Although this theory is contradicted by Abigail's mentioning she may have still failed Dash's expectation in becoming the next manager leaving her in the same scenario as the original fic. The fic continues normally until Abigail's confrontation with Dash in which she overthrows her. At 3:15 Abigail realizes she's about to kill her last remaining innocence seeing herself as Dash and Dash as her younger innocent self. Abigail kills Dash becoming the monster she once sought to destroy.
Though the songs and story are all fan-made, it's dark. Like real dark, but it's also well done. If you integrated this into the actual canon, it could be set in a time where Discord went all-out in a chaotic reign of terror. Everyone gets driven mad, the weather factory gets changed and the location that makes rainbows is changed for the worst. Rainbow Dash is in charge of course, and now there's initiation to count yourself among those who can live in Cloudsdale. Those who fail are captured and taken to the forsaken Rainbow Factory to either work to death or be killed right away and used for your color. As things play out, Scootaloo fails the test from seeing others fail. She and the others are captured and sent to die. The friends die and Scootaloo almost escapes and ends up back where she started. What happened between then and this song, I'm not sure but I kind of have an idea. I think the protagonist is sent to work, specifically to be the executioner and extract the color of the factory's victims. This is probably because she was resilient to escape and Rainbow probably gave her another chance to maybe redeem herself, but it would require a very cold-blooded individual to succeed. The way it probably would go, workers are brainwashed, stripped of any memories outside the factory, and given new names to be completely different and soley loyal to this new work. I think several years would go on to the point of this song, and Scootaloo probably reopens her eyes to see that the killing is wrong. Dash catches on and is for sure ready to kill her this time and degrades her to the lowest point. Scootaloo, already insane from the past years, fights back against her mentor. She uses her absolute anger to fight and overpower Rainbow Dash. She straps her to the device and talks about how she only remembers her new name and nothing else anymore. Rainbow took everything away, and the one who used to look up to her now has her in the clutches of the pegasus device. With the pull of the lever and stab of the long, bloody, and rusted needle, Rainbow Dash looses her colors and dies. Scootaloo takes control of the factory, but not in a good way. Driven by insanity, she would go on to continue the work. That's how I see it played out on my head

Thank you angel rain for putting it so elegantly. as someone who has borderline personality disorder knows, these things stems from childhood abuse. and I totally see that when Scootaloo basically becomes rainbow dash (her abuser.) as time passed. And usually the abused developed emotional and mental disassociation and personalities to deal with the trama endured, which we see in the older scootaloo....eventually the "child" in scootaloo reawakens, breaks free from her abuser, or (programmers) hold and we see that headache as she crosses over mentally and "takes back control" that she had ripped away from her. just goes to show even someone perceived as weak can overpower their abusers or handlers eventually :)

It's like you will be my successor! I'm surprised that in this version of rd she couldn't bring herself to kill scootaloo and instead made her into her successor. It's like dashs mind has to comprehend the value of keeping her alive and compromising between keeping her alive and killing her. In the scene with cheerlee I felt like dash still loves scoot but hates her whenever she won't do what she wants. Mabye rainbow was trying to save scootaloo cause she couldn't bring herself to kill her even though she's evil. Rainbow was successful when scoot killed applebloom I think that's the compromise that dash needed in her mind in order to keep scootaloo alive. It's like rainbow dash was fighting herself mentally but in order to do so she needed scootaloo to do whatever dash needed. however the insanity finally caught up to her, as we see.
I feel like this is a just Scootaloo's nightmare, based on legends of what the pegisi did a LONG time ago, before better methods of making rainbows were created.

I'm surprised that in this version of rd she couldn't bring herself to kill scootaloo and instead made her into her successor.
It's like dashs mind has to comprehend the value of keeping her alive and compromising between keeping her alive and killing her.
In the scene with cheerlee I felt like dash still loves scoot but hates her whenever she won't do what she wants. Mabye rainbow was trying to save scootaloo cause she couldn't bring herself to kill her even though she's evil. Rainbow was successful when scoot killed applebloom I think that's the compromise that dash needed in her mind in order to keep scootaloo alive. It's like rainbow dash was fighting herself mentally but in order to do so she needed scootaloo to do whatever dash needed. however the insanity finally caught up to her, as we see.
I love the voices how it actually sounds like them, this is the best ive seen yet! 10/10

That moment you realize that they killed Applebloom and that makes no sense because there's no possible way that Applebloom could have failed a flying test as she's not even a pegasus.
She knew Scootaloo and tried to find her / work against the Rainbow Factory or something? And they could simply switch Sweetiebot off, or reprogram her / wipe her memory?
perhaps it was to mentally torture scootaloo or like applebloom knew about the rainbow factory and they had to get rid of her (i know nothing about this creepy pasta)
Though the animation in many places could sure use a lot of improvement, the facial expressions are quite good, especially at the end. Sure captured the mood right there.
