Just bought one ten days ago. Very happy with it, is cheaper than a mid-size pick or a used full size. And it has everything I need! 42k OTD
The aftermarket support on them is insane! I hope they continue the model into 2023 so I can order one from the factory when I upgrade if I can't afford better yet. Predicting a 50-60K vehicle in 23 for me.
@@timbrwolf1121 I just bought one last month myself. I love the classic body style. It’s a fantastic vehicle.
I paid 45k for a top of the line Ranger FX4 Lariat two years ago and the truck was absolutely awful. I consider it my worst large purchase ever made. I have one of these as a rental right now and they are great. I've been online trying to find one to buy and cant find one anywhere.
What's the difference between a Ram 1500 and a warlock? Is it just trim?
@@bdevereaux trim. Special powder coated blacked out emblems, bumpers, rims, tires. So yes trim package
Bought mine earlier this year. Has a bench seat but not many bells and whistles. But I absoloutly love it, its so comfortable and the v6 has plenty of power. The interior is very quiet and you barely hear the road. I also prefer the exterior styling over the newer rams. Highly recommend if you're in the market for a budget truck
Upgraded to a Warlock after my 2013 Express got totaled. I couldn't be happier with my new truck. Rides smoothly has plenty of power, and is great looking.
It's a great truck for someone that wants a new truck but don't the high cost of most new trucks on the market today. A young person that wants a truck that's still sporty looking and with most things you need this will get the job done.
Ram's marketing straisgy a winner in my opinion.
The classic warlock granted not in same class as newer generation geared to first time pickup buyers, also those on a budget with the outrages price of vehicles now who want a basic no frills truck for transportation.
Absolutely love my white and black warlock, finally gotten to where I like it with tires, lift, led lights, pioneer radio, remote start and a ton more. Mine has plenty of room being a crew cab🤷🏽♂️
I know this is a year later, but what lift and wheels did you get? Picking up one end of this month trying to figure out what to do lift wise
I brought mines 2021 warlock, red and black. 26,000 miles on it 0 regrets, gets me to point A-B, kids toys In the back, great interior, I'm not paying 50K plus for anything
How much was it?
I bought mine in January, because it was the only new truck on the lot. Had a 5th gen 2019 that was developing a lot of problems; so I traded it in on this. Hated it, a lot, at first; couldn't compare to my 5th gen in anyway. Did a lot of research looking for an excuse to trade-in the Warlock for anything else and discovered that it has an amazing reputation for dependability. So I've accepted the noise, rough ride and frequent shifting in trade for the peace of mind that it should be problem free a long time.
You must love dodge if you traded in a 2019 because of problems for another 2022 dodge. How much can really change in that short of a time?
@@bmacster1985 i think he swapped ftom 5th to 4th
@@azizkizbayev439 oh I see
Purchased mine last month …love it .doing a 3.5 ready lift / on 35/ 12.5 / 20 .overall love the truck 💯👍🏻
Wow sounds badass. 🔥
I had a 2019 and traded it in on a 5th gen and it was a big mistake! The Warlock was the best truck ive ever owned.
I looked at one of these when truck shopping. I liked the styling, but felt the interior was lacking when compared to the new gen Ram's. I ended up spending a little bit more and ordered a fully loaded Big Horn with the Backcountry package. Can't wait for it to come in.
It's basically a Tradesman, so that would be why.
This is the ds model...majority used as a work truck... the dt model (luxury) the most u see on the road is more family oriented and usually fully loaded or semi loaded
I was speaking of Warlocks in general. You can get them optioned up with just about everything, but I doubt you'll find a dealership that will order one, optioned beyond, 46k msrp. (With the default V6 package, being about 38k)
The default configuration of a warlock crew/quad, is a 1" higher stance with heavier shocks. The rebel front grille with the tow hooks, led fog/driver lamps, led tail lamps, duel chrome tip exhaust, cloth seats, satellite radio, blacked out - badges, bumpers and wheels.... and nothing else.
What I have noticed with the 2021 Warlocks most don't come with fog lights. the price has jumped up more than $10,000 it used to be a good deal but now you may as well get a 5th Gen RAM a Big horn.
Agreed. MSRP for my truck was $48, 025; $44k OTD including TT&L was the better deal 👍🏽
Need the utility group w/ tow hooks to get the fogs. Front tow hooks should definitely be standard on an offroad-y trim. Mine has it but most of the warlocks on the lot I was at did not have them
I like these, not too much extra crap and electronics on it. Comes in a v6 or a v8 but for me I’d get the v6 for gas mileage. And it’s reliable plus affordable. The Laramie and longhorn and all those 60k plus trims are nice and all and I would totally buy a TRX cash if I win the lottery lmao (who wouldn’t) but for me now where I’m at I’d like something more simple and rugged that I can bang up a little and not worry. And like I said nothing wrong with the v8 HEMI but I won’t be towing all the time and it will be a daily driver so gas mileage is number one for me right above reliability and longevity. Also I prefer the classic look personally. Reminds me of my dads old second gen.
I traded in a 2017 Lincoln loaded MKX for my current 2020 ram 1500 limited. Originally looking at Lincoln Navigator a year or two old at the time but after owning 4 Lincoln vehicles I went with the ram. Absolutely love it! Lincoln vehicles break all the time, and I average maybe 7000 miles a year. Just hit 15,000 on the ram without ANY issues. That is a first for me, done with ford products. At that time the dealership told me the classic was a cheaper model for work trucks and would not be around long! Usually turn around on vehicles every 3 years but this ram is a keeper, unless a TRX deal comes along! Dude, less coffee it's really hard to understand you. It's like an auctioneer doing a review!
I feel as though I've been summoned.
My favorite pickup truck! Great video Ben.
I got a 2019 Classic 4x4 with 5.7 and crew cab, 18k miles, no accidents, one owner for $35k.
Is it outdated? Maybe. Depends if you care about assisted cruise control but you can't even find a Tacoma 4x4 V6 for the price I paid so I'm happy they still make these.
And call me crazy but the 4th gen Ram holds up a lot better than other previous gen full size trucks IMO. The styling is subtle enough to not age quickly.
Pre-covid these trucks were in the mid $30k price and that’s a great deal for essentially a budget rebel. $45+ for this? No thanks.
50k where I live. I wanted one but no way am I paying that.
Everything is over priced, how sad
60k where I'm at
My Father in law Bought a Renger Lariat 55K
We aren’t pre Covid and never will be. I know your post is a year old but these are still good trucks for the money.
I am picking up the Ceramic Grey Package 2022 Ram with Crew Cab and the Hemi .. it came almost loaded minus leather.sunroof for about $54K Canadian. Our dollar about 30% weaker so about $40K USA equivalent. I am really looking forward to my new ride, was about $20K under a similar new chassis Ram.
Picking mine up Monday!! Can’t wait. Mine is loaded with sport hood crew cab And all the options.
This is a odd one, this classic model is 4 years running now, it's almost it's own generation , Gen 4.5 😀.This classic runs usually one crossover year. 50k here doesn't make sense to me, spend a little more and get a Rebel or one of the GT models.
Right. A local dealer wanted 50k for a quad cab warlock. I told them I'd rather order a new tradesman with everything that truck has for 6 or 7k. Screw these prices.
A few hundred dollars up graded suspension and it’s a perfect truck , reliable and will last at least 300,000 with no major repairs
The transmission is exactly the same as the new style. I don’t understand your logic.
the ENTIRE video he was just selling The NEW ram, why would he make a video of the 4th Generation, and continually say its not as good as the new ram - about pretty much Everything !!
alot of the 4th Gens are still being Sold, so you might want to rethink on how you are doing videos for What you are driving ...
Just traded in my 2014 RAM Tradesman V-6 for a 2022 version of the Warlock. What a difference.
I could definitely hear it’s louder than my 5th gen, but I like it haha. Owned both and I’ll say the 5th gen had better interior and performance, but they have issues of their own. I wouldn’t hesitate at all to buy a new or used 4th gen, they’re good trucks. The $50k price tag is just steep considering I got my 2019 5th gen brand new for about $43k.
I just bought this truck this is why I cannot stand social media because now everyone says this truck is shit and that this or that is better why can’t everyone keep their own opinions same thing happened with my ecoboost mustang everyone said it was shit and It drove me nuts like this drives me nuts like is there really anything wrong with this truck I just bought it like how can people think it’s shit ugh so frustrating
😂 haha don't get stressed about social media lol. if it makes you feel better i've got a warlock and im loving it. hemi and all bring on the gas prices idc. a couple of additional notes your social media friends did not mention: comes wit a lil 1" lift so if you are not into mods it may be good enough right from the lot; heavy duty rear shocks and rear led lights curtesy of the "parts bucket"; the incentives for classic here in canada are significantly better than the dt so the sticker difference is not the only thing to consider in value.
@@kigaku_yt love you brother ❤️
i have a 21 ram warlock i love it. my biggest reason i wanted a v6 and didn't like the etorque to new don't trust it. and used trucks were to expensive pretty much looking at similar price in my area. i love my warlock happy with my purcharse.
I heard that V-6 gets close to 30 MPG on the highway!
@@robqwertyuipp8750 I'm not sure on the specs but it's really good. i drive over 100miles a day mostly highway not much street. and i usually fill up about once a week. on street driving its bad gets like 15miles.
@@robqwertyuipp8750 I have just under 900 miles on my 2021 V6 WARLOCK.. and my average is about 16MPG combined
Amazing news! I have mY2018 rebel equipping 5.7L. in KR. Thought already had phased out model but still available to buy a brand new..
2021 Ram 1500 Classic Warlock!
Recently got this truck..happy with it except for my compass not working now ( worked fine for weeks..now just 2 little lines where the compass directions were..S...N..SW.. etc..).. couldn't find any way to deal with it in truck..going to have to take it in..which I'm very ticked off about it...for the money I paid for it...yes..I'm not happy about already having to take it in...but everything else is cool
Gate and seats are heavy? Eat some meat
Great review Ben👍
Looking at the 2023 classic 1500 2 door 4WD with the 8 foot bed, base model with the chrome package, limited slip and a few other things, that 8 foot bed is huge.
Do people undercoat vehicles anymore? i see the one i am looking at isnt undercoated
They want alot for that! Prices have gone up about my 2019 ram 1500 bighorn for 42 g. And it came with a lot more than that truck does...........
My Dad loves this truck!
Aw man! Despite being a classic they still have that new rotary shifter. Is the column shifter still offered on these?
those went away when the 8speeds became standard. I'm still not fully on board with the dial shifter lol
I had a 2014 with a rotary.
@@Jay-ns5ub I know they had a calm shift option or something. Just surprised for the classic name. They use the rotary shifter instead of the old school column shift.
Lol my 14’ ram 1500 does not drive like a new 2500 the 2500 has rougher suspension and the solid axle doesn’t steer like the IFS. Not sure how the warlock drives in particular but I would expect it to be similar to my 14’.
nice way of downselling the Warlock calling it a "Parts Bin Truck"
I love my Warlock, but thats exactly what it is.
Looks tight in the back passengers. Does it come with a crew cab?
The back seats are pointless
50k for prior gen truck? Just why lol. Could get a new gen big horn for basically the same price…
They will also keep making this because this is the only regular cab they have. Commercial vehicles usually last way longer than consumer vehicles because apparently consumers always want something newer apparently.
I look at one a yr ago and i found one with the rebel package loved it but the sold it the next day and i have not seen one since then
How is the basic fabric seat on long trip, is it comfy or suitable for a short ride only?
Not ith the V-8's !
Regular gas is almost 1.60 a liter here in ontario Canada
Is the drive train as far as the tranny and motor the same as the newer models?
Wish they offered the 3.0 for the classic lineup
Just bought one today
I had a 2015 brand new 0 miles and paid 35k crazy how expensive they are now
I bough a new RAM quad cab in 2007 for 22K out the door!!! Sticker was 32 and they took 10K off no questions asked lol
@@gthisgirliswild Love them power wagons!!! A little too pricey for me though lol I gotta stick with the big horns!😝👍
Why would you buy this instead of say a Bighorn ??? 🤔 I have No idea?????
🤷♂️
@@BenHardyCars $ Cheaper and more room to negotiate
You can order it with the push start, the rambox, the premium sound, the new rebel hood, the offroad package, towing package, sunroof, etc. The one in this video was very basic. If you get every single option, it's around 61k and it can do just about anything. Tow, off road, etc.
Your getting a truck that looks like the Rebel, the Bighorn is nice but it's a different look. Also, go add all these options to the Bighorn and see how much it costs you. Add Rambox system, premium sound, offroad package, sunroof, etc etc. That Bighorn will be 15k more at least plus tax on that extra depending on what state you live in.
@@tommymccomic7715 Well I guess if you got the money go for it!😝👍 All I got is bighorn money with not too many options added lol
Since the 1970's originals DODGE / RAM has been dusting off the LI"L RED TRUCK & WARLOCK Editions. In the 1980's DODGE even did a LRT Ed. on a DAKOTA. RED obviously with scaled down Gold Door Logo.
Can’t wait to see the Warlock soon… but first the Power Wagon 😁
Power wagon been out🤡
@@capalot_ray6530 We have 4 on order coming….
Only thing I don't care for on the power wagon is the gearing of its differential... 4.11 is not a ratio I would ever want or need...
Not sure if its softer suspension setup, is worth it either... not like I'd be racing the thing over sand dunes....
I have the 2019 4x2 love it
Says 2022 in title but then window sticker says 2021 lol
My favourite truck is dodge 1500
2022 is 100% the same as the 2021 and 2020 and 2019 lol no changes at all
I just bought a 2020 Warlock 3 weeks ago Hydro Blue and I love it, looks way better than this one and with more features.
So, its an optionless 2016 Ram Rebel? I don't understand this trim level. Is it really just left over parts from last generation Rebels?
It's essentially an SLT with Rebel body parts. Works for me, I'm always on rough roads, so higher clearance powder coated bumpers and factory flares make it a nice budget offroad truck.
2021 and 2022 suppose to have the 17” rebel rims and off-road tires…. Why doesn’t that one have them?
All Terrain package (optional) has the Rebel 17's
The comparison is to the Chevy Colorado and the Ford Ranger. Not to the new Ram. So, of course they still make them. The idea is that you get a full size truck with similar gas mileage to their smaller trucks. Like the old Dakota, you get a step up in size from the Chevy and Ford offering. Your review is totally flawed.
Do a ford explorer st and xlt pls ❤
These make sense for under $40,000. Anything more no
Good review. The rough ride comes from having the heavy duty shock package. Unlike the "new" editions it also doesn't have the nightmare e-torque b.s. new isn't always better.
Is it me or does this warlock look like the parts taken from other Ram trucks doesn’t really flow with this vehicle? It’s also got an old school push turn key instead of push start lol.
It is a parts bucket
Many of us on a budget will happily look past its old school feel and be glad we don't have a payment that keeps us awake at night.
2021 or 2022 🧐
Just an update; Had this truck four months now and still hate it! I hate the little 3.6l screaming all the time, the constant shifting because it's under powered, the rough ride on a 69 year old back and I just can't get use to all that cheap black plastic hanging on the front end. I'm thinking this truck has got to go, and soon.
Why did you buy it if you hate it? The 3.6 has plenty of power for me.
For the price of one of these new just buy a first gen rebel
They are rust buckets after 7 years. Otherwise pretty durable.
I think the Warlock is ugly as hell. The Tradesman with plastic, with chrome or dark package and the Express in body color or with the dark package are all so much better looking and exemplify the 4th gen far better than this beluga whale or something.
Dang these things are priced like BMWs
The title says 2022
50k??? Outrageously overpriced
The back seats are a complete joke
never seen an ext cab truck before?
Bighorn is better
first🔥
