- Sunday saw the Jets reach a new low in 2019, and maybe even in the history of their franchise.
This season has been filled with embarrassing results for Adam Gase’s team. The Jets choked against the Bills. They lost to bad teams from Jacksonville and Cleveland, and they were demolished by the hated Patriots, but losing to the winless Miami Dolphins is a new level of embarrassment.
WFAN’s Joe Benigno said as much as he kicked off Monday’s “Joe and Evan” show with a rant for the ages. Benigno aimed most of his vitriol at Christopher Johnson and Gase, who he says should have been fired on the field immediately after the game.

Pats fan here, and I still remember the bad first down spot that defeated your team in Foxboro when Kotite took the blame. Even I was embarrassed for that spot. We lost that game in reality, so I think Rich was at least 2-14. Better than Gase will do probably.

I almost wondered if the spot was on purpose, but that is not something we can ever know. I hate to see bad calls even when they favor my team. Good fans on the other side get hurt by that, and I don't like it. I can tell you though, bad calls are part of the sport because the officials are human. I am not in favor of never ending replays to get it right, because there is no such thing. Yes, in that case they could have gotten the spot right, but in a lot of cases the more you see with your microscope, the more questions arise. It gets ridiculous at a certain point. Play effing football for chrissake! BTW, I think that bad spot was a catch by Ben Coates, but this where my memory fails me. Good luck with Darnold, and let's hope Gase doesn't ruin him before they show Gase the door.

He’s arrogant and egotistical; often letting his emotions govern his decisions. After taking a team he inherited to the playoffs: he then proceeded to facilitate the departure of key players from the offense and brought Jay Cutler(and Brock Osweiler) in to replace the injured Ryan Tannehill; which gave him a good excuse for why the team was mediocre until the following year when Tanne came back and the team remained just as sorry. Then after getting canned he pompously thought he’d stay in the afc east and “show them” yet all he’s demonstrated is that he’s learned nothing, he doesn’t seem to know how to make adjustments, nor does he appear to possess the ability to actually develop a quarterback (as Sam Darnold has significantly regressed and currently has more interceptions on the season than touchdown passes.)
His career record as a head coach is: 24-33
Including his 1-7 record this year.

Tua is going to be a 2 time Heisman candidate, came off the bench to win the National Championship 2017, threw for almost 4,000 yards in 2018 with 43 TD’s to 6 INT’s, and is increasing his completion percentage by a whole 15% this year.
Injuries shouldn’t make you comparable to Jamarcus Russell when Jarmacus didn’t give a damn about the game. Tua is a talented pocket passer who’s also capable of being a dual threat QB while having the production of a guy like Peyton Manning if not more. He’s not going to pass his mark this year but if you think for any reason that Justin Herbert or Joe Burrow is better than Tua you’re wrong. Tua has the experience for years and can read defenses but he’s not there yet. If he gets with the right coach and gets a solid OC then he’ll be a star.

They’ll probably end up with Tua, Yetur-Gross Manos and an offensive tackle or a WR within the first round, a RB and a DB within the second round, and probably some good depth talent in the offseason. They have the stockpile for drafts so what makes you think for any moment that they’re not going to tank to get that extra spot in the draft? You’d be foolish not to do that if you were a rebuilding franchise

IMO thought the 1983 AFC championship game was the most disappointing moment. We had a better team than the Dolphins that year. We had Richard Todd Freeman McNeil Wesley Walker on offense. On Defense we had the great NY sack exchange Mark Gastineau Marty Lyons and Joe Klecko. We lost cuz of that godam mud known as the mud bowl game. We should have won blame it on horrible field conditions. Plus it was one game of going to the Super bowl that makes it hurt the most.

As a long suffering Jets fan since 1965 I've witnessed a lot of shit over the years, but yesterday, believe it or not, was Rockbottom for me. My all-time worst feeling as a Jets fan, and that's really saying something.
I dealt with the loss to the Chiefs in the playoffs coming off our SB season as the Chiefs continued on to winning Super Bowl IV against the Vikings
I sat through the 1981 AFC Wild Card Game loss to the Bills that Richard Todd sealed with an interception.
I suffered through the infamous mud bowl when the Dolphins had failed to cover the field even though it's NFL protocol, but Don Shula was on the rules committee. What a joke!
Nonetheless, the field was left uncovered and our great offense was reduced to slipping and sliding, and once again Richard Todd came up small.

Just look at Flores and the dolphins, same record as the jets despite the fact that jets signed huge contracts for bell Mosley trumaine Johnson, and are clearly looking to at the very least be competitive, yet they have the same record and lost head to head against Mia because Flores players are actually buying in and playing hard even if they lack talent.
Dolphins are the least penalized team in the whole nfl, jets consistently take selfish 15 yd penalty which says directly that the head coach doesn’t have control of the football team. As bad as Mia is they play hard and are very disciplined for a bad team.

Sam Darnold getting sick and Mosley injured were major setbacks. Passing on Mike McCarthy was the biggest mistake Christopher Johnson ever made and will be something he will never live down.

To think, that every pundit on the NFL network and ESPN were saying that Adam Gase was a genius when he was hired by the Miami Dolphins in 2014. It was during the time that the "experts" said the same thing about Hue Jackson, remember him? The Jets are now finding out that Gase is way over his head. Mike McCarthy was available, but he said that he was taking time off for a year or two before he enters into coaching again.
