⭐️ About this Episode:
Well, we have frozen water lines at the off grid cabin. Now I have to find out where and thaw them out. Good news is we have a Spring that won't freeze so we can get all our water directly from it via bucket or pot until its fixed. Just like the good ole days.

That ending was absolutely priceless! The sheer struggle when completely exhausted.
Towards the end when your son's falling asleep. I miss that with my kids. Those were such precious days.
When you know its going to get cold. You should run the water slightly to get water moving through your pipes. Harder to freeze running water
That ending with Gabriel was priceless 🥰
Priceless but he never dropped his biscuit. Stay warm blessings. In Texas feeling the freeze. 🥶
The end of this was SO incredibly sweet & precious‼️❤️😴
You mr family is so precious! Enjoy these days with them little! It will fly by! I have four children as well, now they are all grown, 18, 20, 23 & 26! Watching your channel reminds me of the fun, the giggles and the family time we all loved when mine were little! Enjoy those snuggles and toothless giggles!
Thanks 😊
I was wanting that baby to lay his sweet head on that pillow so bad. 💕
Your little guy falling asleep at the end, we call that fishing where I come from. You have a lovely family man. thanks for sharing.
Thank you
OMG!!!! Leila losing her tooth, sledding, and then Gabriel at the end was the perfect ending to a great video! Brings back so many memories that I wish I could of had on video. You guys are blessed to have such a beautiful family. Thank you for sharing! ❤😊
Oh my goodness when that baby was falling asleep, I so enjoyed that!!!
Loved seeing the kids and Laine sledding. Gabriel at the end was so sweet.
Always leave a trickle of water running. It does work
One of your best blogs. Who needs to watch rving when we can watch the kids
Thank you 😊
Your little one exhausted on the couch with his roll! Oh my goodness so precious!! 😊
loved that ending!!
The kids so durn cute I like when little man tell you go buy a new one someone it bobbing weaving he tired he so handsome.
Ope, Gabriel is "snow drunk" passing out with his dinner roll in his knickers! Looks like every middle aged guy in any cold climate after a long day out in the weather! Such a trooper!
I have 6 girls and 1 boy and we don't live in the city !!! Sure miss them days. They are all grown up now.
I had same problem some years ago at my off grid cabin. at the time I had CPVC pipe that split. went with PEX and I insulated all my pipes and all around my craw space . never froze again. even -20F and not the wind chill either . parts of NY gets cold ! you could even put heat tape on pipes when you have AC it will keep pipes warm but most important insulate all pipes and tank . stay warm ! have fun with kids !
Love the ending. Perfect after such a fun day!
That view from the porch to the dam with the sun rising is what I think heaven will be like. All the most beautiful vistas we've experienced in our lives a 1000x's better.
You can install a drip line to that valve for nights like that just open the valve a touch to allow a small amount of water to keep flowing and prevent the freeze from happening again
Great comments but BEST part is Gabriel 18:32 to 19:36 never letting go of his dinner roll or beanie (maybe it's a sock?). God bless y'all that made A LOT of mommas & grand-mommas day. :)
Thanks 😊
I had such a good laugh when the gang was sledding.
Always run a small stream in the sink so it won’t freeze up. Or maybe fill the Berkeley up at night
You don't have to put the water in the back of the toilet, pour it right in the bowl and it will flush on its own using the least amount of water
Omg the best was the sledding. The kids loved it and momma tooo.
Omg the babe falling a sleep was to cute
Love y’all 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
Hey Guys, I own a campground in eastern Canada and late in the season when we know it will freeze overnight we "crack" a valve open ever so lightly just so we have water dripping. The water movement prevents the pipes and fittings from freezing. Looking at your setup this could be done on really cold nights at the valve you have right after the pressure gauge. Sheet insulation laid temporarily over the pipes in that area would also help. Love your videos, keep it up!
Want a wonderful vlog. What a darling family. Love those youngins!! Y'all are great. So glad I saw your post on Justin "Salesman" Rhodes commercial. Now I have a wonderful channel to watch. Just enjoyment for this little old lady who is just.looking for good family entertainment.
Thank you 😊
I’ve used pool noodles to insulate my pipes ;)
Love your Stove - Please put that poor baby to bed! ha ha
What a beautiful video! I can’t thank you enough for sharing it with us. We love your family and appreciate you sharing all that love with us. ❤️
Thank you so much 😊
"Ladies first." lol!! That's what my girlie says to her 5 brothers. Sometimes being the only girl works to your advantage! :D
In cold weather, always leave a little leak at a low valve running to stop pipes from freezing.
Such a beautiful place. Thanks for sharing with us.
It'll take a few days above freezing temps to thaw out outside. Good thing you have lots of water from the spring. You're doing good and you'll be better prepared for if there's a next time.
This may sound crazy.. but I found myself missing the sound of crunchy snow. I grew up in North West Central IL... oh, the memories!! I am glad you have a running stream! That is a huge blessing!! I currently live in NC in between Raleigh and Greenville. :-)
Glad you guys are staying safe and having a blast in the snow! I second using heat tape for all your pipes in unconditioned areas. That’s what we did for our pump house and it has worked great. Plus it has a built in thermostat so it only turns on when it dips below freezing to save power!
Sounds perfect! Thanks!!! Hope y’all are doing well!!

What a perfect ending...God bless you all!
That was just too cute he finally fell asleep. But anyway leave your water just barely running tonight will not free God bless you may take care be safe and have a wonderful week or weekend God bless you all
be happy anytime👍🙂
What a fun family day sledding. The part showing your young son nodding off was precious. Great family video.
Glad you got your water running.
Stay warm.
Bruce from Mason Michigan
If you don’t leave the water dripping you could get pipe heating wrap which is electric and it heats the pipe to prevent from freezing. Or you could just insulate the pipe in hopes of keeping just warm enough to not freeze.
Beautiful life.
Best ever sleepy boy!!! Laughed and cried at how precious that was.
So precious
Absolutely love what you've done. Your home is beautiful and I hope you manage to get the water wheel fully working
You need to get a small fan, cut a hole near the wood stove and put in a register. On the end in the crawl space mount that fan. Now on the opposite corner of the crawl space along that piping wall. Cut in another register. That will warm the crawl space. And your floors will be warmer too. The sled is not broken, it is just missing a bunch of duct tape. I laughed so hard at the head nod trying to ward off sleep. OMG
thanks
If you want to keep your water wheel from freezing, put a bubbler in your pond. The have wind powered ones at Rural King and farm stores.
The view and place looks so beautifu
Absolutely awesome!
Lil man was just fighting it so hard lol. Great job with the hair dryer. When I grew up we used one all the time for frozen pipes and drains. Still do and works great for frozen cars too. Love the cabin. Hopefully you can get the water wheel straightened out and add some solar soon to run the gen less. Have fun sledding!
Thank you 🤗
on solar keep bottom edge about 4 to 5 feet off ground so snow slide off solar paned and not pile up. need buy two person sled may be two a race.
Ok I really loved this video!
Now you know what freezes.
exactly.. and how cold it has to get to cause it
Priceless
When it’s this cold, before you go to sleep shut the water off at night from the source & then drain all the water from the pipes. Then pour some anti freeze down the sink & bathtub. In the morning when you wake up all you’ll need to do is turn the water back on from the source.
Good idea! Thanks
Creating good memories
😊👍👍. God bless y’all ✌️
Literally “nodding off”. 😍
Snow is also pure.
Thank you for sharing your solutions and precious family memories! 🖖🏻👍🏻🙏🏻😘
The shepherds pie looked so good
Love some good shepherds pie!
Heat tape on pipes and or IR Heatlamp will do wonders for pipes
Loved it!
It is beautiful in Lubbock TX this morning, ice covered trees and snow.
the older i get the more and more i love this type of living , just lack the money lol
Not to far from you guys in our off-grid build and we had -18 yesterday morning. Ouch, hope your doing better. Your son looks like we did after shoveling show!
You can use slow growing trees to put a Solar and wind power turbine just trim the branches so during the winter you have easy power. Also change your water for the house to a tankless heater and that should help during the winter time not to have frozen water in your lines also insulate your lines
You have a beautiful family...stay warm ☃️❄️⛄️
Your ending with your sleepy son "precious ". Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Such a cute ending!!
Good solution!!!
Gabriel is the best - again! The cold time will pass soon. But such situations teach us to appreciate simple everyday things like for example running water.
In Poland we have just had two weeks of cold weather and snow. Warmer times come so it will melt soon. Keep warm😀
Great ending ,enjoy them when there young, they grow so fast
Nice video. Good luck for you all folks.
Love the end!! :)
This is such a beautiful family video. I really enjoyed watching it. I live in London, UK and snow is a stark rarity here. I am hoping to move to the countryside one day soon so I'm always watching Country living videos for tips and information. God bless you all. You are a beautiful family. Your son looked so cute nodding off at the end. I remember those days with my two kids as well.
To much love this family from Kurdistan ❤️
Lesson Learned always prepare Your Coffee the night before so all you have to do is heat it up in the morning
Great tip!
@@LoftisPartyofSix I learned it from a budy of mine who has to have his coffee to function in the morning and That was before he bought a power strip that you wrap around the pipe To keep it warmed up. as I don't even drink coffee. But we live off Grid each of us on on our own 40 acres .
Love this!
Love the radio channel!
Put a 60w or so light bulb around that T, it will be warm enough to keep it from freezing. Just turn it on at night or have it on a timer.
I love your music in the car when driving to town. You guys are great.
You need some Petromax lantern or some kind like petroleum heater to keep your basement warm during winter, it will be much more cheaper than heating from electric.
I love your antique stove
I was worried about this exact problem when you were building your cabin. Glad you finally got it all thawed out.
Loved the ending -
The absolute perfect ending :-)
the end is really great ;) - fighting the sleep ;)
18:32 pls 😂
What a beautiful video, never lose this one.
Thanks Hoss!
Heater Tape on your pipes. At the Scout Camp, we put an insulated box with a light bulb to keep the cold away from freezing the water pipe
What a great video! Love the ending 😴
I suggest you buy some heat-tape for the pipes just in case it gets really cold. The downside will be that it does require electric, but they don't pull that much power. I'd take the tube back, unless there was a disclaimer about cold weather.
I take Roy suggest heat -tape like for rv do on water hose and get foam pipe insulation (I know hard crawling ) next drill a hole for Romex wire and install out door box and cover for heat tape. add insulation to the door for under the house to try to keep cold out. in your power shed add switch for that receptacle . all you have to do turn switch on . Use any thing make heat and low watts lightbulb.
halogen lightbulb 25 to 50 watts would do halogen put out a lot heat
This is such a beautiful video
Sorry to hear about no water! Snowed in! We are here in East Texas we got 12” and it’s snowing today all day. We aren’t used to getting this much snow.
It’s beautiful and looks like sugar. Stay warm and enjoy your day with the kids.
Do they sell snow shovels in Texas? A friend in Fort Worth told me he didn't own one.
My grandmother had the freezing issues living in a 4 season cabin for 6 years and for her the fix was insulation I see on ur pipes there all just bare if u add a layer maybe 2 of insulation which for us all we needed was pool noodles and it was enough to keep water in frozen and were up in Ontario we have -30 winters and it worked
I envy what you have . Nice place and awesome family 👍
Thanks
Best ending :)
OMG 😲, I love all of your vlogs! This one is one of the best!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you 😊
GOD BLESS YAUL...
I had some heat tape on a water pipe in my attic once. It caught the insulation on fire. Luckily, I pulled all the glowing insulation out after 2 gallons of water. If you put a couple Edison lamp sockets down there and put a couple 100w incandescent lamps in them, your water probably not freeze. Best wishes, Kevin
