I'll never forget my first Journey. I went in blind, knowing only that it was a cool looking 3D platformer. I was pleased to find a cloaked AI friend to play with early on. It seemed...inconsistent. Sometimes helpful, sometimes not, sometimes running ahead and vanishing, but often responsive to my pings. By the end of the game, I found myself quite attached to my friend. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that it wasn't an AI at all. Such an awesome experience!
Yeah the first Journey is always the best pal, I hope to run into you if you ever play Journey again! I play on my dad's Ps4 account because making my own looked confusing to me for some reason. But yeah I really must agree with you and running into anonymous people and learning who they are after the credits is nice. I made a Google doc of companions and at the moment I was only able to get one name down because before playing a new journey I ran into 6 or 7 people I think and I wish I got their names and drew their symbols on paper TwT I'm too slow. Sorry for the long reply by the way and I'm sorry if I sound annoying.
That was my exact same experience! Glad I was not alone in thinking it was an NPC type guide. It showed up for me when I was stuck in one area and it showed me the solution, so in my mind it made sense as an NPC guide thing......but then it was also inconsistent in its behavior
Brilliant! I noticed too that the so-called "newb" had decorated robes, so was in fact the more experienced one. And have we not all allowed a newer player to take the lead, only gently guiding them to the hidden secrets? With that, and the one-sided-conversation thing, I thought you captured the spirit perfectly.
I think journey is one of the few games that can bring people who don't speak a word of the same language or even live on the same continent together. It shows that you really can communicate without words, and that you can form deep connections with someone you've only spent a little under an hour and a half with, ones that feel like you've been good friends irl for a while. I still remember the name of two people i played with once, and i will(hopefully) never forget. Love you guys, frede_zwarg and Youbei222. Hope you're doing well.
When my friend played it for the first time he messaged a guy who showed him where all the secrets where and thanked him to find they didn’t speak a word of English and still had no idea what he was saying
@@coffeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I have started making videos again recently. Not about Journey but about other games. I also have an original short and a Splatoon video almost finished. So look forward to that.
After seeing the article name on Kotaku and seeing how the video first started, I was a bit angry at the thought of this video. But after continuing to watch I understood the message just fine- it's a great video. I kind of expected you guys to have the long scarves and I thought you were going to be attacked by the spotlight beasts lol. The first time that happened to my partner I was terrified. Pitiful chirps or sorrow as we hobbled throughout the caves.
Awesome animation. Great style. Looking slick. Solid. Touching. Keep us all posted on your continued progress with any new progress pics or vid clips. Show us what you got man. Wanna see how freakin' huge, viral, popular and tight this animation can get. Thanks for the motivation.
That was a lovely video. Even though the morons over at Kotaku are taking it as cynic satire and playing with trolls (they're wrong), I think it actually shows what the game is really about. Nicely done.
I know I'm ultra late but I just wanted to say I liked the animation, it's really cute and I like how the two robe bbys react to eachother (albeit one sided hehe)
This is very nice. Story and animationwise. Must have taken a while. Personally there is some tiny little small very unnessesary touch which is missing, The Textures are a little bit too... plain. I actually don't have a lot of experience with animation but I think this would have taken some extra time. Again, very well doe.
Agreed, I happen to play it so often because when it comes to achievements I'm a completionist lol right now I'm doing the Return achievement which is waiting a week to play it again. I play on my dad's Ps4 account because online play and making my own account looks complicated and makes me think to myself wtfudge do I do??? Anyways once my week long wait is over I hope to run into you!
i baked the cloth physics for the robe colliding with the animated body, and then set the baked object as a collider and simulated the scarf to collide with that and the head
i guess you can’t really blame them since views pay their bills, and they still gave this video some free press so more people could enjoy it so i cant grumble
This model wouldn't work in VR Chat sadly, I built it in a way only C4D could use it. You could always check sites like the gamers resource for model rips that would work though.
