Problem with Kenyans iz that they think anyone can b president which is absolutely stupid. Sen. Mutula Kilonzo, please first things first. Raila has established a process to pick his running mate. Instead of Kalonzo respecting that process, he and his underlings, including Sen. Mutula, are busy trashing the Raila-established process, or otherwise claiming that the process is beneath Kilonzo’s stature. I think this is wrong headed. Here is why.
First, Sen. Mutual Kilonzo asserts that neither he nor Sen. Murkomen can interview Kalonzo Musyoka on account that he (Kalonzo) is a senior counsel. By saying this, Sen. Kilonzo is insinuating that it is disrespectful for Kalonzo Musyoka to be interviewed by his juniors in politics. This argument is not genuine or factual, even in the legal profession. Sen. Mutula is just making it up. Let me give you an example. The current Chief Justice Martha Koome was interviewed - for her current position - by people who were her junior in the legal profession. Second, even if we assume that Sen. Kilonzo’s arguments were true, there is -or there should be - a recognition here that the committee Raila has set up to help select his running mate is not just for lawyers only; it is a political outfit that includes people from all walks of life. Besides, Kalonzo Musyoka has always claimed and taken public pride that he is a servant leader. The question for him now is: where is that servant leadership now? Or it has been just mere talk?
Second, for awhile - in the recent past - it didn’t matter to me whether Raila picked Kalonzo as his running mate or not. Now, I am hesitant. Why? Because Kalonzo’s behavior towards Raila has been terrible lately, to say the least. Examples are many: 1) Kalonzo wants to be Raila’s running mate and prefers talking to President Uhuru instead of talking to Raila directly; 2) Kalonzo wants to be Raila’s running mate by force. Where on earth does it work like that? 3) Kalonzo is not campaigning for Raila, he just wants to be his running mate. No sweat equity at all; 4) Earlier in this election cycle, Kalonzo set up One Kenya Alliance (OKA) with Mudavadi and Wetangula for the sole purpose of isolating and undermining Raila. Raila soldiered on and built Azimio from the ground up. Now that Azimio is alive and kicking, Kalonzo now wants to “watermelon” his way to be at the Azimio high table. Who does that? Kalonzo should learn to comport himself well. This idea of him having no shame in his game is not working for him.
