- Start tapping on acoustic guitar right away, it's much simpler than it looks! Tapping strings might seem like an advanced technique for pros only, but even on acoustic guitar you can easily tap strings to expand your creativity with relative ease.
Let me show you how to tap on acoustic guitar from my years of experience playing modern fingerstyle guitar.

Wow...
I never saw any creative way of teaching than you.
No effects, no editing just pure art.
Thank you sir, continue the good work..
I see every lesson as a performance :) which in itself is a lesson in musicianship!
Thank you for your compliments
This guy is oozing with talent and passion. Underrated.
I'm just glad you enjoy my work :)
Oozing 😖
I didn't expect a tutorial to be so entertaining. This video needs moar views!!! Great Content.
I’m glad you learnt something and had fun in the process. That’s the whole idea! 😁
Good guitarist behind a pure human much respect
Appreciate that a lot
If you have already tried tapping then this video gives you proper way and confidence
This definitely wasn't the kind of tutorial I expected coming into this video haha. Very interesting way of teaching guitar. I'll be sure to check out more of your videos.
😁 just having some fun here while teaching. I’ve just posted a video about fingerstyle arrangements, do check it out!
You deserve way more subs. Way funnier and more entertaining than I expected it to be.
Thank you 😊 happy to share my knowledge and entertain you in the process
You're something different, my good sir.
Keep it up. Would love to learn a lot more from you.
Thank you! I look forward to sharing more videos with you each week :)
You are my new guitar teacher 😁
Happy to have you as my new student!
Love how you can read the Bible while taping 😄
The Bible is full of emotion, I do hope to use music to communicate some of that to my listeners :)
I thought you had 1 million subscribers when I was watching the video. This tutorial is amazing!
Haha working towards it 😊 glad you found it useful!
I was looking for a gifted CHRISTian teacher so I'm going through all these videos. I'm using a 12-string and I'm clicking the bell. I really want to learn to worship using the guitar.
I'm happy to teach you what I know Robert :) Yes, it's a joy to worship God with the skills and passions we're gifted with! And we'll keep practicing to improve. Looking forward to sharing more with you!
It's good that you use a classical guitar, because i don't have an acoustic and making it precise and clear for me to listen and understand
You can do it on both an acoustic or classical, though I find it easier on steel strings. By the way, my guitar here is a steel string :)
@@neilchanmusic Seriously i do some occasional tapping, but that sound is always so poor...
do i need a good quality guitar for tapping ?
@@neilchanmusic just because of my poor sound from tapping i get discouraged on tapping...thanks for your video it really is positive
You are most welcome! Don't be too intimidated by it, like all things it takes lots of practice. On your earlier question, it does help to have a decent quality guitar. You don't need a really high end one, but just one that intonates well and has a good action :)
Wish my guitar teacher taught like you. Sir you are just amazing . Also I love your humour.👏👏👏
Thank you for your compliments 😊 wish I could have more students like you!
Dawg wrote a song for his guitar tutorial 😂

Thank you sir, that's a big compliment!
I don’t know why but I love that first song for some reason. It’s very interesting though.
Ohh I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I don't have a tendon in my left thumb tip - I can't 'clamp' the neck, but I've played and toured for 25+ years.
While I can't do some of this, it's a great tutorial and very very creative.
I love it because you speak to MUSICIANS and not 'guitar players'.
Thank you Jeremy, and lovely to hear from a seasoned professional musician like yourself!
I picked up a guitar yesterday. The thumb support in the neck had already leveled up my ability to play a chord without bum notes. Thank you. Love the teaching while singing style. Vibes
Appreciate it Dave! Glad you enjoyed the video. Keep up the discipline in maintaining thumb position
Dude this is the best lesson I've ever seen

Artististic nature reflects art of thou artist
Hey you're amazing, I love your videos.
I have a question. Do you know the tension of your guitar strings? Like kg of lb per string? I play lute and would like to develop tapping, but not sure if tension could be a problem. thanks
I don't know the exact tension, but I dont think you need to know it by measurement. I don't have experience on the lute but I think you need sizeable tension at least such that there is more impact of the string against the fret when tapping to create an audible and pleasing sound. I wish you all the best in this, it sounds exciting!
What an amazing style of teaching 😍
Glad you enjoy it Ajinkya!
Just wow, thank you!

thank you sir
You're welcome!
Impressive 👏👏
Thanks 😁
Ur amazing bro 😎 keep it up 👍
I will, thank you!
Love your videos 😍 I have trouble getting a clear pure sound when using two hand tapping. If the string is fretted no more than 7 frets down from where I’m tapping it sounds good but if it’s an open string or fretted further down it sounds muddy. Can anybody advice me on how to correct this ? 😃
It might also be your guitar setup, tapping notes higher up the neck has more tendency to be out of tune! That's because you could be setting the other side of the string into vibration as well (between your fretted position and the neck), which will create two notes that are really dissonant with each other.
This guy is cool
Beautiful voice…
Thank you!
Thank you
You are most welcome!
I love it 😄♡
Glad you do!
What notes are you exactly tapping here? cause I tried hitting on the same position and it does not sound similar. By now my fingers have got strong enough to tap down but I don't know where exactly to tap. I feel stuck without any progress
You can try working on some scale positions, and after you’re comfortable playing the scales normally, try tapping them out. You can download my scale positions guide at my website under Learn > Resources. Hope this helps!
You are so funny. Love this video!!
Glad you enjoyed it! :D
Thanks for the video! I really learned a lot!! I really dont know how to tap back then and my hand gets tired because of my wrong handle of it!!! THIS VIDEI HELPED ME!!
Keep practicing! I’m glad I could help you out. Have a blessed Christmas 😊
@@neilchanmusic thank you and merry christmas too :)
My wrists have always killed me bc I hold my thumb too high! Thank you for this!
@@absfairabbyfouts7099 You're welcome! That's a common mistake among my students :)
@@neilchanmusic ive found It’s a tough habit to break since I’ve been doing it since I was six😬
Creative content bro!
Thank you! Do check out my newer video on tapping 😊
Thank you sir, i was learning eruption solo but I don't know how to tap hahaha.
Once again thank you so much
Most welcome! It's a little harder tapping on an acoustic than electric, so if you're playing eruption on electric it should be easier to get started.
You just earned 1 more subscriber And a like
