@@erikrobinson2547 Yes, I don't know of any transcriptions he did but may have. "Reminiscences" is a genre Liszt invented which is sort of a fantasie or impromptu based on thematic material from a specific opera

As both an italian and a concert pianist I love both your message of solidarity to all of Europe and your mission to bring light to Liszt's more obscure and neglected works! Thank you!
Thanks for your kind wishes from Italian quarantine whose spleen is certainly alleviated by your music and all other UA-camr friends. Particularly welcome paraphrase on Mercadante unjustly forgotten although Liszt must have appreciated him otherwise wouldn't have made any effort about his music As it comes to why this wonderful piece is lesser known amongst Liszt paraphrase sets I think it's also because it's less flamboyant and may not attract pianists because ratio "applause's yield" / difficulty is unfavorable. This piece is mostly for connoisseurs....not a de salon one as you correctly pointed out

Andrei Cristian Anghel Hey i have a question, all of the Réminiscences are Fantasies on the themes of the operas and not direct transcriptions right?

This channel is a gold mine. Liszt's output was insane.
Phenomenal

I'm officially addicted to the gallop. Please do a 10 hour version.
Jajaja too
Sorry, re is no 10 hour version, if your serious here.
The intro chords remind me of Alkan piano concerto
How come nobody is performing these pieces? They are so lovely and I haven't come across any other recordings of them.
I have
Because they're hard lmao
"Il galop" reminds me of Liszt's transcription of the hunters' chorus from Weber's Freischütz S. 151.
Thanks alot for uploading these with sheets! Gianluca's outstanding peformance deserves wide recognition

ANDREI, THANKS FOR MAKING THE VIRUS SITUATION ALMOST BEARABLE !!!
5:05 I dunno why that kind of reminds me of some anthem.
Probably because it sounds kinda march-y.
