Some countries actually have laws against bringing in counterfeit products (one of them is Japan)-even if it’s just for personal use. However, customs and border protection agencies have bigger issues at hand such as drugs etc., that these laws are not strictly implemented. In Japan if proven you have a knockoff bag, I don’t think they’ll charge you with anything, but they will most likely confiscate it. This is to stop spreading more counterfeit goods in their country. (Source: my stepdad is Japanese, and this is something he has warned us when flying in to Japan)
