I actually managed to get my hands on the squirtle as the Japanese promo a while back. I haven't looked at the trends for it so I'm interested in seeing whether the english or the japanese will gain the advantage. I will still be hunting for the english one for sure, but I think the difficulty of getting the japanese card will add some value to it.

@@KaibaTheBuisnessMenace Japanese usually stay around the same price point at release or lower unfortunately. Unless it's a super rare japanese alt-art promo only, different from the one in the set, it won't hold anymore value than the regular.
In my opinion. Reprint or not, whether english or japanese. The 151 set would always hold a special place in the heart of every pokemon fan. The sheer nostalgia of seeing the first generation pokemon is like seeing your old friend after a long a very long time. Not to mention the amazing art thats included in this set. I pray that the would do a reprint just so i can try completing mh master set 151. 😂😂

Any sealed booster box at a great price is a great investment. Also Pokémon Center ETBs! I think there is ALOT of growth that can happen with alot of the sets!
I came back with 151 after not collecting since my childhood. I definitely went in way too hard over the last couple months haha. But it was all in good fun. Going forward I’d like to become smarter about it. Maybe slowly try out some minor investments. But I’m mostly in it for the collecting!
Gen 1 is my favorite as someone who grew up with it, so 151 is really special to me. And from what the market says about it, then its special to a lot of others.

Just getting back into Pokemon after over 20 years. I know I’m past the hype but discovering 151 now as an old gen 1 collector really fills me with nostalgia. I’m hoping to invest in the set and hopefully collect a set of the starters to go along with my base set unlimited charizard, blastoise, and venusaur. I’ll hold them all to hopefully help my daughter with her finances someday.
This channel is absolute gold! My kids started collecting about a year ago, but when I kept finding cards scattered everywhere I decided to check their values…and now I’m also hooked. Your vids have helped me start building my collection knowledge 💪
151 took me straight back to the playground at school. Swapping and trading base set cards from stuffed binders. Those Pokémon are iconic and much loved 💚
Best memory was my late dad investing in Pokémon when I was 11 and buying all the gym leader box sets going into the hobby when gym heroes came out. I’ll never forget when he brought those home to surprise me when I was sick in bed.

I'll probably pick up some nice illustrations in the upcoming months. I'm mostly trying to add some pretty cards to my own collection, but I've also been collecting some full art cards for my kids to give them for Christmas. They still have that innocent way of collection based on how cool something looks, and don't care about the financial side (yet) which is something that makes me happy
Great video as always good sound information and not much bias at all. I recently collecting again in hopes that they will become good investments for my kids future (along side traditional investments). I remember being a kid and collecting and having the foresight to see that one day they could be valuable so I kept them safe in a binder and I had soooo many 1st edition halo charzards and everything probably had the complete set for the first print in the us but my grandma made me throw them away because she thought they were demonic 😢.. I won’t let that happen to my kids though lol my mom knows how valuable they could possibly be one day so she’s on board and their cards are safe 🎉

Haven’t bought Pokémon since 2000. I have a ton of 1st, fossil, rocket and 2nd edition cards in binders at my folks house. I will have to go through them over the holidays! I’m getting back into collecting though. Waiting for a 151 reprint so I can buy UPC and some boxes for reasonable prices.

Just discovered this channel and love the channel. Others in the space are far too kiddy 😂. Im just dipping my toes into the collecting investing waters. Havent gotten anything yet but Had tons of cards when i was a kid that have been lost to time unfortunaly, but thinking of trying to collect my favorite team from back in the day (original edition) at affordable psa levels (Snorlax, Scyther, Gengar, Gyaradose, Hitmonlee and mewtwo). Would you gave any advice regarding minimal acceptable psa levels for collecting them with an eye towrds them also functioning as an investment that could make a profit in the long term?

I think Stellar Crown will be big in the future. The new style change with the rainbow colors and style change of the Tera form Pokemon. Then they also have illustrations rares of Bulbasaur and Squirtle.

With the current state of 151, Its hard. I went out and paid big bucks for a 151 ultra collection box (its wounderfull) art work is amazing on the cards. Problem i dislike It seems for Us Aussies, 151 stock is completely out (australia wide), with few places having some Zapados boxes left, At a huge mark up... Meanwhile the Amercian market has seemlying had new stock In most the big sale companys at Standard prices in the last month with restocks Everyweekend which is nuts. :(
Ever since you made a video about investing in something you love, that is the route I have taken. You simply said that if it doesn't work out, you just open it with your kiddos and have a great time and I love that philosophy. I've never enjoyed investing as much as I do now.

I watched a video done by another utuber and they rated twilight masquerade as a trash set. Here, I'm no expert in pokemon investment, I mainly just play the game and even as a player I'm never hardcore enough to complete the pokedex. But even I know how popular Greninja is. Just based on the raw prices, the greninja card is one of the highest amongst all released sets of S n V. And what's even more amazing is that the price of twilight masquerade is not high at all compared to other popular sets like the 151! So I bought myself two booster boxes haha, I do think over time these booster boxes are goanna raise in value
Prices for singles can be so random at times. No matter if the card is hard to pull or not, so I personally just like collecting very cheap full arts that I find beautiful to look at and then maybe some of them will get random spikes of interest and some will not, but as I bought them during a cheap period, then I am fine with that. This is definitely not an ultimate investment but satisfying nonetheless
Picked up a Groudon #199 psa 10 today, probably overpaid a little bit. But us European commoners are expected overpay for everything. No pokemon center, can't even ship to PSA without jumping through hoops.
In my opinion the best investment is to collect 151 set preferably with as many promo cards as possible...and buy the Voltorb Professor Program...that card is everything..after that repeat the same thing with Twilight Masquerade with all the promo cards...and that's it in the binder...
