As a Registered Nurse in Canada, I am totally not surprised that Jo Brand trained as a nurse. Nurses are some of the funniest people I know. Love Jo Brand.

There is something really soothing about keeping and wearing a knitted jumper, I knitted an awful jumper of scrappy stitches that made me look huge; but it was a big achievement at the time!

I have always loved jo as an entertainer in any/every format and she knows that she played a pivotal role in literally pulling me from death's door following a very rare condition that noones ever survived before. I experienced medical miracles throughout my rehabilitation from that illness which are cited now in medical journals and i dont say that to highlight me because that's all about jo and the power she has to be such a positive distraction.I wrote to her expressing my thanks and received such a lovely, hilarious handwritten letter back from her which I had never expected. She's a total star.

Regarding the perceived limitations of being called "a national treaure," I think of a story that I heard about Dame Judi Dench. Supposedly, she walked in front of a taxi; the driver slammed on the brakes, stuck his head out the window and called her a cow. Without missing a beat, she retorted, "That's DAME Cow to you!" @@DerEchteBold Why? Because I always give people a chance to redeem themselves! She says that she is "the least female..." but is done up like a Christmas tree. Lots of people nick books from uni libraries but stealing a teaching tool like that brain...? They are often 1 off items and particularly back in those days would have been an expensive purchase for the department.
