@@stayso4py951 there's a mission, where you play as hudson, along with woods, you get intel from noriega (bad guy) that menendez (main bad guy) is captured and ready to be executed. Hudson (you) and woods go to a rooftop with noriega, aim a sniper, shoot the person who is being held by the guards. Turns out, after you shoot him, you run up to him and pull the mask off, you see that it's mason. If you shot him in the leg, mason will appear in the epilogue cutscenes, if you shoot him in the head, then no, he will not appear.
“Martyr me for Cordis Die” sticks with me to this day.

Maybe David or section got brainwashed like his old man. To sleeper agent kill a specific target. And Menendez read up about Alex Mason and how he was brainwashed and uses it against David and thus he made his trump card drawn and somewhat won. It wasn’t a total victory like he wanted. But still. His followers will create chaos and he doesn’t have to suffer the consequences after.
Fun fact:when Woods saw Mason,Woods pushed him so he can see if he isn't or is having the same illusion like Mason.

The best ending, but with Alex Mason's death is the perfect ending for me.
You can feel that sad emotion in the end after all that you've done in the game and also, a real main protagonist death is more ironic and better for the story on every video game or movie than a back to life edition.
At least he shouldn't have been shot in the head. He could have died heroically.

Well there is a glitch where Harper and Farid can both live but I forgot how so Chloe can survive Salazar's betrayal and Harper can kill Salazar

The ending I first got was alternate ending but what happened was Harper-dead defalco-died at colossus farid-dead Salazar-alive karma-alive menendez-dead mason-dead
The first ending I got was Harper alive, Karma dead, DeFalco dead, Farid dead, Salazar dead, Menendez dead, Mason dead and Woods alive. But after a while I noticed you had to do the strike force missions in order to get Harper dead, Karma alive, DeFalco dead, Salazar alive, Menendez alive, Mason alive and Woods alive to get the ending I wanted.

It is canon after menendez’s first escape attempt was ruined by Karma years later he tries to escape in a soldiers uniform and his plan is seen through by soldiers who kill him on sight
There's only one ending for me. The true ending. Karma Lives, Mason lives, and Menendez lives. He wanted to be Martyred. I denied him the satisfaction.
To get the best ending though, you have to let DeFalco live and take Karma. Rescue Karma in the special ops. Kill Harper as Farid. Farid will protect Karma during Salzar's betrayal. Let Admiral live, and complete ALL special ops. Things will work out and the world will be saved. Just make sure you don't kill Menedez, no matter HOW badly you want it.
You can kill Defalco. As long as Farid is on the ship, Karma will live.
Or you can just kill defalco and harper. Same thing will happen
@@chrissant6277 This is mostly a 100% good ending, where everything works out and you've secured a bright future. Menendez is ruined, Karma lives, China and America join forces, the aircraft carrier is secured thanks to both the Admiral and China's drones, saving Karma in the process again.
Oh and if you want all the camos, this is how you do it.
Treyarch said in their official timeline video that Menendez is killed. In BO3 the world is fucking torn apart, so Karma probably dies too (not 100% sure, but this can be a cause). If you gather all the intels in BO2 Woods won't trust Hudson and so you'll save A. Mason. So the only things that are 100% canon are Menendez death and Mason is alive, Karma's death is most likely canon.
Btw you can kill DeFalco in the mission, you will save Karma and everything's good, the side mission you get by not killing DeFalco has no other uses. The rest is correct
As far as I’m concerned, this is where the “Black Ops” timeline ends
They just came out and said that the canon ending is that Mason died in 1989 and Menendez dies in 2025

@matthewwellington2637 yeah, but honestly the way the OG characters are written makes them seem so off. I liked Cold War's campaign a lot but I really don't consider it canon
I would've loved it if Black Ops 3 was either set in the near future after the events of BO2, or if you played as David's son and the game actually referenced the storylines and characters of the previous games, instead of the fucking mess we got that totally ignored BO1 and 2.
I've seen all the endings but now I'm finding out there's an alternative ending after all these years
i still to this day dont know why there hasnt been a black ops with its campaign focused on mason again since he was still alive after 30 years, he obviously had to of had a crazy ass story since he never made contact once in those 30 years, WE NEED TO SEE IT please Treyarch give us another black ops with mason like bo1

Guys so next years CoD is going to be set in the gulf war and the year after that we’re getting a sequel to BO2 that is taking place 5 years after the events of 2025 (You killing Mennedez is the canon ending.). So we may get a David Mason origin story in the Gulf War campaign and the next chapter to David and Harpers story.

To be honest, Most player would definitely kileld Menendez despite that what he wants. Me though i got the neutral ending, Harper survives, Cloe survives, Mason survives, Woods didn't, Menendez fcking kills himself.

After getting all the endings, I prefer the ending where men alive karma alive mason dead, I consider it the most realistic ending for this game, and also emotional.

I saved Harper(By killing Farid), Alex Mason(Shot in leg) and Woods(Killed Menendez).
I was unable to save Karma(Chloe).
You must kill Harper to save Karma.

if u want to save karma, then u have to shoot harper, you need farid alive so farid take the bullet to save karma
You can’t save Karma if you also save Harper. Karma only survives the battle on the ship if Farid is there to protect her from dying. You have to save Farid and Briggs, as well as completing all Strikeforce missions, in order for Karma to live through the end of the game.

@@remorseyt_ I think Harper is most likely canonically alive because if the ending with Menendez being killed is canon then there is no point in Karma surviving.
I got the "bad ending" when I played for the first time and I'm not sure if I would call that the "worst" ending, it's the worst when it comes to outcome, but it seems like what would actually happen.

As much as I hate it and hate Mendez killing woods I also love it at the same time just the interaction between woods and him. However since woods dies its not the cannon ending otherwise that ending is painful and beautiful
The "Bad ending" is for me, the canon ending. Most people like the "happy" ending it seems but for me, the "Bad" end is the most fitting with the dark themes of the Black Ops universe. All the characters were bastards, they all did bad things, and they all end up killing each other. Plus Menendez is such an awesome villian, I love the idea of him basically getting his revenge and peacing out. A wonderfully dark way of closing out the Waw/BlOps storyline.

@@monkeboy121 Black Ops 3 from what I remember doesn’t even follow the same storyline so it doesn’t really make a difference. They may as well all be canon because the story is over regardless. The Mendendez kills everyone ending is still my favorite though.

I like how Menendez still showed Woods some level of respect for him despite their mutual hatred for each other. He was a villain for sure, but he still had a moral standard for himself. Best cod villain hands down

As Farid, when given the choice to kill harper or Menendez, you try to kill Menendez but he counters it and kills Farid but Harper lives
I could just imagine how awesome a remaster would look, especially if in realistic they took off the slow timing to shoot enemies in slow motion and instead you have to do it fast and with skill. That'll be awesome. They just need to add alot more enemies and blood and gore graphics. The story line was great. I honestly think a remaster will surpass battlefield at this point and I'm a die hard battlefield fan

Real canon ending: Avenged Sevenfold plays Carry On with Woods as the drummer and Menendez as the 2nd guitarist.
I think the bad ending has the more sense with the themes of the story, that of course if you kill Mason because then it goes from happy reunion to sad death with no connection between. I get weird

yea, I played early cod games and MW 1 and 2, but none of them were anywhere near as engaging as OP 1 and 2
I think silent protags thing played a major role in that, as the one you're playing as has no personality and therefore can't really be related to in any way
