I'm sorry to hear that. Are you able to control your episodes through medications? Diet? Stress relief?

Do you mind sharing an update? Are you able to control them with medication? What do you do when you feel these coming on?

@GilSolanoREEGT no. Medication does not help. Nothing has so far. Still working on it though.

I always called these migraines cuz 50% of the time I had a headache after my symptoms. Then my PCP said they could be seizures it falls so much in line with how I feel before a sense of panic and altered vision when they first come on then tightness in my face and tingling in my hands. Sometimes with twitching. I always stay aware and feel like I can keep on with life but those around me have noticed I am slow to respond and mix up words.
I finally got a referral to a neurologist.

I am an MD with focal seizures. The most important thing about them is TO GET THEM UNDER COMPLETE CONTROL. This is because every focal seizure kills off some brain cells, and if not controlled, the seizures might spread to other parts of the brain over many years. I get a strange sense on the right side of my neck, and sometimes a strange feeling in my abdomen. Many different aurar in people!! Good luck to all!!

My auras are an intensive sense of panic 😱 or fear! I suddenly feel afraid but I don’t know what I am afraid of-I just feel something dreadful is going to happen. This feeling starts in the top of my stomach and I suddenly feel afraid 😱! After 3 to 5 minutes it finally fades away but the cycle continues so often- it really scares me!

i've noticed that i tend to have auras and then a lot of paranoia. i don't know if some of the paranoia is some of the symptoms of epilepsy or if its because i also have ocd and those thoughts are always on my mind

I am so frustrated. This whole thing began in 2018. Mine are non-epileptic seizures and it seems that my doctors have not been able to really help me. My neurologist wants me to take these tests that require hospitalization for about 5 days in which I have to stop taking all my medications to see the brain activity during the seizures and that scares me as hell. I just can’t do that. But I don’t feel like my old self since this whole thing began in 2018.

I can really feel your frustration, and I’m so sorry you’ve been dealing with this since 2018. It’s exhausting to go through all of this and not feel like yourself anymore. Non-epileptic seizures can be really hard to manage, and I totally understand how scary the idea of stopping your meds for a hospital stay sounds. It’s a big step, and it makes sense to feel hesitant.
Have you had a chance to discuss other options with your neurologist? It might be helpful to express your fears about the hospitalization and see if there are alternative approaches that could work for you. You deserve to feel comfortable with whatever steps you're taking in your treatment. And even though it might not feel like it right now, you’re strong for getting through these past years. Take it one step at a time, and don’t lose sight of advocating for what feels right for you. Is there anything that’s helped you cope with the stress during all of this?

part about my partial seizures in reply’s I have videos for people wants to see,.. My aura for grandmals is i go “a ah ah ahhhhhhhhhh and scream” then it’s like tv static. Do my shaking and I’m aware I’m having a seizure and can feel the blood in my mouth then I just wake up with my head in a garbage clueless but it makes sense I don’t remember the seizure till later but it makes sense somehow why I’m throwing up. My longest I’m aware of was almost 6 min on my 18th birthday.

And for my partial seizures I have no clue. I can send people videos of them if there curious about it. So I start with a feeling of curiosity and start stuttering uncontrollably with no ability to breath or communicate but I can stare at people and think to them I need help. till I overheat and pass out could literally be anything curious and I’m done for, when others see me in this situation they just freak out because I sound like a lawnmower that won’t turn off with tears running down my eyes. Literally any feeling of curiosity can set it off. Problems started after I had brain surgery in my left frontal lobe
