Ranveer might have chosen a less-than-ideal narrator to simplify this story, as she seems to have missed the deeper philosophy behind Sun Wukong’s character. Sun Wukong, portrayed as a monkey, is a personification of the restless, untamed ego-symbolizing the mind’s impulsiveness and constant fluctuations. His journey reflects the struggle to discipline the self, a core theme in Buddhist teachings.

Buddha, or Siddhartha Gautama, was born into a culture heavily influenced by Vedic traditions, which later evolved into what we now call Hinduism. While he grew up in this environment, his teachings and the philosophical framework he developed form a distinct path known as Buddhism. Buddhism critiques and diverges from certain Hindu beliefs, particularly regarding concepts like the self, the nature of liberation, and the role of rituals. However, it also shares many ideas with Hinduism, such as karma and dharma. In a historical and cultural sense, one could say that Buddha emerged from the broader Indian spiritual landscape that included early Hinduism. However, the doctrines and practices of Buddhism represent a unique tradition that stands apart from Hinduism. So, while Buddha's roots are in the same cultural milieu, his teachings constitute a separate religious identity.

Chill guys, it's feels like Hanuman ji & Wukong ji is same, different stories, same belief in two culture. Buddhism spread in asia from Hindusims after it get separated and new religion was formed.
1- Buddhism is just Hinduism rebranded, you will find difference because there are major 6 philosophical schools in Hinduism where the difference in thinking starts, 2 - many Chinese scholars have personally visited India in the past and have documented what they witnessed in India so Chinese people know more about Indian beliefs, And the last if you believe Sun Wu Kong is not inspired by Lord Hanuman, Tell who am I talking about - " He who is born from celestial mother, grew up between inteligent monkeys and among them he is the most intelligent and powerful, He fought with Heavenly beings when he was a kid and became immortal, but because of his mischievous nature and ego of power his powers were sealed and after his apology he was told that he will be able to use his powers when the right time comes to serve right and just man. His well known powers are shape shifting, changing his size according to his will, super strength, super speed, ability to fly, super durability. His weapon is 2 handed blunt weapon. He is loyal to his master and protects him throughout their journey and is feared by the strongest of monsters. He is immortal and the most powerful exept avatar of lord Vishnu. "
Both Hanuman and Wukong have one massive similarity that is they both followed one master, meaning they both used to follow under the leadership of another person. In our case Hunaman follows Rama, in Chinese mythology Wukong follows Tang for a epic journey....now u decide how similar they can be😂
Wukong went to heaven and ate the peach fruit and was punished by the gods - Hanuman ji almost ate the Sun and was attached by Indra . Sounds absolutely similar 😅 And Buddhism is absolutely a part of Sanatana Dharma, every thing leads to Sanatana.
Just because something's older doesn't mean one is real and another is false If you have faith in one god another person will have faith in smth else. I believe that both sun wukong and hanuman both existed but in different times and different lands respectively
In Buddhism, there is no indication that the Buddha is considered an avatar of Lord Vishnu. Buddhism and Hinduism, while sharing some historical roots, follow distinct spiritual paths with unique beliefs and practices

Wo Kong is obviously the Chinese Version of Hanumanji ... the Stories of the Legendary Hanumanji Traveled to China along with other Ancient Indian Knowledge via the Spread of Buddhism and Buddhist Scholars during Maurya Dynasty & Chola Dynasty
Really does the story of Hanuman existed at the time of mauryans and cholas.... Is there any inscription describe the word Hanuma is there any traveller who accouted this
Naughty Monkey, Anjaani Parvat, / MOther Mountain, Gods treat gods give boon of strength , Cured by a Rishi, jailed by gods ... so they are remind him of his powers after a long journey Hanuman ji goes all the way to Sagar to be reminded of his Super power. ... Muntain to free Monkey Kind Sugreev to be helped master from Ocean sagar... Distorted Story of Hanuman... Well she explained very well.
So basically, it is an overview of Lord Hanuman's early life,
by Simplifying and exaggerating it from their side, they just made their own epic
Interestingly,it is seen all over the world, to stand against the one "ParaBrahm", they created Abraham as well, how eye-catching it is !
hanuman took a leap for eating sun thinking its a fruit got punished by indra , wu kong eats peach for imortality and the emperor punished him ,hanuman was mischievous in childhood ,wu kong was mischievous....hanuman ji was under the guidance of rama a pure human ,wukong under tenzen monk who was also pure hearted ,,,,,a monk who studied bhuddhism while coming to india wrote this story and changed some factors but totallly got inspired by hanuman

Buddhism is just a branch of Hinduism. Buddha himself learned so many things from Hindu saints and was a Hindu. In British period they created Jainism, Buddhism and Sikhism, etc to divide Hinduism. They are part of same family and teaching same thing, like shavism, vaishnavism.
It's not any branch lol. It's an atheist religion that later got dissolved in to hinduism through corruption.
I just came to type something in comments, but peoples already typing what I had to say😅
Hanuman's legacy is older than Wukong, and has some of his influence in Chinese culture !!
I'm sure lotta historians used to come to India from China !!

You should tell to her that Buddhism is the offshoot of Hinduism..

@@ak-gi3eu not a good way to put it.
Buddhism is a different religion when it comes to values and ways of living.
@@akshaysamel8972 In that case caste system is also a branch of Hinduism this is hilarious

Buddhism was an effort to revive Original Hinduism by Buddha, was corrupted by the priestly class.
Enough with the propaganda. Go read what Buddha and Buddhism actually says about Brahmanas. Buddhism is a later creation than Buddha and his Sangha(which is more like a guru shishya parampara already present in Hinduism).
Also read about the various gurus of Buddha. Moreover, what Buddha said is no different from Sanaatana Dharma.

What are your views on the Hanuman - Wukong theory. (For those who don't know, there's a theory that Hanuman, being immortal, got bored, decided to meditate, became stone and the stone broke and monkey King came out, which is believable as they have many similarities)
This is very similar story to Hanuman's. Born from Vayu, wind. Went to sun and ate sun thinking it as a fruit.
Main god indra, made him fall Hanuman to earth by hitting him using his main weapon Vajra.
Got curse from a sage that he'll forget about his superpowers, until he met Rama.

1- Buddhism is just Hinduism rebranded, you will find difference because there are major 6 philosophical schools in Hinduism where the difference in thinking starts,
2 - many Chinese scholars have personally visited India in the past and have documented what they witnessed in India so Chinese people know more about Indian beliefs,
And the last if you believe Sun Wu Kong is not inspired by Lord Hanuman, Tell who am I talking about - " He who is born from celestial mother, grew up between inteligent monkeys and among them he is the most intelligent and powerful, He fought with Heavenly beings when he was a kid and became immortal, but because of his mischievous nature and ego of power his powers were sealed and after his apology he was told that he will be able to use his powers when the right time comes to serve right and just man.

For the last five years I have been researching and doing PhD on Chinese and Indian history and how interconnected with each other, but unfortunately, 60-70% contribution is from Indian culture, stories, whatever,.but now because of capital, they are represented as like all are born in China .hahahahah what they say TIAN ZHU 天竺actual its PRESENT DAY SINDHU or SINDH .in Chinese language they don't have lots of sound redical so if they found some name they use some similar tonal word which slightly similar tone but different, or sometimes they according to the meaning they use some character as like BHARATIYA Moriya dynasty or mour /peacock - they call it as a translate is KONG QUE WANG CHAO孔雀王朝--- kong queue means peacock and WANG CHAO means dynasty. so in Chinese society lots of contribution from other societies but they often hide it and represent like themself. even in china lots of places they have the Ashoka temple with Ashoka pillar, many more still researching and digging big dady.
