Thanks for your update! My brother and sister-in-law are stuck on Holland America right now, they called me this morning trying to change their flight and get a hotel room for tonight. Hopefully they can get off this evening!
Thanks for the info. The same thing happened to my sister & I a few yrs ago. Port authority shut down the port. I think we got on the ship between 7-8pm that night. We had to hang around Tampa the whole day. Carnival did give us a credit for lunch, since we had to buy it off the ship.

Last year of January 14 2017 we were supposed to Port in Galveston on the carnival freedom and the fog was so thick you couldn't see 20 feet so they closed the port so we were on the ship 2 extra days and got off the ship at 7 pm the next evening the passengers ahead of us lost 2 days of their cruise there were 3 ships full of passengers that had to be disembarked the carnival valor the royal Caribbean freedom of the seas and the one we were on the carnival freedom to passengers that got on after us finally got to leave port at about midnight

I feel bad for those people who lost a day off their cruise. You know they won’t get any compensation for it and they had to find and pay for an extra night in a hotel.

The ships are fine now. As I’m typing this the 2 RC ships have left port and the 3 other ships are now coming into port.

this fog reminds me of a cruise on carnival glory from new York to Canada in 2011, thanks for sharing.
