Actually when you eat out at restaurants, you can ask the staff to give you extra plate or bowl so that the other person can enjoy eating the food while at the same time you can also try their food. Always remember when ordering food, to tell them during the ordering, not to make it spicy. Just tell them "No pedas".
To Pana san, just continue communicating with the locals in English. For some Malaysians, their English is also not so fluent but we don't look down on each other. Feel free to speak English eventhough its broken English. Its ok Pana san. We appreciate your effort. If you watch Mayumie channel, her children are also slowly learning English and getting more confident interacting with the locals. All because they don't pressure themselves and just chill.
I can see that towards the end, daddy is eating up all the food. If you can't finish, you can ask them to take away. Next time you see sambal with a dish, you should add the sambal bit by bit or just leave out the sambal if you cannot handle the spicyness.

Actually, if you order food in Malaysia , you can tell them in advance that it should not be spicy, less spicy, or not sweet, less sweet, and even hamburgers can ask for less sauce.

Try cantonese-style noodles (yellow mee, koay teow, or even mixed) next time. Comes with lots of light gravy; not spicy at all. As for Pana's English skills, force yourself to speak it. Even if simple phrases. Don't worry about mistakes. Malaysians are generally very patient and tolerant in this respect. We mix all sorts of local languages in one sentence!

The famous 3 kids character in our text book during my school days representing 3 main ethnicities (Malay, Chinese & Indian) are Ali, Ah Kaw and Muthu. These 3 friends teach us lots of social harmony between ethnic groups in Malaysia and I don't know if they still have the same character names in school textbook nowadays, but as you can see, Ah Kaw there is replaced by Ah Hock. Apparently this is a chain restaurant and they can't use Ah Kaw because there is a restaurant called Ali, Ah Kaw dan Muthu in Bangi area.
