As back for Nintendo consoles a top ten best RPG list hardly could be done for Wii or Wii U. Today a top ten list hardly can be done due to the amount of so many fantastic RPGs for 3DS and Switch, so many that I can't keep up with playing all these. I really love this direction. And it's great to see that you could make a top ten list of all the RPGs.

Nishini, Shuntaro Tanaka etc.) and Rieko Kodama died in 2022. Only Tetsuya Otsubo (Skies of Arcadia, Sakura Wars, Hatsune Miku) left. Sega did not even mentioned about 15th Anniversary of Valkyria Chronicles, but Famitsu yes. Instead of that they celebrated 10th Anniversary of mobile game - Puyo Puyo Quest. Even mainline Hatsune Miku is dead, because of mobile game. This says everything. Now Valkyria Chronicles fate (and other Sega classic RPG series) depends on Team Sonic, but they like always milking only Sonic.

So what are your thoughts on Japanese dubs as a whole? I always use it where possible as I find it the most authentic to the creators vision. I'm not saying there aren't good English dubs, it's just a preference.
Its honnestly a must if you can understand a conversation or the flow. Dubs really step on it in Neptunia games for exemple, making cringy one liner or meta comment in the subs meanwhile they were having a normal conversation in japanese.
Not a new system, but Tales of Berseria is also on the PS3 in the West, I believe. I'm pretty sure I've seen used NTSC versions in game stores around here.
The ps3 version of berseria is a Japanese exclusive if I remember correctly 😂 I actually picked it up on playasia just to play the game ❤ sadly I don’t understand much Japanese however this gives me a reason to learn🙃
I didn’t know you were so based with being against censorship and forced politicization of video games. Thanks for including Unicorn Overlord. I got it for my birthday this year and I’ve been playing through it. I had a feeling Xenoblade Chronicles 3 would make it high on the list.
Nice video. Got to play a few of them like granblue which I have been dying to play. Lol. I will say though that the first Xenoblade is the best in my opinion. Xenoblade 3 has the best battle system though. Like you said very addictive. Story in 3 wasn’t great to me. The dlc story in 3 was so awesome though. Better then the entire main game of part 3 in my opinion.
It’s been a couple of years since I played 13 Sentinels, but the political themes were pretty subtle from what I recall. Curious to understand what’s problematic with the localization as everything seemed so bland in that aspect
I agree. Besides story, fire engage’s gameplay and everything else is way better then 3 houses. I hated the story in 3 houses. Gameplay with the garrison stuff sucked. Gameplay for the most part in 3 houses sucked in general. Glad they got rid of it in engage.

Nice video great games, how so ever SMT5 might be challenging but you do get the means to defeat any foe. Octopath Traveler grindy yea every jrpg is how so ever when you grind your 1st 4 characters to level 50-55 after you beat the story with all four switch out 1 character for a next & fight a tough battle & tht character level sky rockets plus you get access... with +600 etc HP so you don't have to grind as much again.
Its interesting how many of these I have or plan to get soon, though a few of the ones I own I haven't played yet. Most of the ones on my don't own or plan to get soon list are Action RPGs which has always been my least favorite of the three types.
I already have a backlog of games to play so I'm only buying ones that are on sale on Steam or switch. Bought the Alliance alive on steam for 10$ that's a pretty good deal. There's plenty of other Jrpgs that I recommend you hunt for. (Just don't get distracted by all the sexual ones lol steam.)

Tales of Arise continues to be an amazing game but by god the draw distances are bad, not even with a 4070ti the games loads enemies at a decent distance

Eiyuden Chronicles was devastated by 505s horrible localisation, the backers did not obtained all the promised goodies, and what we got were not timed either, first adopters had to play the game bugged, impossible to get the true ending since a recruitable character had an incorrect coded flag, really bad FPS and loading times. Overall, IF the game had worked, it was a 10/10 for me. But considering everything, even the lame and lazy lcalization, I say it goes as low as a 3/10 due bad customer experience, bad expectations, bad execution and bad localisation.
Seems a bit like you're trying a bit too hard to stand out from the crowd. Some of these super niche games being ranked over some of the greatest JRPGs ever made just because they are popular or because you want to complain about 'censorship' or 'politicized localization' is a bit goofy imo lol
A lot of these games are also on Xbox...(Octopath Travelers 1&2, Like A Dragon & Infinite Wealth, Star Ocean The Divine Force, Eiyuden Chronicles, Tales of Arise, DragonQuest XI, NieR Automata, SMT V Vengeance, Persona 5, Code Vein)... But I guess you choose to ignore the value in Xbox and run with the same old narratives...

Sony really shot themselves in the foot by focusing on "cinematic" games with photo-realistic graphics that take literally half a decade to make.
Love Triangle Strategy, but I would put Fire Emblem Three Houses over it; it’s in my Top 10 VideoGames of All Time.

FE: engage has the best gameplay in the series, a variety of classes, skills, emblems with their own abilities... and it’s not even in 10 😢😢
