Would they be okay with how I’m portraying their characters?” and stuff like that. So thank you X for answering this question! This’ll be very helpful for future reference 💜
X, it's been a few seasons for me. Had a few kids and now my oldest is into Minecraft and I get to share your content with him, so I'm back to enjoy your creativity and positive spirit. Thanks for what you do brother.

on building discipline: My understanding is that ignoring excuses is a muscle that often needs to be strengthened gradually. Some people have some massive involuntary change in their life, and use that hardship to change a lot. If you don't have that, pick something small you know you can talk yourself into: - always brush your teeth at night - always make your bed - always take the stairs - always check your pockets before you leave a place - etc Do it until it's second nature and you realize you haven't been thinking about it. You don't "have to do it", it's just "what I do" (even if it's annoying). Then add something else small. Jumping to something too drastic can lead to you depriving yourself of something you're relying on by accident, and dropping the habit after a few months when you can't take it, whether or not you know why. (If you try to replace playing games online with exercise, but the games were your main social time, your "noble solo quest" might feel very isolating after a while, for example) The goal isn't to become your perfect self, it's to build a good habit, and you do that slowly. Be kind to yourself and remember that feeling bad about things you did in the past generally isn't motivating. Try to give yourself something to aspire to, rather than just something to avoid.
Great Q&A X, thanks for taking the time to put it together. You have a great rhythm in your videos, and I love that you take the time to enjoy it because that makes it so much more enjoyable for us. Cheers to a great season!
These are always some of my favorite episodes. I love how candid and genuine you are with us. Your response to the person asking about pausing your videos and if that impacts your analytics really shows you're only here for the audience/community, not the algorithm. Thanks for all the years of great content, X!
Yay! Thanks for answering my question. I appreciate the clarification. I don't really mess with anything outside of the vanilla game, so all the mods and ad-ons are a little over my head. It's nice to have a better understanding. 😌👍
Thank you for this video and all your content! You were actually the first Minecraft UA-camr I ever saw (one of your tutorials) and now I'm following you on Hermitcraft years later! Thanks for all the great content!
Hey Xisuma! Catching up on the hermit craft series and i have to say i really admire your respect towards others and positive outlook and attitude on life. I know that takes a lot of self discipline and work, especially in the content creator sphere. It is really impressive and inspiring to witness. Thank you!
FYI. In America we have jelly which is made from juice of the fruit. Then we have jam which has small amounts of fruit. Then there is preserves which are made of and contain whole fruit or parts of fruits.
Xumia! You answered a lot of questions and it's great. Thank you. Thank you for opening yourself up to us and sharing. And also thank you for giving amazing content that can get me through my day
8:40 Time spent between Playing, Recording, and editing… To whom ever asked this question. Xisuma answer is fine, but I feel like a bit more information is needed. There is no real answer. While my own Let’s play is currently dead in the water I found that from week to week this varied based on what it was I wanted to work on, go do such as raid ancient cities, OR wanted a special graphic/video element. For instance most of my space ship scenes were done in a day… pending my own voice acting tripping over words. The script for those stories varied greatly!! Sometimes I knew what I wanted on Sunday of that week… other times I was scrambling Saturday night for an idea. Gathering materials for a build always took far longer than actually building, as any Hermit or otherwise will agree. This all boiled down to “do I have all the blocks I need or not?” If I had more than enough blocks… then I’d end up doing more talky bits… if I didn’t than simply gathering. Either way you slice it you spend more time in game not recording than you do recording… which sometimes is annoying when something hilarious happens. For instance a creeper has blown up my storage room once and my front door about 5 times… NONE of which was caught on camera. That’s why if you go through my stuff and look for me at my storage… there is a Scar amount of cats there. 😂 As for editing time… same thing this varied from week to week. Normally, a few hours… 2-6. One time it was about 5 days… the video simply would not render, I tried over and over again, remaking the video about a dozen times before it just magically rendered. In an early video there is an animation of typing text… this only took me 12-18 hours to create… without animation software. 😵💫
Wish I'd seen the post about questions before hand, would've asked about tips for learning the guitar. I started learning last month and try to get 15-30 mins in everyday. It's been rough so far (my finger tips on my left hand are basically always tingling and sensitive now, like they're recovering from a burn) but also fun. It's grindy but it feels right to me so I'm excited to see how it goes. It was nice to hear about your experience learning the guitar though, even if it was brief. Hopefully I'll catch the next Q&A; I'm curious to see how far I'll get by then and what kind of questions I might have for you. Also, I just really appreciate your outlook on life and your approach. You seem like a really good person, of course I know we only see what you publish which is definitely the best of you, but regardless, the best of you looks amazing so keep on keeping on and I hope life blesses you with everything you've ever dreamed of and hoped for, even if it comes in a different form than you were expecting (as it usually does lol) ❤
I came across hermitcraft from Mumbo around the end of season 4, and it just expanded for me. Xisuma has become one of my favorite creators on this platform, and I’m always excited to see what his vids have to show. He really inspires me to learn more and be more creative. God willing I wanna create my own channel one day, in the meantime, I love watching and listening to his content. Thanks for being amazing Xisuma 🎉
Nice, thanks for the vid X! Appreciate you blitzing through so many questions in such a compact format. Would love to have more in-depth answers on certain things, always some follow on questions from answers etc, but this was great. Is this something you think you'd be alright with doing somewhat semi-regularly? In relation to the "how do you stay motivated?" question, I loved your answer to that. I work for myself as well, and man.. discipline is key hey. Some days I just don't want to work, and other days I want to work for longer than I should! I'm still new to this, and working maybe more than I should/less than I should on certain days, and admittedly I'm struggling with finding the balance but I'm also really enjoying the freedom of choice - I haven't been having regular weeks (i.e. mon-fri with sat/sun off) because I enjoy the freedom of choosing when to work, and I find I work better when my head-space is more obliging to me getting stuck into the groove of it all. Ramble ramble... Lots of love and support, chur!
I love Q and A sessions. It is like having a row of people on the couch in an interview, but it is just you. I love to learn who a content creator is so I enjoy their content more. Thanks!
15:19 possibly my favorite non meme quote I’ve ever heard from Xisuma. For any Minecraft server we’re all here to have fun so keep any political or social issues for off server time.
I've only been playing Minecraft for maybe 4 years now, but I just started watching hermitcraft this season. Learning so much from your vids, thank you so much!
I really liked this episode. I watch several of the hermits, but i don't usually watch streams or second channel content- so the occasional q&a or story episode like what Rendog did are very cool for me. It adds depth to the server that i really appreciate
thanks for entertaining my meshuggah question, new millennium cyanide christ is such a good choice! my fav is probably straws pulled at random for that sweet sweet outro
Now that you mention it grian did bring a lot of interactivity with him hermits would still meet up before him but with him he brought more willingness to have games or rp and get people involved and I assume that lead to yall wanting to use the voice mod which drastically boosted hermitcraft to another level of creative space instead of just a canvas for painting in blocks it feels more like a place
11:28 That was something I'm also curious about. That's not usually your case, because your videos tend to be on the short side, but there are sometimes videos that I watch a bit, I watch another video, I watch a bit more, etc. I'm particularly curious If it is better to watch as soon as it appears, even if I have to watch in multiple parts, or if it is better to wait and watch the next day all in one go.
@11:30 this is me most of the time. I will start a video while i'm eating then come back and finish it later lol. I always make sure to watch to the end though :D
reccomendation for your music blog: I know it's well outside your usual shtick, but the Welsh Hip-Hop artist Ren and is first full album "Sick Boi" has been slowly replacing the air I breathe ever since it released just under a year ago. It's about his struggles being bedridden for several years with Lyme disease
Dang, I remember when that "Professional Minecrafters" video came out! That was the one where you all got super lost before even getting to the stronghold, right? 🤭I've been gone from the HC community for a long time heh, but I've always loved your content :)
13:16 that's a brilliant answer X! I'm Ukrainian, living in warzone for few years now, and I always question "what's wrong with these people, it's 21st century, why are you still doing something so barbaric?" If only others can leave by your principals...
When Xisuma talks about his leadership in and around Hermitcraft, I do wish he'd give himself a little more credit. It really does take the community and leadership really is more like stewardship, so I don't disagree with anything he says. I'm coming to learn that the skills needed to facilitate that in any community are extraordinarily rare. I've been getting my license to be a school principal and I've been taking these leadership courses on top of it. The soft and often invisible skills of leadership are not something we teach in schools and are not always picked up "naturally" by people. The fact that Xisuma can play a role in stewarding a community like Hermitcraft, with the support and stewardship/leadership of others as well is a notable feat and I hope Xisuma recognizes that, because those skills are something special and worth teaching others and reflecting on.
'I know that it'll happen eventually,' super sad to hear that, but hey, acceptance is the best way to overcome an eventuality. Also, your comments on the darker side of Humanity and how we aren't 'above' these things now, that we are still capable of doing this, is very wise. If you do not learn from history, you are doomed to repeat it.
its nice to hear that your favourite on screen moment was the season 3 dragon fight Season 3 and 4 are my favoruite seasons, and still influence how i do minecraft today The earlier seasons are underrated (although that doesnt take away what grain has done) It may not be as polished as modern hermitcraft, but the first 4 seasons added most of the things that made hermitcraft, hermitcraft although i would like to re-ask a question 15:15 "Also side question- what are the preferred pronouns for you/your character(s)?" You answered "As for pronouns, i dont really care for them much, you can address me however you like, and thats fine" - which is great that you are progressive and arent defensive of the topic, but you did kind of give a non-answer (although everywhere uses he/him for you, so it is kind of a non-question, but i guess its asking for confirmation) For example You may be fine with whatever, but if someone refered to you using she/her, you may get confused/startled for it being unexpected (And based on your reaction to grain calling you X-i-zoomer-void, in season 6, that another comment pointed out, my guess might be correct) and my point being, even if you wouldnt be offended for someone using the incorrect pronouns, you can still have prefered pronouns So "what are the preferred pronouns for you/your character(s)?" or more accurately, could you confirm your pronouns
One more thing: my interpretation of they/them If someone says they're pronouns are he/him, she/her, she/they... etc, basically anything other than they/them We can/should be able to assume we are allowed to use they/them as a safe backup word as well Unless someone specifically asks to not be called using singular they/them - So basically, when saying pronouns, unless you're pronouns are they/them, or requesting not to use they/them, you dont need to worry about mentioning your thoughts on they/them
I am not surprised X is into Meshuggah. I am surprised he named a song I didn't know 😅. I hope that super metal band that Doc talked about is gonna happen at some point

Jumping to something too drastic can lead to you depriving yourself of something you're relying on by accident, and dropping the habit after a few months when you can't take it, whether or not you know why. (If you try to replace playing games online with exercise, but the games were your main social time, your "noble solo quest" might feel very isolating after a while, for example)
The goal isn't to become your perfect self, it's to build a good habit, and you do that slowly.
Be kind to yourself and remember that feeling bad about things you did in the past generally isn't motivating. Try to give yourself something to aspire to, rather than just something to avoid.
Love your answers to most of these questions. You seem grounded and well-rounded and another word that ends in -ounded. New respect unlocked.
Great Q&A X, thanks for taking the time to put it together. You have a great rhythm in your videos, and I love that you take the time to enjoy it because that makes it so much more enjoyable for us. Cheers to a great season!
2:45 LOL not a picky eater but also enjoys eating plain boiled chicken
I think thats pretty case in point him not being a picky eater
These are always some of my favorite episodes. I love how candid and genuine you are with us. Your response to the person asking about pausing your videos and if that impacts your analytics really shows you're only here for the audience/community, not the algorithm. Thanks for all the years of great content, X!
I like Q&A videos, getting to know the creator a little better makes it easier to remember there’s a person behind the screen
has Hermitcraft ever asked Pixlriffs to join? Your epic and such a wonderful person.
Thank you!
I enjoyed the Q&A! Thanks for taking a minute to do that
FYI. In America we have jelly which is made from juice of the fruit. Then we have jam which has small amounts of fruit. Then there is preserves which are made of and contain whole fruit or parts of fruits.
Really cool to see you also love history! I'm majoring in history right now.
Great video and it was fun learning more about you!
16:55 Do NOT tell Grian that! 😂
I don't know what it is, but hearing that none of hermitcraft is scripted really made me feel relieved.
There was a "gaming district" on season one too! Dont forget the games on the mooshroom island across from spawn!
Xumia! You answered a lot of questions and it's great. Thank you. Thank you for opening yourself up to us and sharing. And also thank you for giving amazing content that can get me through my day

Time spent between Playing, Recording, and editing…
To whom ever asked this question.
This all boiled down to “do I have all the blocks I need or not?”
If I had more than enough blocks… then I’d end up doing more talky bits… if I didn’t than simply gathering.
As for editing time… same thing this varied from week to week. Normally, a few hours… 2-6.
One time it was about 5 days… the video simply would not render, I tried over and over again, remaking the video about a dozen times before it just magically rendered.
In an early video there is an animation of typing text… this only took me 12-18 hours to create… without animation software. 😵💫
gotta say i remember the "professional minecrafters" episode from so long ago, that was certainly a great episode
3:26 what an elegant entrance.
2:21
not sure if this was filmed before or after MCCP24?
15:16
I love X so much ❤
16:57
G :)
filmed a couple weeks ago.
@@xisumavoid interesting. I’m glad you got asked back for another event :) it was very fun watching you and your team compete and have fun!
Wonderful overview Xisuma. I hope to see more great content from you in the future.
So many of his younger or more left leaning audience are way too deep into that stuff.
I love hearing you talk about the things you enjoy, especially music!
Thanks for answering my question! I wasn't sure if it was too private, but I'm glad to hear your perspective
I've only been playing Minecraft for maybe 4 years now, but I just started watching hermitcraft this season. Learning so much from your vids, thank you so much!
I love these episodes. It's always enjoyable to hear X talk and reflect about general topics.
I think its so cool to hear more about your music and when/how you made it. Im a big fan of the album!
19:48
I would love to see you making a create series with you learning the mod.
There someone out there that is called Xisuma before Xisuma even made his youtube.
Kinda gave me a whiplash because Xisuma is such an unique name
yea i agree
Love that s3 was your favorite Hermit Thrills (I designed the logo for the park)
I highly recommend sweetcorn on pizza. If you want the A+ experience
- pepperoni
- toasted corn
- poblano
- red onion
Now that you mention it grian did bring a lot of interactivity with him hermits would still meet up before him but with him he brought more willingness to have games or rp and get people involved and I assume that lead to yall wanting to use the voice mod which drastically boosted hermitcraft to another level of creative space instead of just a canvas for painting in blocks it feels more like a place
11:28
That was something I'm also curious about.
Thanks for doing this, X! Really enjoyed this and great selection of questions!
Loved the video! It felt like an xisumasays video, where I could just listen to it and work at the same time!
@11:30 this is me most of the time. I will start a video while i'm eating then come back and finish it later lol. I always make sure to watch to the end though :D
It would be cool to see you in the next life series!
Thank you for your lovely videos.
reccomendation for your music blog: I know it's well outside your usual shtick, but the Welsh Hip-Hop artist Ren and is first full album "Sick Boi" has been slowly replacing the air I breathe ever since it released just under a year ago.
Gosh if i had a nickle for every hermit who played the drums 🤣
Definitly enjoyed this, and I was cought by suprise when it ended, it felt shorter then 24m
13:16 that's a brilliant answer X!
I'm Ukrainian, living in warzone for few years now, and I always question "what's wrong with these people, it's 21st century, why are you still doing something so barbaric?" If only others can leave by your principals...
Even though you didn't answer if it affected analytics, you've helped with the guilt of it possibly happening.
Its true, the magic of songs, face, thats why I have like over 100 songs in my playlist I barely ever listen to cause I wanna keep the impact lol
X answering questions for 25 minutes without getting stumped while building a stump.
No way my question was answered! I have peaked in life.
"Your Questions, My Answers" - wait, is that a Fraser Cain/Universe Today reference, or just a purely common turn of phrase?
I think that's pretty common
I like watching x play other games but this is mc is like his bread and butter
This was great learning more about you!
Hit the motivation question nail on the head for sure.
Always love QnAs thanks X!
I really enjoyed this video, it was nice to learn more about you!
Kiwi on pizza ?? OH HELL NAW
I tried to imagine the taste of “Kiwi on pizza” as you said it to give it the benefit of the doubt and it made me physically recoil.😭🤣
'I know that it'll happen eventually,' super sad to hear that, but hey, acceptance is the best way to overcome an eventuality.
Also, your comments on the darker side of Humanity and how we aren't 'above' these things now, that we are still capable of doing this, is very wise. If you do not learn from history, you are doomed to repeat it.
its nice to hear that your favourite on screen moment was the season 3 dragon fight
Season 3 and 4 are my favoruite seasons, and still influence how i do minecraft today
The earlier seasons are underrated (although that doesnt take away what grain has done)
It may not be as polished as modern hermitcraft, but the first 4 seasons added most of the things that made hermitcraft, hermitcraft
although i would like to re-ask a question 15:15
"Also side question- what are the preferred pronouns for you/your character(s)?"
You answered
"As for pronouns, i dont really care for them much, you can address me however you like, and thats fine"
-
which is great that you are progressive and arent defensive of the topic, but you did kind of give a non-answer
(although everywhere uses he/him for you, so it is kind of a non-question, but i guess its asking for confirmation)
For example
You may be fine with whatever, but if someone refered to you using she/her, you may get confused/startled for it being unexpected
(And based on your reaction to grain calling you X-i-zoomer-void, in season 6, that another comment pointed out, my guess might be correct)
and my point being, even if you wouldnt be offended for someone using the incorrect pronouns, you can still have prefered pronouns
So "what are the preferred pronouns for you/your character(s)?" or more accurately, could you confirm your pronouns
One more thing: my interpretation of they/them
If someone says they're pronouns are he/him, she/her, she/they... etc, basically anything other than they/them
We can/should be able to assume we are allowed to use they/them as a safe backup word as well
Unless someone specifically asks to not be called using singular they/them
-
So basically, when saying pronouns, unless you're pronouns are they/them, or requesting not to use they/them, you dont need to worry about mentioning your thoughts on they/them
@@the_luna_lily6234sorry but *their *your . Also 'any pronouns' is not a 'non answer'
Thank You for the Q&A!!
I am not surprised X is into Meshuggah. I am surprised he named a song I didn't know 😅. I hope that super metal band that Doc talked about is gonna happen at some point
so THAT’S why ep. 299 has been showing up on my feed recently 😂
I enjoyed this a lot. There were some very good questions asked as well.
