In the US, I didn't know of Victoria Wood until finding uploads of her work here on UA-cam (sincere thanks to those of you who made her accessible!). I feel a bit cheated not to have been able to watch the wonderful and hilarious Victoria Wood through the years, and am so glad Jo Brand chose her as Best Female Comic.
Jo and Victoria are (and were) two of my favourite comics of all time. I'm usually quite unaffected when a "celebrity" dies, but when I heard of Victoria's passing I was genuinely sad. If you'd like to see more of her work, try ebay for secondhand dvds. She truly was brilliant
I like JO Brand but I do find herself calling herself a nurse"because she is a psychiatric nurse is somehwat misleading I think. To me there is no comparison to what a general nurse does compared to a psychiatric one and you cannot possibly have qualified as a nurse as she did whilst only doing one term in placement compared to three terms plus academic training that a nurse who works in physical care. I also have very little respect for the overall profession of psychiatry too even though I'm sure JO was a very caring and thoughtful "nurse",unlike many who work in the profession.Psychiatry as a whole has very little to recommend it and it is a far cry from the professionalism and care that goes on in most other areas of health. I really wish she would stop referring to herself as a nurse"and more as a mental healthcare worker as mostly all theu do is administer drugs forcibly and of you are lucky they might talk to people and offer some counselling as such but otherwise its behaviour management..hardly nursing".
She qualified with a university degree to get her qualification like nurses do. She is a qualified mental health nurse. A care worker is something different. I know mental health workers, and they do care for patients like general nurses do, you just need to educate yourself better.

Hilarious.thanks from Australia ♥️👌♥️
Beryl Reid was fantastic funny woman, one of hundreds of comedians who have passed on, including Victoria Wood who died much too soon!
I love Jo Brand and I’m a woman!!
So
@@signwriter1 ....so do i.
Surely most women don't detest her so you are probably not alone.
11:18 Bill got hit by a handbag once, as well, thrown by Sean Lock, as revealed on one of these videos.
No mention of Barry and Freda?
Shocking.
Jo beats Felicity Kendall any day 😊
Both brilliant in their own way.
Never seen this what channel was it on x
Like when Peter Cook had to talk to Joan Rivers.
The little girl character was stolen from Beryl Reid.
Loosely experienced and poo, should possibly not be used in the same sentence

No "funny" acid jokes then? Not funny at all
Lighten up, it's just a joke. Like on Top Gear.
