The definition is prior. But sometimes, when only date is collected - we have to rely on information in protocol on whether an assessment will be performed prior to administering the study drug on day 1. If the assessment is performed on the same day and protocol indicates that the assessment will be completed prior to study drug administration, we can/should use 'LE' if only date of assessment is collected.
