My guess as to how this happened? A disgruntled spouse or significant other taking revenge. They just didn’t realize they came short of destroying the whole computer.
If Luke was one of those third party repair shops without being Apple Certified I would still pay him to repair on of my devices even if it would void my warranty
That poor MacBook Pro oh my goodness that broke my heart this video will definitely get over a million views watching the whole repair process was so cool
That they went in and removed the battery before sawing it indicates it was probably an institution (school, government, hospital etc.) that wanted to dispose of them and not resell them. They were not smart enough however to destroy the SSD which is really the only thing that needs to be destroyed to prevent data recovery.
@@Black-Circle Some places are not allowed to resell computers due to grant rules etc.. My guess is that this was the case, they removed the battery to avoid an explosion and tried to destroy the computer by sawing before sending it to a recycler. I suspect this was recovered from a recycler and then sold.
@@Black-Circle I agree. Having worked in bureaucracies this is fairly common. Sometimes the procedures required to resell computers and other stuff is just too onerous to partake in.
