I'd love to see ryze OLD ultimate on here. Man that thing was hilarious. You literally got to activate urf buff at anytime, make all your spells do AOE, and get spellvamp. He was the def of late game carry back in the day.
Karmas old W was a point and click ability that created a rope between you and the entity you clicked on, including allied stealth wards. Enemies who touched the rope would be damaged and slowed, while allies who touched the rope where sped up. The only other ability that resembles anything close to a similar manner is Yuumis ultimate. Actually now that i think of it they also tacked Karmas old empowered Q, which was an aoe damage + heal in front of her, onto Yuumis current version of her ultimate as well.
Urgots ult feels like such a loss because it's a really cool support/tank ult that was slapped into a mess of a champ and therefore was classified as bad because it didn't work on him because he made no use of being in the enemy team.
I miss Zac's old reworked ult where he'd go flat on the ground and scoop up all the enemies caught in a chosen direction was so much fun and Galio's insane aoe taunt and explosion ult
You mentioned TF at the end. At one point, Gate had a feature where if you cast it while Destiny was active (the former was his E, the latter his ult) it would teleport you instantly. Note that Gate was global even after it was moved to his ultimate and I believe it was global up until some point during 2011. That’s right. Twisted Fate used to have a global flash on a basic ability.
No PTSD from old Infinite Duress? You forgot to mention 4.20 Weedwick where he would red smite you, press R and you died, only the most infamous time in Warwick's entire history as a champion
Even older Maokai ult was only slightly different, it was a ground target spell so you needed to hope they stayed in the zone long enough to take advantage of the damage reduction and possible damage.
What I miss more about Morde was his old passive. The constant shield regen made him such a fun drain tank. I never played his second iteration much, but his first one was a lot of fun.
pantheons old ult n passive were one of my most favourite thing about old league, especially his degen play style ,point click q go in with w e and win fight, and basically a passive fiora w, full ap pantheon man drop was the funniest shit ever
I loved so much the old Maokai’s ult, you really felt like a battle tank, now Maokai feel more like a sup that spam picmins in bushes and being a root bot, so sad it was removed..
I remember getting a penta kill with the old Mordekaiser R. Melted the enemy team's fed Draven, who just auto attacked everyone to death. It was mad funny looking at it
Ive got a recording of a Mord bug that if you ulted and killed a Jhin while he was in the process of firing his 4th shot, his ghost would never reload, giving him 4th shot crits until the ult ran out. Great Video!!
I so badly want Maokais old ult to come back in some form, but I remember it being placable and not surrounding Maokai? The idea of a tank who wants to set up and control a zone during a fight is awesome, I would love that to come back on a champ thats designed entirely around that concept.
I remember watching ur content for ms when u were still whiyu, then rotmg, and now your awesome league content. I love watching this channel and keep making great content!
Ive been enjoying maokai in arena, and there is one augment i felt was perfect for him, and that is the area burn around him, well now i know why it felt nice for him, cause it acts like his old ult
Old Eve was so much fun. I don’t think I played the game when she had the part of her W where it slows as she breaks stealth, but I do remember the broken stealth. Also worth mentioning that it was reworked again before it became the W she has now; there was an iteration of it where you’d press W and it would “cleanse” you (yes, legit. You could instantly remove “Exhaust”), instantly break the stealth, and then gives you a big ass speed boost. I used it for escapes most of the time, but you could run people down with it pretty well too.
I find that a lot of games first few updates/sessions/editions are full of a mixed bag of things that would be broken even in the modern game, and things that would have been rendered entirely obsolete. League had Poppy and Evelynn MTG has Black Lotus I think Yu-Gi-Oh has a few but I don't really play it Power creep is very real in games, but the chaotic power curve of first editions sometimes means older things can be completely broken even compared to power creep
It's nice to be reminded about all of that. I still remember how i played all of this in rarly seasons. Especially taking out ghost of dragon for the first time was really fun
Im so glad that someone recognizes the superiority of the whopper to the big mac. McDonald's Big Mac is carried solely by its sauce- the rest of the burger is a whimpy dry mess, held together solely by its sauce. Whoppers have fresher ingredients, frozen and delivered to the restaurant. The green is greener and crisper, and its ingredients are on average of a higher quality. Each ingredient pulls its weight. For your good taste sir, take my like and subscribe 😤
Morde's Jhin's 4th shot Loop was quite common, which is why a lot of people remember it, but it was far from the most broken thing. If you got lucky, you could ult/burst a Yi the moment he engaged, meaning the ghost would have unlimited R and E for the 60 second duration, if you where even luckier and his next auto would proc Blade of the Ruined King when he died, the ghost copied that too and applied it to *every auto*, because the old BortRK had no CD on it's effect. Meaning with some luck/timing you could have a 60 sec ult/e Yi that healed chunks on every auto, melted even the tankier champs, could solo baron in a few seconds and was the easiest penta could get.
When I first started playing League in early 2019, one of my first friends I made was a Mordekaiser main. When he was reworked, he stopped playing the champ cause he no longer had that unique gimmick he used to have.
I missed Mordekaiser Ult the most and it would've been the easiest thing to incorporate to his new kit. Keep the death realm thing, but when Mordekaiser kills the enemy, he still keeps the ghost and noth grab the spare change of stats on whoever he decides to bring to Brazil. Also, Mordekaiser items would be applied to the ghost, so if the match had a Caitlyin or Tristana late game, you have a 600+ range point and click slow to a single target that would be permanent as long the ghost hit the enemy.
2:25 Nocturne's ultimate was never global. On initial release the ult range was actually the exact same as it is right now. They nerfed it shortly after release, and then buffed it back to its initial values in patch 5.17.
I do miss having a pet dragon. I hope in some way that could come back for a new champion. Could have worked with viego, butt instead they went with a dmc character.
I absolutely despise Viego. They had so much to work off and they chose edgy eboy ghost man. His gimmick is temporarily stealing people’s kits and using their abilities but he ends up just getting free CC, mobility and ultimate reset before turning into Viego again to kill you with 2 autos. Like, they had such a great concept ability-wise but it doesn’t matter because he just AUTOS YOU. No creativity or having to actually learn how to play other champs, just spam R and alternate between unstoppability and untargetability every second. Such a disgusting waste of potential.
I remember old Maelstrom, played Maokai toplane, had Spirit Visage, Mercs and Sunfire. Teamfight comes, I'm the only survivor on my team, Vlad and Thresh the only survivor on enemy team. I fought those 2 with help of Maelstrom and passive long enough for both teams to respawn and fight again. Good times.
So fun fact about maoki's vengful maelstrom. what's shown in the video isnt even his first version of it. there was once a version where you place it on the ground like an anivia ulti
Rengar ult currently gives basically the same thing eve passive does now, its not invisibility its campflage. If im not mistaken the other 8 characters left with invis are kaisa, vayne, shaco, quiyana, talon, teemo, kha'zix, and akali*.
I remember old Galio ult being pretty fun, there's something satisfying about going in and nuking/cc-ing the entire enemy team with an aoe. It's why i love playing Amumu.
Things like this remind you of League's old Warcraft III, and thus by association, World of Warcraft DNA. Old Evelynn played almost identical to WoW's Rogue; coming out of stealth, hitting Cheap Shot, then stabbing you to death while you're stunned. Another, and arguably last remaining, piece of WoW DNA is Soraka, who is extremely reminiscent of a Draenei
I beg of you to cover old Yorick, specifically his R, that R to me was the most interesting in a long while. His entire kit was cool to me, a different ghoul mechanic per basic ability was so fun, but that clone/temporary revive ult thing was just hilarious
Oh old Morde's ult was beyond busted. I remember the times when you could win by feeding. You, as a Mordekaiser would die over and over again to the enemy Yi or Vayne while building full AP. Then, if you could kill them with ult, you had that ultra fed champion on your side, mowing down their own team.
It's worth noting that a large part of the community thought Evelynn was trash back in 2010ish until there was somebody (forget their name) that started making waves with Revive/Smite jungle eve
Riot could not have kept morde's ult at that moment because yes it was buggy af. Whilst viego gets to have access to everybodies abilities because at one point they literally rewrote the whole system of abilities from 0, around the time they started making champions that could steal/borrow abilities or various stuff, i think it was around sylass either that or they did that to be able to create sylas. I vaguely remember them talking about how at the time each abilities were basically bound to the character, while in their new system abilities exist as standalone and then the team just told the system what champions has which abilities. It was quite some work to do because they had to rewrite the system for about 130-140 champions that were at the time.
Fun fact: the old Mordekaiser abilities were all named after famous heavy-metal songs. Passive: Iron Man (Iron Man by Black Sabbath) Q: Mace of Spades (Ace of Spades by Motorhead) W: Harvester of Sorrow (Harvester of Sorrow by Metallica) E: Siphon of Destruction (Symphony of Destruction by Megadeth) R: Children of the Grave (Children of the Grave by Black Sabbath)
Old Morde was one of my favourite champions. Ulting them with Liandry's ans Rylais and having them slowed and burning to death was so great. Also, once they die, the ghost had your item passives too, so that ADC also now the burn and slow on autos. It was awesome. Im genuinely sas they got rid of thay ability. And im even more sas he lost his weird battle shield passive. I feel like they got rid of that for clarity, but man was it fun.
When it comes to Maokai's old ultimate, don't forget that it was eventually updated to follow him around, centered on his model. In other words, for many years before the update, it just sat on the ground where he cast it originally. Maokai's team had to stand in it an the enemy could easily walk out and take no damage. Lol
i remember when kog maw would just stand still infront of you and statcheck you and ud be so confused on how riot messed up, this was back before the overloaded adcs were added in and the idea of an adc just meleeing you was very alien
i think an important thing to note about old broken champs andnew 200 years champs, is that while the old champs were broken too, they were simple, if eve came out of invis and insta stunned you, it wasn't hard to comprehend, new champions have more text explaining what they do with one W than those champions have in their entire kits. which makes it a lot harder to understand why it's BS.
I remember when i was in a vs against my friends. There was an old morde build that literally crashed the game on a 3rd auto in personalized games. Was fun
back when you did wraiths and golems instead of raptors and krugs, every new champ didn't have a built in flash on 6 second cooldown, half of abilities were point and click, and you could buy mana pots and stealth wards individually. good times
In dota there is a hero called vengeful spirit that has old urgot ulti it is a point click swap that works instantly and it can be used on enemy or ally also it has huge cast range. Venge is a support hero and swapping with their carry and killing them would give her huge advantage. Also she could swap with their carry to save them. It is such a useful ability.
Dota´s abilities as a whole are a lot crazier than league´s abilities, barring some exceptions. It is one of the things I much prefer about that game over league.
Another thing about Jugg Morde is that his W made him get ALL of the experience from minion kills, so he became a popular pick in the botlane as he'd outlevel the botlane more reliably
Morde was my first main and I liked him because of his ghost. I wish that ability was still in the game. RIP. I think that Urgot's ult could easily be brought back on a support. They have it as an instant cast ult in DOTA so I feel like it wouldn't be crazy to have in League.
As much as we all miss the old Morde ult, I gotta say the new Morde ult is still a really sick concept. Literally dragging someone off the freaking map and forcing them to 1 v 1 you in a small arena. The brazil memes also made it pretty funny too.
"I don't imagine anyone having ptsd from Infinite Duress" Me, who started playing the game right when Devourer was released and got oneshot by point and click ww ult around 400 times because I was a complete noob: "Yeah, sure, I'm gonna go hug my therapist real quick"
Soraka could once upon a time heal herself with W. And the person she healed gained temporary bonus armour. Her old E was a point and click silence but could also be cast on an ally to give them mana. Or even herself, to give herself mana. And her Q would call down stars on all enemies around her, doing a bit of damage and reducing their mr. Her passive would make her w and r heal more depending on the targets missing health instead of giving her movement speed towards low hp allies.

Old Urgot wishes he had new Urgot's R, old Urgot's R wishes it was on new Urgot.
Really ironic.
Breh I was watching this while playing Fire Emblem and I could not figure out why my Switch was putting out music even though I had it muted.
Old Warwick built blade of the ruin king? Nah, he built malady, ionic spark, madred’s bloodrazor.
My qualms with old Urgot ult was that whenever I ult somebody, for some reason my team stops attacking them and run away instead of bitting em up
And also old Urgot was just a lane bully with his E Q combo, its absurd how he can hit you from one end of the screen to another
Wow I miss old Maokai ult. The Maelstrom was a blast
TF's old gold card was also AOE. Sett's w is also kind of like maokai's old ult, but only to himself.
I cant wait till you talk about pre-rework Karma, she would fit today's meta so well!
What I miss more about Morde was his old passive. The constant shield regen made him such a fun drain tank. I never played his second iteration much, but his first one was a lot of fun.
Man it’s wild that i remember ALL of these abilities…
I remember all the auras that used to be in the game… nunu, gp, ww, sona, taric…
pantheons old ult n passive were one of my most favourite thing about old league, especially his degen play style ,point click q go in with w e and win fight, and basically a passive fiora w, full ap pantheon man drop was the funniest shit ever
Dude dropped a nuclear bomb at the beginning and acted like it was nothing
Keep up the great content mate! (Also love the FE Awakening music in the background, it hits the spot 🙌)
Zac old ult was one of my favorites where you just dive into the enemy team and scoop them all up and fling them right into your team
Old Sion ult was super fun with extra Attack speed and Life Steal
Man seeing bjergsen play old urgot is such a throwback
I so badly want Maokais old ult to come back in some form, but I remember it being placable and not surrounding Maokai?
The idea of a tank who wants to set up and control a zone during a fight is awesome, I would love that to come back on a champ thats designed entirely around that concept.
That was the first iteration. The one around him was the second.
I remember watching ur content for ms when u were still whiyu, then rotmg, and now your awesome league content. I love watching this channel and keep making great content!
as someone who started playing in 2021 i find videos like this to be very entertaining and i love em. would love some more videos of deleted abilities
Honestly, old morde ult could work now! Now that we have the berserk status affect, it has the potential to work again!
8:42 the Kogmaw in the background not taking the lantern infuriates me
Ive been enjoying maokai in arena, and there is one augment i felt was perfect for him, and that is the area burn around him, well now i know why it felt nice for him, cause it acts like his old ult
shoutout to the warwick player at 3:34 for roleplaying as yamcha in the chat before ulting
Great vid. I wanna see part 3. There's more old abilities that got changed from the league like Draven's broken old passive.
League had Poppy and Evelynn
MTG has Black Lotus
I think Yu-Gi-Oh has a few but I don't really play it
Power creep is very real in games, but the chaotic power curve of first editions sometimes means older things can be completely broken even compared to power creep
yugioh had delinquent duo, the forceful sentry, yatalock...
It's nice to be reminded about all of that. I still remember how i played all of this in rarly seasons. Especially taking out ghost of dragon for the first time was really fun
12:14 laughed when you showed kraken as true dmg lmao great video vars as always thanks man
Im so glad that someone recognizes the superiority of the whopper to the big mac.
Please make more of these. But yes space them out. This is a good high potential series
Meaning with some luck/timing you could have a 60 sec ult/e Yi that healed chunks on every auto, melted even the tankier champs, could solo baron in a few seconds and was the easiest penta could get.
old mordes final Q strike would hit like an actual truck
More!!! The amount of nostalgia these are especially Kog'Maw and Morde!
In that short period where Kog’Maw had the double attack speed, he could jungle really well. Double the machete on hit for camps.
Rengar ult currently gives basically the same thing eve passive does now, its not invisibility its campflage. If im not mistaken the other 8 characters left with invis are kaisa, vayne, shaco, quiyana, talon, teemo, kha'zix, and akali*.
Feral Ww, old fiora, Darius, maokai(with the ult on the ground), irelia and morde(all versions) were my most played back in the day
Maokai's Old Ult made him a both a monster and super fun to play on ARAM. Though I do also miss playing the old Urgot as Support with his homing Q's.
I remember old Galio ult being pretty fun, there's something satisfying about going in and nuking/cc-ing the entire enemy team with an aoe. It's why i love playing Amumu.
nostalgia hits hard with these, remember them "foundly"
Things like this remind you of League's old Warcraft III, and thus by association, World of Warcraft DNA. Old Evelynn played almost identical to WoW's Rogue; coming out of stealth, hitting Cheap Shot, then stabbing you to death while you're stunned. Another, and arguably last remaining, piece of WoW DNA is Soraka, who is extremely reminiscent of a Draenei
Maokai's old ult was at first like anivia ult where it was only at a certain point. They eventually gave him the ability to have it surrounding him.
I beg of you to cover old Yorick, specifically his R, that R to me was the most interesting in a long while. His entire kit was cool to me, a different ghoul mechanic per basic ability was so fun, but that clone/temporary revive ult thing was just hilarious
i think old urgot ult on a new vanguard would just be the best like a no mobility tank
Passive: Iron Man (Iron Man by Black Sabbath)
Q: Mace of Spades (Ace of Spades by Motorhead)
W: Harvester of Sorrow (Harvester of Sorrow by Metallica)
E: Siphon of Destruction (Symphony of Destruction by Megadeth)
R: Children of the Grave (Children of the Grave by Black Sabbath)
It's such a weird feeling to see a vide about old removed abilities but these abilities were the new reworked version back in the day.
Was fun
back when you did wraiths and golems instead of raptors and krugs, every new champ didn't have a built in flash on 6 second cooldown, half of abilities were point and click, and you could buy mana pots and stealth wards individually. good times
I love your choice of music for your videos, do you mind leaving the name of the songs/themes in description of your next videos?
That version of Morde was my favourite, mainly due to the Q, the sound and feel it had were nice
Morde was my first main and I liked him because of his ghost. I wish that ability was still in the game. RIP.
I think that Urgot's ult could easily be brought back on a support. They have it as an instant cast ult in DOTA so I feel like it wouldn't be crazy to have in League.
thing about the old Warwick ult applying on hit effects 5 times was the bloodrazor back in the day, I miss this items every day q-q
As much as we all miss the old Morde ult, I gotta say the new Morde ult is still a really sick concept. Literally dragging someone off the freaking map and forcing them to 1 v 1 you in a small arena. The brazil memes also made it pretty funny too.
I just found this channel, now I have something to binge watch
"I don't imagine anyone having ptsd from Infinite Duress"
Me, who started playing the game right when Devourer was released and got oneshot by point and click ww ult around 400 times because I was a complete noob: "Yeah, sure, I'm gonna go hug my therapist real quick"
12:13 "and the true damage we have today *shows kraken*"
IF ONLY
