Venmo is a mobile payment service owned by PayPal. Venmo account holders can transfer funds to others via a mobile phone app; both the sender and receiver have to live in the U.S. Venmo is a type of payment rail. It handled $12 billion in transactions in the first quarter of 2018.[1]
Since 2008, cash transfers using Venmo have not been instantaneous and could be canceled after an initial transfer is sent. Like traditional wire transfer they can take one to three business days to become final. In January 2018,PayPal rolled out an instant transfer feature on Venmo, allowing users to deposit funds to their debit cards typically within 30 minutes. A fee is deducted from the amount for each transfer; 1% or $10, whichever is less. The standard bank transfer (typically completed within 1-3 business days) is available for no fee
The service allows users to request and transfer money to another Cash account via its Cash App or email. Users can then choose to withdraw the money with its debit Visa card, called Cash Card, in ATMs or transfer it to any local bank account.
The Cash Card is a black, customizable card. Users are asked to sign their name on the mobile app. The signature will then be printed into the card and sent to the user.
Square Cash also introduced their unique username, known as a $cashtag. It allows users to transfer and request money from different users by entering such username.
As of March 7, 2018, the Cash App supports ACH direct deposits

Just in case anyone is still having trouble you can still do this if it doesn't allow you to instantly add which it doesn't allow me you can manually do it. And when it said you couldn't do this by the Bank transfer yes you actually can. And that might be the only way now n days bc it wouldn't let me instant. But you have to just go in and do manually add, which you would then the routing and account # then yes you would have to wait 1-3 biz days. But it does work.
When you were trying to send money from your Venmo to your cash app was your cash app card locked because when mine is locked, it will not let me transfer money to it from my Venmo but if it’s unlocked it will

Has Venmo changed the app to stop this? I don’t have the same drop down menu on my Venmo App. There’s no ‘manage balance’ option.
Right below your balance it should say it. I didn’t have to click the three buttons menu thing. It was just on the screen right under the balance
It will be under your Venmo card when you click on your Venmo card manage account will be right underneath it in big blue letters but when you do it make sure your cash app card is not locked because it will not send it

Please was your venmo already connected to a bank before you added the cash card
This does not work for me. It will only tell me to get a cash app money card.
It told me there’s and issue with the card I’m trying to add to try a different card or bank account
there's 2 places to add a debit card.. the easy obvious one didnt let me add there either.. u gotta go to settings and then to payment options.. then u can add it there

Yes I believe so if the cardholder name doesn’t match it wouldn’t even allow you to add the card for security purposes

Make sure your cash app and Venmo card is not locked if they are locked. They will not let you transfer.
