Awesome...hope to get out there in 2025!
I’ll save a fish for ya!
Not too bad. Glade you got the boat wet! It’s some nice property that is for sure. Last chance hole 😮 I love the names they have.
It’ll be awesome when I get a dock built on it to go stand on
Like your videos especially the ones with the humor and the music but this most recent one on June into July 2024 on the kasilof just Showed how amazing living in Alaska and creating your own life In the vas, beautiful world is special . hope to meet you in town or on the rivers one day . Me and my friends Are Coming back up July 28 Fish on .
It’s great to hear some positive feedback on the way I’m putting these together. They do take quite a bit of time to make so it’s pleasing to know that you’re having a good time watching! Thank you. Seeing you and your friends with full stringers of fish in a few weeks would be great! 😊 safe travels coming up!
Thanks!
Awesome!!!😎 now that’s what I’m talking about! Thanks for helping make this possible.
2:35 luv it. Enthusiasm. Great job. lol lol.
Gotta keep that energy up!
Glad you got out man, been missing your videos 🤘🤘
Thanks, me too! It’s been too long… 😎🐟
13:53 July 3rd dang it I just missed you there. Looks like a good one
We were having a blast! We seen about 10 fish on, mostly old hatchery kings though
Hi, just curious, why do you usr a flyrod instead of a spinning rod? Do the kings bite the fly or is it flossing like for sockeye? Thanks
A little of both actually. Because sockeye are running now I like to give myself a chance at getting a hook up. The kings will go after beads, lures, spin n glos and other types of gear. Flipping for sockeye and catching a king is my method because of the increased action and I entirely prefer fighting a fish on a fly rod.
Hey Ryan. I was trying to find out what rods you use by going back through videos-I know you mentioned it and had broke one either last year or year before. Are they Shakespeare ugly stick or the kenai red rods from trustworthy
The Shakespeare Uglystik big water. 8/9wt
I can't wait to move to Alaska
It's a beautiful place, still wild, tough and full of adventure. Im not leaving!
@alaskasmallcraftadventures maybe after I move there you could show me and buddy some great places to fish
Oh you bet! I’d enjoy that
sick video bro!!
I appreciate that! 😎💣
How is the Salmon looking in Sterling coming up the river , how are the numbers # , be there next week on July 18th.
Both the kasilof and the kenai are FULL! Tons of fish in the river right now. The runs seem early this year.
@@alaskasmallcraftadventures Thanks Ryan,
Ryan, I am coming to Soldotna the week of Sept 8-15, I wanted to ask two questions: are you up for a walking guide trip and how is the cabin is it ready to rent? Thank you Mike Adams
I’d be happy to point you in the right direction but I am not a licensed fishing guide. You’ll be here during peak silver salmon fishing so expect that. The sockeye will be in the river still but will most likely be starting to get dark as they prep for spawning. The cabin will continue to be under construction this season so I won’t be ready for you. Hopefully soon though I’ll be able to safely accommodate guests and offer an amazing experience. Thank you for checking, I appreciate it! Let me know when you get in and we can talk more about fishing!
@@alaskasmallcraftadventures Hi
First
Indeed!
Thanks, LOL
Hey! Heading that way early august. Wanted to see if you would be open to a walking guide? Hit me up if so. Thanks!
Oh cool! 😎 I’m not licensed with the ADFG to guide but hit me up when you’re in town and we’ll see where the fish are then!
Could you please go over again the difference between a hatchery king salmon, and a wild king salmon….😊
Good question. There is a little fin on the back of a salmon ahead of the tail they call the adipose fin. A hatchery fish will have the adipose fin clipped off to identify a hatchery fish.
I really didn’t mean to say it like ten times but just trying to drive that home!
@@stevet8121 that’s a lot of fins they gotta be clipping😆
@@alaskasmallcraftadventures we’re coming to Alaska in 2025. We hope to get to hang out and throw a pole in or two my husband and I love watching your videos. See you in a year.
Hatchery fish were born inside the hatchery and have a clipped adipose fin while the Wild fish were naturally born in the river and they are identified as a wild if they have a adipose fin that isnt missing
Aren't those weighted flies?
They are... Don't use weight below your hook tip or you'll end up paying for it but these wet flies are legal in these parts. I wouldn't say they're the best though. I have the most luck using #4 octopus J hooks w/ bead or yarn. They get a better drift and don't stick the bottom as often.
I contacted fish and game before I tied those to make sure they were legal. We use them for steelhead in Erie, Pa Also guys in Washington use them a lot for coho, especially the “jigs”. The flow of the kenai is a lot faster than the Kasilof ??? Also correct my memory, the bottom isn’t as muddy , more rock/stone?
What's your rate to rent your cabin?
Yes ryan do you have a sight for rental??
I’m not set up for guests yet. I’m working on welding up some aluminum landings and a floating dock before I consider guests. The property is just too steep for safety right now.
@@alaskasmallcraftadventures I understand that. Someone falls and they’ll be trying to own the place. Maybe next year you’ll be ready. I wanna stay at least two weeks. One week isn’t long enough. T-21 days
