might not have rendered fully yet
VW Saveiro Brasil
good content just a lot of talking... less talking and more just doing would be glorious
It’s hard to please everyone, I’m just trying to make content I’d watch. I can take it into account.
Have a listen to coridian . I know the band and can put you in contact
Will do
Shoot me a message over Instagram or Facebook, I’d like to be put in touch with these guys
won't to trade for a rx3
I’m too deep now to not finish
