The trike dumped me in my first 5 seconds of riding but after that it was better. I took a while to get the hang of the assist and the balance of the back tires on the crown of the road. After about 7 rides I love riding the trike but I am still very cautious and I don't let my kids ride on the road since the first ride they took in the park they literally drove it into a chainlink fence because they forgot to use the brakes and were going pretty fast.

Thanks for the thoughtful, educated and non-paid review. 👍 I'm researching several e-trikes. The EVELO Compass has a better design, protection bar underneath and a rear differential.
Take it to a welder and have a removable skid plate put under the rear axle to protect the derailleur. If you're riding on road don't worry, but if you're doing rough terrain you may want to consider it.
And get a horn that plays "La Chucaracha". The stock horn is sad.

I enjoyed this video I bought a trike last year .. My first day out I broke my ribs ouch here I am a 67year old Grammie .. My trike wasn’t this brand it is very tippy my trike is bigger and has bigger fat tires .. My trike was Anywhere Bike .. I got it in Sept for my Birthday broke my ribs put 14 Mike’s on it been stored since now my health has declined and unable to ride it and it for sale .. Shes wrong about the key turning on the battery . You only use the key to remove the battery . As far as stability they are as safe as any other upright tryke and the motor has more than enough power to ride off in high gear . The power was cutting off because she was squeezing the brake lever.
In time you will learn that thing in time and have a blast with it
As for safety ....any machine is only as safe as its rider (too much caution can be more dangerous than not enough)
I recommend the Bell full enclosed helmet for cold weather. That cold is painful on the face without.

What’s the name and length of your chain lock? Also please do a video of how you chain it.
It sounds a little complicated. I wouldn’t mind trying one out to rent somewhere, but I’m sure I would never buy one, especially since I am a senior myself.

The battery catching fire is a thing...most e bike battery are made in China. Thats above and beyond any other danger, as they can happen with little warning.

My 7 year old rides out 2 wheel E bike, figure a trikes safer if they go slow on turns.
I rode a motorcycle all my adult life and that thing looks like something I'd never get near.
