Imagine a tiny village in Transylvania between the snow-capped mountain peaks, long ago, at the turn of the 19-20. centuries. In the autumn evening, the songs are drawn at a dance party. The souls of all who were there live in this beautiful music.
A very interesting piece. More accessible than his two violin concertos.

Wunderschöne und spannende Aufführung dieses spätromantischen und ein bisschen exotischen Konzertstücks mit seidigem doch teilweise neue-sachlichem Ton der genialen und technisch perfekten Solovioline sowie gut vereinigten und perfekt entsprechenden Tönen der anderen Instrumente. Der erfahrene und intelligente Maestro dirigiert das ausgezeichnete Orchester im gut phrasierten Tempo und mit möglichst effektiver Dynamik. Wundervoll und atemberaubend zugleich!
Das Tempo phrasiert man nicht. Man spricht dabei von Agogik

Bartok’s violin concerto no 2 is one of my most favourite of violin repertoire 😂. Why do you not like it?

Absolutely not. Both the concertos and rhapsodies are equally great, but in different ways. The orchestration in the second concerto is quite unparalleled
