Paul Hunt was an accomplished student gymnast who trained and competed at the University of Illinois as an undergraduate. He gained notoriety through not only his own competitive successes whilst studying, but also through his alter-ego; Paula Hunt, who was allowed to appear at various state gymnastics championships in the USA after he had graduated.
To be bad at something, you've got to be brilliant at it in the first place...and this is a humerous example of that adage!
