Santana was. Especially in high school. Rachel did it for several reasons, who cares why. If the writers had made it so Rachel got into NYADA right away and Brittany got kicked off the prom committee because of failing senior year, we all know the unholy trinity or at the least Santana and Brittany would've planned something just like Rachel did, but y'all would be like "Oh it was so creative of them to do that when Brittany was unfairly kicked off the committee so she should make her own glee prom. Blah Blah praise praise." But because it's Rachel y'all will trash her.

Santana was absolutely right. Rachel didn't organize this anti prom party because she stood up against prom traditions (wasting a lot of money on dresses, the problem with the kids that are not asked to go, etc.) which would have been absolutely amazing but the origin was how miserable she felt about choking her audition. I don't think most of you remember why she refused to go. And instead of making the simple decision of not going, she organized this sorta anti prom for not to face people and her own failure. She didn't do it for her friends (considering that Brittany, her friend, was class president and had organized the prom) but for herself. She even try to make it seem perfectly reasonable. So she needed to be stopped. Why didn't Rachel say "Ok, I'm not in the mood, I'm not going"?. And when you say Santana is rude, well, most of teenagers are like that and even worse. She offered anyone who didn’t want to go to prom to join her so they could still have a fun night, which is one of the most selfless things she ever did on the show. It was literally an alternative for people who would’ve felt miserable at prom. Kurt and Blaine has the idea just as much as she did. Do you think the same of them? It’s fair to not like Rachel’s character but you can’t justify someone’s toxic behavior just because it’s against her.
If she's not going, she has all the right to make plans and invite whoever she wants. That school sucked, why would it be different the prom night? The year before Kurt was nominated for queen, there's no reason for him to come back if he doesn't feel like it. If people don't feel like going, like Puck, Becky, Kurt and Blaine, they can hang out and have fun on their own. But suddenly Rachel is an evil selfish bitch just because she knows she's not the only one who doesn't wanna go.

In fact, she would've 100% went to the prom if Finn hadn't promised to go with Quinn and help her campaign for prom queen. Kurt and Blaine had the true intention of doing it for those who didn't feel comfortable going, and yet they still ended up at the actual prom. The anti-prom was sloppy and not well thrown together which showed there wasn't even nearly the same amount of thought thrown into it as the real thing. Rachel even ends up abandoning the anti-prom and leaving Becky and Puck at the hotel room as soon as Finn sweeps her off her feet to the school prom. Rachel had great qualities, and there have been times where she genuinely did the right thing. This was not one of those moments lol.
it was mroe like, Rachel was clearly drawing a line in the sand. if the Glee kids didn't show up to her party, it would be like they were dissing her. They obviously don't WANT to offend Rachel, but she was making them choose between prom and anti-prom. Santana was just making the point that now they're seniors, and they've worked hard to get where they are, and they should stop walking around like kicked puppies, and go to big social events and stop being afraid of "popular" kids or w/e.

Hahaha no she was the worst friend in the world. She broke up Britney and Artie basically for her own selfish reasons. Yes she loved Brit but Brit wanted to be with Artie at the time. J Sky well Santana had reasons of hating rachel because at the beginning of the show, Rachel was so unlikeable. She was selfish, self centred person who would throw a tantrum if she didn't get her way. So you can't blame Santana for having some strong opinions about her.
Rewatching this made me realize that this was kinda mean on Rachel's part considering Brittany is her friend and literally right there in the room. I mean, in addition to all the things Santana said, Brittany organized this prom and was clearly pretty excited about it. It's inconsiderate of Rachel to then go and encourage all of their friends to ditch that event for her newly formed idea while simultaneously trashing the idea of the prom... All right in front of Brittany. Obviously Brittany wasn't a great, involved president, but she actually did, as is evidenced by the rest of the episode, put a lot of work into organizing the entire prom. I would've felt awful if I had spent so much time organizing something and being so excited about it, only to have someone try to convince all my friends to not attend right in front of me just because they want them to go to their brand new, "better" event. Regardless of whether or not you think Santana was way too harsh and mean, or being refreshingly honest and telling it like it is, in my opinion Rachel was in the wrong in regards to Brittany. She could have instead have just not attended prom, and made her party an after/pre-prom event.

The New Directions think of each other as family and for Rachel to host an "anti-prom" party during the same time of the prom Brittany took time and hardwork to organize and was really excited about is rude. Rachel is very inconsiderate. And Santana is right. The only reason why Rachel was acting that way was because she couldn't deal with the fact that she choked on her NYADA audition. Santana can be rude but she's also honest and what she said to Rachel was true. Rachel needs to understand that she's not the only person who had to go through the situation she went through. And I dislike how Finn would often support and defend Rachel, even though he knows deep down that she's wrong. Yeah she's honest but 70% of the time she's just attacks on people insecurities. It depends, for example there she kinda had a point. Would like to have a friend who always criticize you on your appearance and what you're doing? Santana is a toxic, yes she'll always be there for you when you need help but she will go into your stuff without your permission - she don't respect / has no bonderies and if you make her upset or annoyed her or any negative feeling she will attack you physically or emotionally.
Santana was the most interesting character on Glee. She was just a minor sidekick to Quinn in the beginning, but then she eclipsed others and became a fan favourite. Her acting and delivering her one-liners or rants were on point

Her fiancée was going to the prom with his first love/ex whom everyone likes more than her so she couldn’t even spend her senior prom with her love, and then days before she realized she wasn’t getting into her dream school (and BC the show is so exaggerative she lost NY and her entire future as she knew it as well, you have to understand how stressful senior year is when you’re forced to decided the first step of your entire future), so why should she be forced to go to prom? Not a good point. At senior prom people are mainly going to hang out with their own dates. Rachel couldn’t even spend prom with her fiancée because his first love/ex asked him to go with her. They were all already spending plenty of time together getting ready for nationals, and let’s be honest, how many of the glee kids were desperate for Rachel to go to prom so they could spend time with her??? They’re only worried about their own dates and most of them don’t like her that much. People don’t realise, anti-proms are often made as a protest against dress codes or certain kids not invited. Rachel exploited the fact that Blaine had an actual problem (no hair gel) to make it into something she could use because she was sad about her audition. And making an anti-prom would ruin the last night glee had together. Santana was right.

I don’t really get how Santana being incredibly rude to Rachel in this scene was justified? I mean, Rachel did just blow her audition, so it’s understandable she’s not up to dancing. She handled it pretty well, unlike what Santana said. Some people say “But Brittany is planning it that’ll upset her” that’s like Teachers getting upset if they’re students don’t go to the Prom the school planned 💀 Not everyone wants to! And I don’t see how Rachel was “Punishing everyone else” because she wanted to have her own little prom party. Rachel starts telling them about it when Brittany is not in the room. She literally walks in on them while Rachel is explaining it. So I’d give the benefit of the doubt that she did want to tell them about it before Brittany entered the room. The timing was just poor.

So while she might have been a little abrasive about the whole thing in reality she cared about these guys and wanted them to stay together for prom. 5. Rachel’s reasoning behind this was totally wrong. If Rachel decided to throw that anti prom for any other reason than Bc she was sad and pissed than yeah maybe Santana might’ve been in the wrong a little but Bc it was pretty much all about how Rachel feels the reason for this anti prom was wrong. I get why Kurt and Blaine may not have wanted to go so it would’ve made sense if THEY came up with this and presented this to the group (which still would’ve been messed up if the did it in front of Brittany). They could at least make it sound like it was genuinely for people that didn’t feel like they would belong at the regular prom unlike Rachel. Rachel didn't organize this anti prom party because she stood up against prom traditions (wasting a lot of money on dresses, the problem with the kids that are not asked to go, etc.) which would have been absolutely amazing but the origin was how miserable she felt about choking her audition. I don't think most of you remember why she refused to go. And instead of making the simple decision of not going, she organized this sorta anti prom for not to face people and her own failure. She didn't do it for her friends (considering that Brittany, her friend, was class president and had organized the prom) but for herself. She even try to make it seem perfectly reasonable. So she needed to be stopped. Why didn't Rachel say "Ok, I'm not in the mood, I'm not going"?.

The anti-prom was sloppy and not well thrown together which showed there wasn't even nearly the same amount of thought thrown into it as the real thing. J Sky well Santana had reasons of hating rachel because at the beginning of the show, Rachel was so unlikeable. She was selfish, self centred person who would throw a tantrum if she didn't get her way. So you can't blame Santana for having some strong opinions about her.
Rewatching this made me realize that this was kinda mean on Rachel's part considering Brittany is her friend and literally right there in the room. I mean, in addition to all the things Santana said, Brittany organized this prom and was clearly pretty excited about it. It's inconsiderate of Rachel to then go and encourage all of their friends to ditch that event for her newly formed idea while simultaneously trashing the idea of the prom... All right in front of Brittany.
Obviously Brittany wasn't a great, involved president, but she actually did, as is evidenced by the rest of the episode, put a lot of work into organizing the entire prom. I would've felt awful if I had spent so much time organizing something and being so excited about it, only to have someone try to convince all my friends to not attend right in front of me just because they want them to go to their brand new, "better" event.
Regardless of whether or not you think Santana was way too harsh and mean, or being refreshingly honest and telling it like it is, in my opinion Rachel was in the wrong in regards to Brittany. She could have instead have just not attended prom, and made her party an after/pre-prom event.

Yeah she's honest but 70% of the time she's just attacks on people insecurities. It depends, for example there she kinda had a point. Would like to have a friend who always criticize you on your appearance and what you're doing? Santana is a toxic, yes she'll always be there for you when you need help but she will go into your stuff without your permission - she don't respect / has no bonderies and if you make her upset or annoyed her or any negative feeling she will attack you physically or emotionally.

She _knew_ that some of her friends were still gonna go when she asked, she made it clear that you only would want to go if you’re feeling discouraged about the real prom. Kurt and Blaine were just as much in on it as Rachel, especially since it was their idea. If she’s “driving a wedge between the group” then so are they. And I guess Puck too.
But let’s be honest Glee wasn’t spending the prom together, they only spent it with their dates. So it didn’t make a difference. Plus it’s not like anyone really wanted to spend the night with Rachel anyway lol.

If Brittany’s hurt she’s taking it too personally. Prom isn’t about her, she’s not the only one who worked on it, and it wasn’t anti her prom it was just anti prom in general. Prom is not always inclusive for people who are going through different things in their lives. That’s why I didn’t go to mine. Rachel not too long ago asked and gave Santana A picture of herself to keep in the locker talking about how she wishes they were friends much sooner and now they have limited time together. The things Santana said might’ve been a little harsh, like maybe she could’ve been a tiny bit nicer when conveying her message but you clearly haven’t watched the show if you think she wasn’t going to throw in an insult PLUS that insult was also the TRUTH... sometimes Santana might be flat out mean to Rachel when she insults her or sometimes she exaggerates things but this was neither of those, it was just the TRUTH so if you wanna be mad Bc Santana said something that you can’t rebuttals with “she’s exaggerating this sooo much” or “that’s just plain stupid” be my guest
3. The way Rachel brought that up was MESSED UP. She could’ve easily told these guys this news separately or when Brittany was actually busy and couldn’t walk in right as she said or maybe she could’ve shut the door or done literally anything beside bring the whole club together and hope that Brittany wouldn’t find out. Brittany was clearly excited abt this prom that SHE put together and Rachel basically said “this prom is gonna suck so I’m gonna throw my own” and sure maybe that wasn’t what she was really saying but it could’ve been interpreted like this especially by Brittany so when Santana told her off she was pretty much standing by her gf which is not wrong.

Even while Santana was going off on Rachel she brought up good points and was actually thinking of her friends as she said it and yeah Rachel invited the glee club but this wasn’t about spending time together. When Santana brought up the fact that Rachel choked during her audition she didn’t say stuff like “you’re untalented” or “you suck” she said “I get it, it happens and it sucks” and she brought up how she wanted to spend the last big moments of high school together, with them, hanging out, doing the actual event. So while she might have been a little abrasive about the whole thing in reality she cared about these guys and wanted them to stay together for prom.
5. Rachel’s reasoning behind this was totally wrong. If Rachel decided to throw that anti prom for any other reason than Bc she was sad and pissed than yeah maybe Santana might’ve been in the wrong a little but Bc it was pretty much all about how Rachel feels the reason for this anti prom was wrong. I get why Kurt and Blaine may not have wanted to go so it would’ve made sense if THEY came up with this and presented this to the group (which still would’ve been messed up if the did it in front of Brittany). They could at least make it sound like it was genuinely for people that didn’t feel like they would belong at the regular prom unlike Rachel. Also Rachel’s intentions were clearly not true Bc she left as soon as Finn came to take her to prom where she wouldn’t have gone if she truly came up with this idea from a place of good and toadd to that, the same people that went to the anti prom ended up at the regular one by the end of the episode and looked like they were having a good time.
