Ive got a Feb 24 ST Track pack and came from a 2019 ST Estate with analogue dials. Both with HUDs, so I don't look the dash much! However the HUD doesnt show revs so when driving enthusiastically i found the needle on the analogue dials easier to see out the corner of my eye. The digital rev counter is a bit cluttered and doesn't show the revs as a number (just gear selected). In Track mode you get an opposing horizontal line that meets in middle at redline at the top of the display. I really like it, but its annoying that its only in Track mode and not Sport mode too. So I like the new dashes analogue like rev counter, revs as a number and its appears that the horizontal rev display appears in sport mode too. So I hope i get an OTA update for my Feb 24 ST Track Pack!
I was wondering the same thing as I have a September 2023 Focus ST and would like the new display via update if possible! Maybe they would do the update as part of a service if it can’t be done OTA?
my ST focus was delivered last week, I'm still waiting for it to be taken over and I firmly believe that I have this infotainment there, for me personally the new one showed more speed than the previous generation.
Many congrats on your new Focus ST. For sure it is all personal preference and I have not spent as much time with the new infotainment myself over the older version so interesting to hear your current thoughts on your ownership with the new infotainment. Thank you for sharing 👍
Congrats! did you pick your ST up ? any update on the new digital cluster ? would be perfect if you could take some pics or make a short video on different drive modes .. Thanks
Question :) Does you ST Edition have mandatory Speed Limiter beep warning? If it does, how difficult is it to turn it off? Do you have to do it every single time like with start-stop?
Hey Sam ! Thanks for this nice video, I am writing from Spain 😀 I have a question for you, on this Monday I have ordered here in Spain a st edition, they told me they arrive in December / January… actually have a mk7.5 golf tcr 3dr whit 56k miles on it, I am happy whit my car but I ordered the focus because is manual and because I have take a big deal , it cost me 36k euro (31k gbp) … my used tcr actually worth 23 GBP and I have to sell it and add money for the focus when arrive. So my big question is if I am regretting this decision in the future, because I have read the VW is better than the ford, but I am a guy that after 3 years whit the same car I am bored and also I would like to try the Manual Transmission of the ford… any advice to me? Thanks and sorry for my bad English… keep it up whit your good work
Go with what feels right for you. Both the TCR and the Focus ST Edition are fantastic so it is all personal preference and it is difficult to find a hot hatch in a manual so if that is important for you then you have a great manual to enjoy for years to come 🎉
It acts in the same way as a rev counter. The closer you get to the rev limit the more dashes appear and eventually they flash I believe. Looks nice from my view 👍
I don’t know if you have the vin of the 2024 ST edition. I would like to use it to study the transplantation of the new instrument firmware to the 2018 focus. Thanks you.
In terms of changing it back from the new to the old I am not sure. The dials do not change as dramatically or in as much of a performance orientated way in my view with the new system. The colour changes slightly but less red colour and the size remains quite small with both dials for the revs and the speed. Not sure if there is any future customizability available for this or planned for the future 🤔
and what about oil? replace it faster, except at the authorized dealership, because as we know, metal filings collect in the filter, the engine was run-in at the factory, but there will always be some metal filings
Hey Sam. Thx for clarifying everything. Question about your shop. Do you plan to Update it ? I would love a ST Phone case but there is no choice for a Galaxy S24 Ultra. Cheers !
Hi Sam, I moaned to you previously about my current track pack focus ST with slightly crooked seats and was very grateful you replied. So... I've doubled down and ordered an ST edition 🙈 I've had MK3.5 focus ST, a MK4 focus ST, a MK4.5 focus ST, a MK8 fiesta ST, a MK8.5 Fiesta St, a MK4.5 focus with track pack, and now this MK4.5 ST edition. The track pack is just brilliant for tackling pot hole riddled roads! Wouldn't go back to a car that can't smooth out the bumps like this one can. Didn't expect the suspension to be so good. What is your current daily?
No worries at all. Just to note the MK4 and the MK4.5 Focus ST Edition have the track pack suspension so ride wise it will be the same as your previous track pack focus. You can manually adjust the suspension to its more comfort setting with the KW coil overs but it will still be firm. You have owned a MK4.5 Focus ST (non track pack) from what you have said above. That car in comfort mode felt great from my testing. If you found this too firm the ST Edition is a noticeable amount firmer. My car is a 2017 MK7 Golf R, 3 door, manual, pre-opf. I have owned it for 7 years and it is all documented on the channel also. My Golf R does not have DCC (Dynamic chassis control) which is an option I would recommend as it makes the ride a lot smoother. Mine is firm but fine for me. I do not "daily drive" as such as I do not use the car to commute on a daily basis but when I was going into London daily it was great. It is a very subjective thing and as you have tried all the Ford's maybe the Golf might work for you. If you do go ahead with the ST Edition it is a great car but the ride is firm from my view particularly on UK roads
My partner is actually thinking of changing to a Golf (GTI or R) after the Fiesta ST lease is up, just because the Fiesta ST is a bit too small for us. We saw new Mk8 Golf Rs to buy advertised as £10,000 off list price, so £35,000 on the Motorfinity website (Blue Light card), but the interest rate of 8.5% is what stopped us changing. Was too good to be true! We are thinking about the Mild hybrid puma ST as well, but would need to test drive it first to make sure it is punchy enough. We have watched your video on it. Have subscribed and will keep up to date with the videos, thank you!
Hey mate, got my track pack focus st last friday, debating a stage 1 map but worried about voiding warranty, heard the dream science imap is undetectable and removable for services ... is this true to your knowledge?
Many congrats on your new Focus ST Track pack! Personally I would consider keeping the car stock as it is brilliant to drive. I cannot comment on the warranty aspect and you will have to check with the company who is providing the map along with your Ford dealer.
Not my car. Owned by a subscriber which I have shared in a video earlier this month. The title is related to my mistake around saying the infotainment system is unique to the limited 300 ST Edition which it is not. It is available on all ST Focus models from 21.03.2024 as mentioned in the video 👍

Thank you for sharing your experience. That is very helpfu from your ownership. Many congrats also on your incoming ST Track pack 🎉
I wonder if an OTA update will change pre March 24 cars to match the latest update.
Very good point. That will be interesting what OTA updates offer that is for sure

@@kpgrimmy OTA Updates still only work for sync 4 and also the IPC is a new compared to pre march models, its not only a display design.

Every single time you get inside the car. Just a few clicks away nothing too drastic.
I’m sure you can bypass it, I’ll do it too next spring

What do the dashes at the top centre of the cluster when in sport mode mean?

Damn i really liked the old dash better - do you know if you can change the dash visuals somehow?

No worries at all! I have not looked at the shop this year so will look to update it soon and will take on board your feedback 🙂

I like the new dash because it has al the numbers on it
So that’s your car or is it Click Bait 🙄
