Islam and the Nation "of Islam" are two different religions. Islam is a religion for all races and enjoins the worship of the One Unseen God who never took human form. On the other hand "the Nation" is a movement geared towards non-whites that teaches God appeared as a man named Fard Muhammad and that Elijah Muhammad was a prophet. According to orthodox Islam these are blasphemous beliefs that contradict the basic theology defined throughout the Qur'an and other authentic texts. The followers of "the Nation" adhere to some Islamic principles that are mixed with other practices and beliefs completely alien to authentic Islamic teachings. And the Holy Qur’an clearly says in 112:1-4 that Allah is NOT BORN… “He is Allah, the One. Allah, the Absolute. He begets not, nor was He begotten. And there is none comparable to Him.” Therefore neither Fard Muhammad nor ANY human being is Allah. Islam as far as Sunnah can be controversial because of certain ahadiths, however, there is a reason why there is four different schools of thought and each have an interpretation that don't practice like the other but don't dismiss their interpretation. They just overlook it with their own interpretation based on their research and studies.

We have a similar problem in Pakistan, but instead of the 'the nation' they are called 'qadiani' they think 'Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani' as their Prophet. Their teachings are not of Quran they don't respect hadis and give prophets like Jesus Christ no respect.

Those who disbelieved will be driven to Hell in ˹successive˺ groups. When they arrive there, its gates will be opened and its keepers will ask them: “Did messengers not come to you from among yourselves, reciting to you the revelations of your Lord and warning you of the coming of this Day of yours?” The disbelievers will cry, “Yes ˹indeed˺! But the decree of torment has come to pass against the disbelievers.”

Once Prophet PBUH felt that a certain food made him uneasy he told his wife that he will never eat it again, Gabriel came to visit the Prophet and revealed to the Prophet PBUH that you can not prohibit something which the God allows as halal, you might consume that food less or occasionally but you can’t prohibit it unless God commands so.
This was done as an example because if the Prophet PBUH would abandon eating or drinking something then later his example can be given for calling something mistakenly HARAM ( bot permissible ) which is deemed HALAL ( permissible) by God.
Another example is that the Prophet PBUH used to fast on Mondays and Thursdays but he also deliberately and intermittently used to have lunch on some Mondays and Thursdays so the Ummah doesn’t mistakenly confuse his NAFALI ( voluntarily ) fasts for FARZ ( Compulsory) fasts.
These are called BIDDATS, to invent something new in an already ordained religion and its practices.

2018 I've witness a Nation of Islam Muslim teach a new Muslim his Salah and surah Al-Fatiah and it was correct, maybe the Nation has began to do things accordingly. Take Shahada, Make Salah, Ramadan fast, Pay Zakat, and Make Hajj. Inshallah they're guided to the straight path. Mashallah for Ahki Siraj

Just maybe the Nation of Islam Muslim Imam as you label him traveled to Arabia and not (Saudi Arabia) because it was a British invention in 1924! And the British made Sheikh Abdullah Saud the king. Also when I was there recently I saw ancient coloquial Arabic engraved into the stone pillars thousands of years old. Also there are also depictions of the Afrikans making As-Salat, Wudu and even calling the Adhan for As-Salat.

Here's a good example of someone unnecessarily making up rules and then calling it part of their religion of "true" Islam. First, the hadith is not a reliable source of diyn Allah. Diyn Allah and the sunnah of Allah is the guidance we were asked to follow.

This young man liked to listen to rap and hip hop music, many young white people in my country fantasize that they are like blacks living in the slums of the United States. Some time later the boy told me that he had been studying more about the religion of Islam, and began to explain to me everything he had learned from the doctrines and history of the Nation of Islam. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I told him to forget all that, I told him that all that he told me had nothing to do with the religion of Islam. The Nation of Islam not only misplaces people in America, it also does so in other parts of the world.
