You've helped me break out of the trance of skin care/makeup obsession. I've simplified my routine since I started watched two days ago and my skin is already much happier! Thank you for what you do!
I think the Maybelline mascara does more for your lashes. I hope CVS has their own version of the Cetaphil. I also hope companies start providing more color options. In complexion cosmetics, fair and anyone darker than medium is left out so often, and their entire industry is color. Since sunscreen is underused in the US, I don't see companies coming out with tinted sunscreens that fit those with rather pale or darker skin anytime soon, especially for darker skin.
Excellent video. I just ordered the Cetaphil Tinted cream from Amazon. The IT CC Cream SPF50 is my favorite; it offers great coverage and has never irritated my skin. The Maybelline Colossal lashes look fuller and longer to me. Have a great night.
I just spent some time this morning looking through your videos for suggestions on tinted sunscreen. This is great! Can't thank you enough for the content you put out. It's changed my life so much for the better.
One that she had a reaction to that works for a lot of people is Australian Gold spf 50 tinted botanical sunscreen. I have sensitive skin and it really works for me...plus it's $9 for 3 ounces on vitacost. I swear that it like sticks to your skin more than other sunscreens too, which makes me think it rubs off less (but it's hard to apply other liquid makeups on top of it for that reason as well although powders are fine in my experience).
I have been using the tinted cetaphil over a spf 50 base lotion (cera ve 50 mineral, kiss me mommy or babganics spf 50) this has been working very well!
I love using tinted sunscreen products over my base layer of SPF. It helps me feel like I have an extra layer of protection over my chemical sunscreens. My favorite is the MAC Waterweight SPF 30, it contains both physical and chemical sunscreens as well as mineral pigments and hyaluronic acid. I have a tough time with mineral sunscreens because I am a light medium skin tone with a warm undertone so finding something that doesn’t make me look ghastly is difficult. Also next time you’re at the drugstore can you check out the Acne Free cleanser with 2.5% benzoyl peroxide. It kind of reminds me of the Cerave cleanser because it’s fragrance free, contains ceramides and cholesterol, and doesn’t lather very much. It has helped keep my acne under control without any irritation.
Good morning gorgeous!! Today’s video was quick and sweet ❤️ also I love how Dr. Davin Lim totally gave you a shout out on his channel!!! Love both of your channels! Have a great Monday 💋
I'm really liking my Elta MD sunscreen in the tinited version. It's very cosmetically elegant, not at all heavy, applies nicely (and lasts). Interestingly, I wore it to a job interview today-the interview was with a medical specialists group in dermatology/reconstruction and plastics - and one of the derms commented on how good my skin looked. Thanks for your s/screen rec, Dr. Dray!.
I know you’ve recommended Head & Shoulders for the beard area and other areas on the body for certain skin conditions. So I just wanted to let you know that they now have a completely fragrance free shampoo and shampoo+conditioner in their lineup.
I thought the Maybelline side looked a tad thicker and longer. Both sunscreens looked fine, but the Cetaphil is more in my budget. I can use a dab of concealer on the darker spots. Great review as always!
Great and informative video! I am upping my SPF game, because I moved to sunny Northern Arizona! I have ditched most of my makeup since moving here a year ago, and I believe it has made me more confident than ever. Always look forward to your daily video. Have an awesome day!
I've been using CoverGirl BB cream tinted moisturizer with spf 21. I wish it had a higher spf, but I use Neutrogena sheer sunscreen with spf 70 under it. I love the combo on my skin but the color is slightly orange so I am looking for a new tinted sunscreen. Hopefully with more spf.
I agree, I loved the CeraVe product review. It would be great to have one for some of the different Cetaphil products. I would like to know about the Pro Dermacontrol oil control products especially. They have a newer SPF30 moisturizer that I hear really good things about.
She did a video on Top 10 cetaphil skin care products. She's talking about: 1. DermControl Purifying Clay Mask 2. Daily Hydrating Lotion 3. Pro Oil Absorbing Moisturizer SPF 30 4. Redness Relieving Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF 20 5. Redness Relieving Night Moisturizer 6. Pro Eczema Soothing Moisturizer 7. Intensive Healing Lotion with Ceramides 8. Moisturizing Cream 9. Ultra Gentle Body Wash Fragrance Free 10. Soothing Gel Cream with Aloe
Great review. Thank you! I already own the IT CC Cream and I will purchase the Cetaphil since it’s so affordable. I’ll skip the Colorscience and purchase one of those adorable Coolibar bucket hats instead. 😊👍✌🏼❤️
The price for the Color science is ridiculous. Nice product but unnecessary. All you need is a good spf and a drugstore concealer. Maybeline 'FIT ME' has a great one for your complexion :)
I bought Skin Ceuticals Physical Eye UV Defense SPF 50 it has tint in it. its pretty nice, not as dark as the Elta md. It’s a very small container tho. But I apply it on my face on top of my white zinc sunscreen to not look so white. Try it!
Great video! I use the cerave am spf 30 followed by the Andalou Naturals BB natural tint spf 30. It works well for me! The only problem I run into is that when I use the cerave during outdoor exercise, it stings a lot when I take it off afterwards
Love the video! Bought the Cetaphil one and loves the feel of it on my skin but it burns my eyes. Anyone with sensitive eyes may want to be cautious of use in the eye area
I put on sunscreen first, let it dry and I just add a very lightweight foundation or a B.B. cream to my sunscreen at a ratio of 4:1 (4 parts sunscreen to 1 part foundation) and mix well. I keep some in an air tight jar away from light for easy reapplication. If I want more coverage I just add a bit more foundation :-)
Just found your channel, and I am learning so much! I’d be interested in your comparison of these with the It CC Cream that you have used in the past as far as application, wear, and ease of reapplication of sunscreen.
Another one of your exceptional vids. Dr. Dray, your personality is one of a kind. In response to your question, the mascara on your left eye was much bolder and seemed to lift your eyelash more so than the one your right eye. I have tried numerous drug store mascaras, however since I have sensitive eyes, few mascaras work for me. I have tried the Maybelline Colossal Mascara and have liked it. Most recently, I tried the Loreal Telescopic carbon black mascara and was hooked! While it does not give you the volume that the Maybelline Colossal mascara offers, it does gives you the length that the Maybelline brand does not.
I like the Maybelline mascara better - especially when you consider the price. I love IT Cosmetics CC cream and the new IT Bye Bye Foundation. They both have spf 50 and the coverage is great. Thanks for walking us through tinted sunscreens.
Thanks for the video, I bought the cetaphil tinted moisturizer last summer and was surprised how much I liked it. I have some acne scars and it covers them a lot, not completely but it helps me use less foundation. I haven’t been using it over the winter but now that spring is almost here I’ll be using it again!
I have used Elta MD mineral SPF 41 (tinted) for several years now. My daughter in law works for a dermatologist and it's one he recommends. I love it, however it can sometimes feel a little too heavy, when I wear foundation with it. I purchased the Cetaphil sunscreen to try out. The consistency was great, but... I looked like a pumpkin! My skin turned orange!! Next, I tried the La Roche Posey Anthelios 50 mineral tinted and it is a winner! A little pricey, but worth it in the long run. Not at all greasy or heavy feeling. I can not use any of the products with chemical sunscreens, as I react unfavorably to them, so it limits me in what I have to choose from. When I find a good one that I like, I do a happy dance!
Yeah I agree the cetaphil color can come off very orange. The la roche posay one is nice. If you like that then you might like the avene tinted one as well
I needed this! I love your maybeline. I bought a maybeline mascara because of you! Thank you for reviewing!!! I'd probably go with Cetaphil I'm not a big make up girl at all.. I also got my MD Elta UV clear on it's way as well!
Thank you for posting...I was referred by Dr.D. Lim and No Joke I was researching Colorescience 3 in 1 just minutes before watching you video...I'm a New Subbie...
Glad you reviewed the cetaphil tinted sunscreen. It has been sitting in my amazon cart waiting for your approval. I have a dilemma. As a skincare lover, I love purchasing many products. One that I’ve recently finished is the Klairs midnight calming cream. It’s really a dilemma for me to consider repurchasing that as it is slightly pricy but in no way is it a “luxury brand” and it only comes with 30ml. But I’d say that it comes with a very nice packaging for its price, sleek and slightly heavy. And not to mention that the cream itself is a gorgeous BLUE shade. The guaiazulene in it naturally gives it it’s blue shade. Sadly it does have unnecessary essential oils but the cream actually doesn’t smell like anything at all. I don’t put it on every night , usually only when I feel like giving a skin a “treat”. It’s truly a guilty pleasure of mine. I’m truly impressed by the ingredient list of that cetaphil tinted sunscreen at that price. Hope you have a great day and you look fantastic on both sides lol. I’d say the Color science looks more “natural” but I feel like the Maybelline at a cheaper cost gives a more vavavoom, more flare to your lashes.
I just got the elta md tinted sunscreen and im obsessed! Thank you for introducing me!! Its one of the nicest products ive ever used and im even skipping foundation primer now!
Hey Lovely, both tints looked great but the cetaphil is a good price for the size. Def preferred the Maybelline as it adds more volume and definition Xx
I've resisted color science because of the high price tag. I now use Cetaphil and just blot a bit of Urban Decay One and Done on top of it, and it stays in place the whole day. I think I got mine for $11, so you can't beat the price!
Such wonderful tips, Dr. Dray! Today I experimented with using my tinted sunscreen for reapplication over my base and I kept getting more and more orange because I used the proper amount. I think it was a bit too much, unless I want to look like an oompa loompa. I will definitely use your advice and first reapply with my base and then put my "icing" on top. :)
Lefteye is fuller, lashes that is. But i like both eyes. U have the most beautiful lashes ive ever seen anyway. Both tinted sunscreens r great. I couldnt find any difference between either undereye coverage. Good job as always. Thank u.
I love the colossal mascara side.I traded my expensive Chanel mascara for the colossal since I discovered your videos, and I am loving it and the price. Thanks again Dr.Dray, luv ya😘
I love watching your videos!!! You have helped me and my skin SO much, I actually got a compliment on it the other day!! Thank you for all of the information!!!! I was also curious about a product from IT cosmetics that seems comparable to the colorescience 3-in-1, and was wondering your opinion on it. I have been using the colorescience and like it, but the IT cosmetics one, CC+® Eye Color Correcting Full Coverage Cream, is much cheaper. Once again, thank you for putting these videos out here!!! :)
I like the Colourscience sunscreen and Maybelline mascara, but the price of the sunscreen is ridiculous! Avene (US) makes a Complexion Correcting Shield Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50+ that comes in three shades. It’s medium-full coverage, the lightest color is quite fair, it’s fragrance-free, oil-free, made for sensitive skin, contains iron oxide, ceramides, humectants, is quite hydrating, and costs $36 for 40ml/1.35 oz. I L-O-V-E this sunscreen because I’m quite fair and the light is not too dark for me. I layer it over Avene (US) Mineral Light Hydrating Sunscreen Lotion (Face & Body) SPF 50+ that is virtually invisible, fragrance-free, well suited for sensitive skin, lightweight, hydrating, good under makeup and costs $36 for 4.2oz. These two make a perfect combination and the price is quite reasonable given the cost of the Face & Body Sunscreen. 🌞
Hi Andrea, I'd never seen you using an undereye corrector-concealer and so much mascara, WOW, but talking seriously, I've watched recently other youtubers videos, discussing something like "if they use tinted sunscreen then they don't need to apply another sunscreen", those comments worried to me, because we have to use always our traditional untinted sunscreen first on our faces, eyelids, ears, necks and chests we aren't going to use this tinted sunscreens on our ears, necks and chests, really is not what people is going to do, because of that we have to be really sure have applied first the untinted sunscreen and later the tinted one, I've taken out this of my mind, finally. Thank you for another amazing video.xoxo.
What do you think about the Super Goop Setting Mist ? Its a mineral based broad spectrum spf 50 but it states it can be used to reapply spf over makeup. Is it even reliable to spray it over makeup or is it more of a gimmic ?
ambycarr1695 that’s a great idea. Generally sunscreens in spray form don’t provide an ideal coverage but something is better than nothing. People wearing makeup have at least something to apply as second layer of sunscreen. But please correct me if I am wrong. I just checked and saw that it is a purely a chemical sunscreen. I wish it was a mineral only sunscreen😟. I have sensitive skin and try to steer clear of chemical sunscreens. I got so excited for a minute there. Bummer for me ☹️.
I tried the travel size from the Barre to Bar set and I'm not a fan. It smells of alcohol (denatured alcohol is in it) and I found it clings to the very non-visible fuzz on my face and it looks like a fuzz cast :\ I've been looking at the Paula's Choice one myself and there's another mist called Zinc it Out! That i've been curious about.
salsarme Mimi Thank you for pointing that out! I checked the ingredients and it is in fact a chemical sunscreen. Avobenzone based. I’m just curious if any of those sun protection products that claim to be effective over makeup are actually protecting the skin.
Thank you for your review and expertise! I didn’t know about the extra benefits of a tinted sunscreen. 👍🏻 Two questions: (1.) Is benzyl Alcohol bad for people with rosacea and or prone to facial veins? It’s seems to be high on the list for the cetphil sunscreen. I would love an alternative to my more expensive mineral sunscreens. (2.) As for your go to mascara, does it leave any black around your eyes during the day? I’m on a hunt to reduce my raccoon eye mascara. 🙃. Thank you for your time in advance.
One thing I do is use Australian Gold Mineral SPF 50 and mix it with the Ordinary serum foundation. Mixes well and holds up well. Does not break up. Have not tried their tinted sunscreen but have heard good things about it. 😊
that is dangerous....moles of concern should be evaluated, and moles that are deemed safe, but you desire to remove for cosmetic reasons need to be excised
Can’t wait to try the colorscience for under eye dark circles. It looks very natural yet covers well. I would say that I agree with you that the colorscience provided better coverage and then personally I like your colossal mascara! Bigger lashes. Both look lovely on you!
Thank you. Not bad. I think it is pretty natural and it is for sure very pigmented so I find that I only need to use a little. Of course I always make sure to have serval coats of my primary sunscreen. I really wanted to check it out since it was touted as a great concealer with the added sun protection. But yes I do think it is good. 😁
Hi Dr Dray, I was wondering if you have reviewed or tried the product "No 7". I just found your channel and, I just love all the information you give us!!
Recently found your channel and have been binge watching ever since. I have my list going for new skincare and sunscreen. I’ve been one of those consumers who have purchased over priced skincare for years - no more! I’m super close with my Mom and getting her fixed up with new products as well. 💋
Do you have cheat sheet or page where you list your #1 favorite of all the products you like? (Such as your favorite sunblock, bb cream, favorite face mask, favorite, face moisturizer etc)
Dr. Sam Buntings sunscreen video runs parallel to yours. I enjoy both of you along with Dr Davin Lim’s vids as well. So thankful for all the derms who are taking time to share their knowledge.Ty Dr Dray.
Great review. Both sides look nice but the cost difference is considerable. You’ve got me using Maybelline already, I’ll have to try the Cetaphil tinted next. Thanks!!
Yesterday I went straight to Walgreens before heading to work and picked up the tinted sunscreen. 😀 I've been looking for an inexpensive one. Tried it this morning, it passed the test!👍Thank you again for another honest review! You're the best!💞
Great review. I use the Colorscience powder sunscreen spf 50, the one that comes in a tube, with a brush on top. What do you think about that on top of your spf moisturizer?
I like the left eye best. Maybelline is also my fave mascara. I am using lash sensational and I have tried the others and they are all great. The Cetaphil has the added bonus of redness relief. That would be great for me since I tend to have flushing around my nose and cheeks. Awesome review as always Dr Dray and congrats on 80k subs!
Another great video. Thanks for explaining the SPF numbers as well. I'd probably look into the Cetaphil product, I like that you can get similar results and more product for a cheaper price. I'm a die hard Maybelline girl. For the past 40 years. lol
Great video! Would you consider doing a video on some tinted sunscreens that come in multiple colors so that people with darker skin tones could use them? As always thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge!!
Another great video, Thanks Dr. Dray. I have tried the color science, it seems ok, but very watery on my skin. The point about not having this as your main source of protection is important. I definitely think the Mayebliine side looks a lot different, better, thicker and darker lashes. Still asking the question that is asked below, what would be your recommendation for reapplication of SPF over makeup, if you wore make up?
Yet another awesome video. I watch your videos more then anything else, thank you again for explaining everything so well. And your natural beauty is cherry on top 😍 I really enjoy all your videos.
YAY ME! I had just heard about it cosmetics cc cream and since you said you used it that makes me think it’s not as problematic in clogging pores. It cosmetics cc cream has SPF 50
I went on a wild goose chase trying to find the cetaphil tinted moisturizer, I went to two cvs's a Walmart and the NEX but I finally found it at Walgreens,, there was only 1 left! Can't wait to try it tomorrow!
TY for explaining SPF and all sunscreen info. I don't understand why companies offer tinted sunscreen in only one shade. Always too dark for me unless I got a tan, which I'm trying to avoid!
I have combo skin. I find the tinted sun screen to be on the drier side. It works best for me in FL. When I'm in Colorado, where it's super dry, I need to moisturize my skin before I apply it. That's just my experience.
I tried the regular version in the starter set and it’s amazing. The retinol and vitamin c by that brand are amazing. I was shook that the sunscreen didn’t leave much of a white cast. It still didn’t play well with my facial hair and it kind of pilled over my other skin care products. It’s still pretty good and the price is reasonable.
Our local Aldi (in Belgium) has moisturizers for the day & night, and there is a tinted one in there, all of them with hyaluronic acid. Unfortunately there's only one tint and it's quite beige in tint so I think it would suit light (not too light) to perhaps medium tones. It's 2.49 euro for 30ml of product - not too shabby.
Great video Dr Dray. The tinted sunscreen you applied in this video looks very nice and do not look you are wearing makeup at all. I know that those tinted sunscreens help to cover dark sunspots. As a man, Do you believe the colorescience total eye could be a good option for around the eyes? I don't use makeup and I don't want to make it noticeable if I apply that product, so if i shade it very well maybe it could be less visible? Thanks.
I think it would be helpful for sure if you have acne or ingrown hairs on the face to give them some extra protection via iron oxides against the visible light that can drive post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation
Hey Andrea! Great info! I use the It cosmetics Cc cream occasionally and now I know I need the sunscreen underneath as well! I may just try the cetaphil next time😊 i've often wondered about the color science but that's a little too pricey for me! I do like your tried and true mascara look better. Have a great day💕
Hey Dr. Dray! Have you seen the new DOVE skin care line? It’s call Dove DermaSeries. I’ve seen it at CVS and Target. It’s ALL fragrance free! Would love to hear your thoughts on it. Got my first Coolibar order this week! Can’t thank you enough for all the wonderful information. Thanks for sharing your brain with us. ❤️👍🏻
Thanks for the video! I'll definitely look into the Cetaphil one. I also use the Neutrogena chemical sunscreen. Are there any issues when mixing chemical and physical sunscreens? Like do any of the chemical filters stop working when in contact with the zinc oxide or titanium dioxide?
Hi Dr Dray, I have a video suggestions please (I did look to see if you had it already but I could not find one) It would be great to see one on how to spot when a mole changes and when you should be concerned. I am quite moley, and my husband even more so I know that us and a few others out there would benefit from knowing what to look out for to avoid possible cancers. thank you!!
Aloha Ms Andrea! Love this Video! I think your Maybelline mascara looks better on the lashes! And I’ve just ordered the Cetaphil redness spf! Can’t wait to try it out! 🤙🏻❤️
If you don't want to pay for a tinted sunscreen or you have darker toned skin, you could try what I do! I take my favorite cheap foundation in a few shades darker than what I normally wear and mix a little bit with my favorite sunscreen in a small container. Tinted to my preference and easy to carry around!
🎈🎉Congratulations on the 80K subbies!🎉🎈& great vid! I would be a proponent of the Cetaphil as the Color Science pricepoint is daunting on my budget. I have been known to add a dab of sunscreen to my daily foundation applied on top of my layer of sunscreen.
So I can put caffeine in my body AND on my face?! Sold. 😆 In all seriousness, I am going to try out the cetaphil tinted because I am actually giving up foundation and base makeups. I have the it cos. Cc cream, and it has great coverage, but that lemon-y fragrance in it makes me a bit itchy. 😉 Happy Monday!
I had heard that you cannot just use the tinted sunscreen alone, but need to apply just sunscreen first. I agree that no one applies as much as you would need to reach the spf number. I use the big yellow mascara too as it works and costs less.🤗
If you haven’t already, can you please review the Supergoop spf50 cc cream? It has 20% zinc oxide and 2% titanium dioxide. They also have a sunscreen setting mist that you can apply over makeup during the day.
Love that these are physical sunscreen tinted moisturizers- chemical sunscreens trigger my cystic acne, and most makeup products containing spf is unfortunately a chemical spf 95% of the time.
Why does the amount of zinc oxide not matter in mineral sunscreens? A lot of sites online say 20% or higher is the best. Great videos and love that you're in my city😍 right eye is my favorite.
Dear Dr. Dray, another very informative video about sunscreen! So layering an SPF moisturizer like for example CeraVe AM and then a top layer of let's say Avene Complexion Correcting Shield SPF 50+ would be appropriate for extra sun protection plus a hint of color coverage and iron oxides? Or is it just redundant to use both?
You've helped me break out of the trance of skin care/makeup obsession. I've simplified my routine since I started watched two days ago and my skin is already much happier! Thank you for what you do!
:)
Same!!
You've brought my sun protection awareness to a whole new level, in just a few short weeks.
Thank you! 😊
Glad to hear :)
Hands down my favorite channel! Thank you Dr Dray
Thanks!
Yes!

Agreed.
Very true. Maybe if sunscreen became more popular here then they would make other colors for tinted sunscreen
Excellent video. I just ordered the Cetaphil Tinted cream from Amazon. The IT CC Cream SPF50 is my favorite; it offers great coverage and has never irritated my skin. The Maybelline Colossal lashes look fuller and longer to me. Have a great night.
Cetaphil is one of the best skin care products ever.
I just spent some time this morning looking through your videos for suggestions on tinted sunscreen. This is great! Can't thank you enough for the content you put out. It's changed my life so much for the better.
Thanks!

Dr Dray well it’s amazing, thanks doctor 🙆🏽♂️❣️
Love that Mac product! I use it over the Nivea ss ....the good doctor introduced to us!!
joann orlando I want to try the Nivea sunscreen! I love the biore one too!
Aaron Bear you will love it
Good morning gorgeous!! Today’s video was quick and sweet ❤️ also I love how Dr. Davin Lim totally gave you a shout out on his channel!!! Love both of your channels! Have a great Monday 💋
Chase Murray thank you so much and I am honored by the shoutout
I'm really liking my Elta MD sunscreen in the tinited version. It's very cosmetically elegant, not at all heavy, applies nicely (and lasts). Good luck with the job search Ms Annabel :)
Thanks!. Evidently, I have an offer pending from Neurosurgery, which is encouraging :)
I know you’ve recommended Head & Shoulders for the beard area and other areas on the body for certain skin conditions. So I just wanted to let you know that they now have a completely fragrance free shampoo and shampoo+conditioner in their lineup.
Dave A yes!
80 K! Woohoo!!! Congratulations!!!!!
Thank you so much for your support Ms Deborah
Love Elta MD tinted!!! Have been using it for years on my sensitive mixed skin. Doesn't look yellow, doesn't break me out. Perfection in a bottle:)
Glad to hear Ms Christina :) I like it that one as well
I thought the Maybelline side looked a tad thicker and longer. Both sunscreens looked fine, but the Cetaphil is more in my budget. I can use a dab of concealer on the darker spots. Great review as always!
:) Happy Monday Ms Sherry :)
Hi Sherry G, it's a great idea, applying tinted sunscreen on the dark spots.
Hi Roxann S, do you think it'll cover my brown spots as well like concealers do?🙂
Great and informative video!
Can you make a video on all Cetaphil facial products.
I agree, I loved the CeraVe product review. It would be great to have one for some of the different Cetaphil products. I would like to know about the Pro Dermacontrol oil control products especially. They have a newer SPF30 moisturizer that I hear really good things about.
She never did one :(
She did a video on Top 10 cetaphil skin care products. She's talking about:
1. DermControl Purifying Clay Mask
2. Daily Hydrating Lotion
3. Pro Oil Absorbing Moisturizer SPF 30
4. Redness Relieving Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF 20
5. Redness Relieving Night Moisturizer
6. Pro Eczema Soothing Moisturizer
7. Intensive Healing Lotion with Ceramides
8. Moisturizing Cream
9. Ultra Gentle Body Wash Fragrance Free
10. Soothing Gel Cream with Aloe
I love the color science ! Really looks great under my eyes and brightens the area.
Great informative video. I would go with the Maybelline mascara ansd Cetaphil.
Thanks!
Great review. Thank you! I already own the IT CC Cream and I will purchase the Cetaphil since it’s so affordable. I’ll skip the Colorscience and purchase one of those adorable Coolibar bucket hats instead. 😊👍✌🏼❤️
Thanks!
I have both and I honestly like the cetaphil better!
Meaghan me too! So much easier to apply and blend too. But it’s too dark of a shade for me without a tan :(
The price for the Color science is ridiculous. Nice product but unnecessary. All you need is a good spf and a drugstore concealer. Maybeline 'FIT ME' has a great one for your complexion :)
X2Y2 Yes! Wet n wild photo focus concealer and Maybelline fit me are the best, in my opinion. ❤️
Not clean though.
She is giving suggestions for everyone. I absolutely love color science, and feel it’s worth every penny.
Janet El-Rabaa I agree. The ones they are mentioning don’t fall in line with any of Dr.Drays recommendations.
It stings my eyes too! My dermatologist says the Neutrogena baby sunscreen is tear free, I wanna try that one next
Thanks!
Love the video! Bought the Cetaphil one and loves the feel of it on my skin but it burns my eyes. Anyone with sensitive eyes may want to be cautious of use in the eye area
80,000 congratulations!!!!!!
Thanks so much for your support Ms Jami :)
:)
Thanks! I may have to try that one sometime
Thank you for this review! I was thinking about buying the Colorscience but now I’m going to try the Cetaphil, much better price!
I like the Maybelline mascara better - especially when you consider the price. I love IT Cosmetics CC cream and the new IT Bye Bye Foundation. They both have spf 50 and the coverage is great. Thanks for walking us through tinted sunscreens.
The Cetaphyl and Maybelline side ❤
:)
:)
If you like that then you might like the avene tinted one as well
Dr Dray Thank you, I'll keep that in mind.
I needed this! I love your maybeline. I bought a maybeline mascara because of you! Thank you for reviewing!!! I'd probably go with Cetaphil I'm not a big make up girl at all..
I also got my MD Elta UV clear on it's way as well!
I love the EltaMD UV clear :)
Thank you for posting...I was referred by Dr.D. Lim and No Joke I was researching Colorescience 3 in 1 just minutes before watching you video...I'm a New Subbie...
Glad you found me :)
I'm currently binge watching your video's... So informative and great sense of humor...
:)
I just got the elta md tinted sunscreen and im obsessed! Thank you for introducing me!! Its one of the nicest products ive ever used and im even skipping foundation primer now!
so glad to hear you like them too :)
Hey Lovely, both tints looked great but the cetaphil is a good price for the size. Def preferred the Maybelline as it adds more volume and definition Xx
Thanks!
Thank u.
Thanks! Happy Monday
I love the colossal mascara side.I traded my expensive Chanel mascara for the colossal since I discovered your videos, and I am loving it and the price. Thanks again Dr.Dray, luv ya😘
love it too :)
i like the avene ones too
Hi Andrea, I'd never seen you using an undereye corrector-concealer and so much mascara, WOW, but talking seriously, I've watched recently other youtubers videos, discussing something like "if they use tinted sunscreen then they don't need to apply another sunscreen", those comments worried to me, because we have to use always our traditional untinted sunscreen first on our faces, eyelids, ears, necks and chests we aren't going to use this tinted sunscreens on our ears, necks and chests, really is not what people is going to do, because of that we have to be really sure have applied first the untinted sunscreen and later the tinted one, I've taken out this of my mind, finally. Thank you for another amazing video.xoxo.
you need to reapply base layer for sure
What do you think about the Super Goop Setting Mist ? Its a mineral based broad spectrum spf 50 but it states it can be used to reapply spf over makeup. Is it even reliable to spray it over makeup or is it more of a gimmic ?
ambycarr1695 that is what I want, something I can put over my makeup later in the day.
ambycarr1695 that’s a great idea.
I’m curious about this as well.
🙃. Thank you for your time in advance.
no, but no way to know what will bother rosacea prone skin...it is pretty individualized
no the maybelline (nor the CS for that matter) does that smudgy thing
One thing I do is use Australian Gold Mineral SPF 50 and mix it with the Ordinary serum foundation. Mixes well and holds up well. Does not break up. Have not tried their tinted sunscreen but have heard good things about it. 😊
I didn't have good luck with their tinted one, but it is popular and good spf
I think the Maybelline Colossal side lashes look a bit thicker. Great video!
they are different; Thanks!
The Maybeline side for sure! Thx and FYI I just ordered the Cetaphil for under $10 online at Target 😍
:)
Can you do a video with your opinion on those mole removal pens that burn off brown spots?
that is dangerous....moles of concern should be evaluated, and moles that are deemed safe, but you desire to remove for cosmetic reasons need to be excised
How about brown spots (like sun spots0? I think that's what most people are using them for. Search UA-cam for spot removal pen to see.
Can’t wait to try the colorscience for under eye dark circles. It looks very natural yet covers well. I would say that I agree with you that the colorscience provided better coverage and then personally I like your colossal mascara! Bigger lashes. Both look lovely on you!
Thanks! Let me know how you like it :) Hope you are having a great night :)
Thank you.
I just found your channel and, I just love all the information you give us!!
i haven't seen anything from them i could recommend tbh
Recently found your channel and have been binge watching ever since. I have my list going for new skincare and sunscreen. I’ve been one of those consumers who have purchased over priced skincare for years - no more! I’m super close with my Mom and getting her fixed up with new products as well. 💋
Do you have cheat sheet or page where you list your #1 favorite of all the products you like? (Such as your favorite sunblock, bb cream, favorite face mask, favorite, face moisturizer etc)
Your skin looks amazing! Great review!
Dr. Sam Buntings sunscreen video runs parallel to yours. I enjoy both of you along with Dr Davin Lim’s vids as well. So thankful for all the derms who are taking time to share their knowledge.Ty Dr Dray.
Congrats on 80K! Left is best!
Thanks so much for your support Ms Karen :)
Great review. Both sides look nice but the cost difference is considerable. You’ve got me using Maybelline already, I’ll have to try the Cetaphil tinted next. Thanks!!
So glad this review happening! I have been thinking about looking into a Tinted SPF.
thanks :)
Yesterday I went straight to Walgreens before heading to work and picked up the tinted sunscreen. 😀 I've been looking for an inexpensive one. Tried it this morning, it passed the test!👍Thank you again for another honest review! You're the best!💞
glad to hear you liked it :)
Great review. I use the Colorscience powder sunscreen spf 50, the one that comes in a tube, with a brush on top. What do you think about that on top of your spf moisturizer?
powder does not reliably distribute spf
Thank ya so much for such a great review and also for the coupon code, who doesn't luv saving a little money? You're the best!! XOXO Sharon
Happy Monday :)
For the past 40 years. lol
maybe she's born with it? lol! I like their mascara alot
Great video! Would you consider doing a video on some tinted sunscreens that come in multiple colors so that people with darker skin tones could use them? As always thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge!!
Thanks!
Dr Dray i need it too!
Another great video, Thanks Dr. Dray. I have tried the color science, it seems ok, but very watery on my skin. The point about not having this as your main source of protection is important.
I definitely think the Mayebliine side looks a lot different, better, thicker and darker lashes.
Still asking the question that is asked below, what would be your recommendation for reapplication of SPF over makeup, if you wore make up?
spf needs to be reapplied to the entire face, yes
Which one did u honestly like better not considering the price Dr Dray?
I am a sunscreen addict thanks to you.
Yet another awesome video. I watch your videos more then anything else, thank you again for explaining everything so well. And your natural beauty is cherry on top 😍 I really enjoy all your videos.
Thanks!
YAY ME! I had just heard about it cosmetics cc cream and since you said you used it that makes me think it’s not as problematic in clogging pores.
It cosmetics cc cream has SPF 50
:)
I went on a wild goose chase trying to find the cetaphil tinted moisturizer, I went to two cvs's a Walmart and the NEX but I finally found it at Walgreens,, there was only 1 left! Can't wait to try it tomorrow!
hope you like it :)
TY for explaining SPF and all sunscreen info. I don't understand why companies offer tinted sunscreen in only one shade. Always too dark for me unless I got a tan, which I'm trying to avoid!
You have no hyperpigmentation. You’re skin is beautiful, and flawless.
I so agree.
So true!
Thanks!
Sunscreen 😉
I love the tinted sunscreen by MyChelle. I saw that listed above. So nice.
Me too! I think it's wonderful!
Hi! What type of skin do you have? I was wondering if it is good for my combination skin.
I have combo skin. I find the tinted sun screen to be on the drier side. It works best for me in FL. When I'm in Colorado, where it's super dry, I need to moisturize my skin before I apply it. That's just my experience.
Thank you so much for the reply! I think I am going to try it after I am finished with my Shiseido - Senka Aging Care Essence UV Sunscreen SPF 50
Marleen G. Thanks for sharing this! I wonder if aldi here has that?
I shop Aldi in Miami, Florida and have not seen LaCura tinted moisturizers, however, I will keep an eye on it.
Have been using both these products, so far I like them. Wish they sold tinted one here in Ohio. Love my Aldi store😍
I LOVE WATCHING YOUR VIDEOS! They’re so helpful.
Hey Andrea! Great info! I use the It cosmetics Cc cream occasionally and now I know I need the sunscreen underneath as well! I may just try the cetaphil next time😊 i've often wondered about the color science but that's a little too pricey for me! I do like your tried and true mascara look better. Have a great day💕
Thanks!
Hey Dr. ❤️👍🏻
yes
Thanks doctor for all the information. Love your video
I been waiting for this video 😍
I just plain LOVE you....seriously....You are a joy! Have a great day!! :)
Can't wait to try this thank you for all your reviews they are really helpful
I add Clinique bronze gelee to my face spf ...to make it match my skin tone. Thank you for your videos :)
:)
Hi Dr Dray, I have a video suggestions please (I did look to see if you had it already but I could not find one) It would be great to see one on how to spot when a mole changes and when you should be concerned. I am quite moley, and my husband even more so I know that us and a few others out there would benefit from knowing what to look out for to avoid possible cancers. thank you!!
:)
Aloha Ms Andrea! Love this Video! I think your Maybelline mascara looks better on the lashes! And I’ve just ordered the Cetaphil redness spf! Can’t wait to try it out! 🤙🏻❤️
Happy Monday :) Hope you like the cetaphil one :)
If you don't want to pay for a tinted sunscreen or you have darker toned skin, you could try what I do! I take my favorite cheap foundation in a few shades darker than what I normally wear and mix a little bit with my favorite sunscreen in a small container. Tinted to my preference and easy to carry around!
that may alter the spf of the product
🎈🎉Congratulations on the 80K subbies!🎉🎈& great vid! I would be a proponent of the Cetaphil as the Color Science pricepoint is daunting on my budget. I have been known to add a dab of sunscreen to my daily foundation applied on top of my layer of sunscreen.
Thanks so much!
Great video Dr Dray thx! Would you recommend Australian Gold mineral (tinted) face lotion spf 50 ?
So I can put caffeine in my body AND on my face?! Sold. 😆 In all seriousness, I am going to try out the cetaphil tinted because I am actually giving up foundation and base makeups. I have the it cos. Cc cream, and it has great coverage, but that lemon-y fragrance in it makes me a bit itchy. 😉 Happy Monday!
lol!
I had heard that you cannot just use the tinted sunscreen alone, but need to apply just sunscreen first. I agree that no one applies as much as you would need to reach the spf number. I use the big yellow mascara too as it works and costs less.🤗
I love maybelline mascara
If you haven’t already, can you please review the Supergoop spf50 cc cream? It has 20% zinc oxide and 2% titanium dioxide. They also have a sunscreen setting mist that you can apply over makeup during the day.
Please show us how you reapply the sunscreens. Do you reapply both the base and the tinted? Thank you for all your informative videos (new subbie!)
Love that these are physical sunscreen tinted moisturizers- chemical sunscreens trigger my cystic acne, and most makeup products containing spf is unfortunately a chemical spf 95% of the time.
yes and the avobenzone and cinnamates in the exclusive chemical ones can sting around the eyes
I would like to see some videos about hair fall and possible solutions. Thanks in advance
i have a whole playlist of hair videos
Why does the amount of zinc oxide not matter in mineral sunscreens? A lot of sites online say 20% or higher is the best. Great videos and love that you're in my city😍 right eye is my favorite.
Dear Dr. Dray, another very informative video about sunscreen! So layering an SPF moisturizer like for example CeraVe AM and then a top layer of let's say Avene Complexion Correcting Shield SPF 50+ would be appropriate for extra sun protection plus a hint of color coverage and iron oxides? Or is it just redundant to use both?
