I like BIG buts. 33 pound California Halibut from the kayak.

Late May 2019 on the Pacific Ocean looking for big California Halibut and I found what I was looking for. One of my biggest ever! so pumped!!! She chomped an 8" jack mackerel on snell rigged owner ST66's.

Anthony Esposito Just depends on the size of my bait. I use a sliding snell knot so I can adjust the distance between the hooks for each bait. One hook in the nose, one hook just behind the adipose fin.

Mine is a Lawrence Hook2 5" They definitely help a ton. I mainly fish for halibut which you can't see on a fish finder but its great for finding bait as well as knowing depth and bottom structure.
