- READ THIS FUCKING DESCRIPTION BEFORE YOU ASK WHICH SONGS ARE ARE IN THE CLIP. I'M TIRED OF ANSWER A FUCKING QUESTION THAT IS ALREADY IN THE FUCKING DESCRIPTION.
Interview with Dave in 1996 with some performance clips included. Not sure where this came from - just found and am spreading the Foo love...
So you can stop asking over and over, the first song is Wattershed and the second is For All The Cows. Buy the first Foo album. It's great.
This is my favorite look of his. He's totally adorable.
His old self from Nirvana
Dave is fucking adorable.
Damn, the feels when he starts talking about Nirvana...
great how practical Dave is. "Nirvana was just a band....having a good time on stage." He's cool he doesn't blow shit out of proportion.
He's a fantastic musician, he's hot, he's just...awesome. I LOVE DAVE GROHL!!
I love him too
@mgnewageD479 Chris Cornell used to sing and play drums. Layne Staley also used to play the drums. Dave Grohl is definitely talented. Kurt Kobain is definitely talented. When it comes to who is more talented, who the fuck cares. They're all great.
Even though Dave was losing his voice, it sounded awesome when he was screaming.
all hail Foo's and Bowie (even if it was short) in 1 video.
Kurt's stuff was waay more unique though. He could really blow your mind and stuff he wrote was just EPIC. Dave is just more versatile when it comes to technical aspects of playing.
i love how pat has to laugh when dave is screaming his soul out :D
I didn,t know that foo fighters used to be so good !!!Now its a little dissapointing to me ...not alternative rock but old fashioned rock .....but he is still Dave from Nirvana .....so respect
He said in another interview that he still feel really bad about losing one of his best friends.
Dave is a living Rock Legend
how did people not recognize for all the cows? I seriously am 18 just became a fan of theirs like a month ago, but am absolutely in love with them, they rock, but seriously even I recognized For All The Cows
Love Dave but heavy metal music is so not my thing, I cant stand it but I respect people that do like as they probably hate melodic music. Many perpectives in this life which make it a delight.
Heavy metal is awful evil
Click SHOW MORE above, folks! The songs are in the description!
HE-HE WAS WEARING A VOLUME 4 SWEATSHIRT OH-OH MY GOD. DAVE MY QUEEN I LOVE YOU.
yeah, their first album was great, the second was ok...but then...
Dave did a good job breaking his voice in, all that pressure to tour city after city, the Foo's were still new...
I love him!!
did dave grohl get cheek implants or something because from 1996 to 2001 he looked totally different.
No I think he just gained a little weight. haha
FooFightersFan1227 Or grew a beard.
He got older and grew a beard.
You're very observant, I'm just now seeing this. Not to mention different personalities and voices. Check out his palette/teeth in various videos and photos from Nirvana- 2001, not to mention a completely different looking guy from 2003- present, and you'll clearly see there are at least 2-3 "Dave's"
Yeah 90s Dave was better and cuter than now
@webmaster8040
Actually I think Lady Gaga has a great talent. She just doesn't use it as you wish, but she's much more talented than most of the artists out there. At least she can play, she can sing and she can write songs.
Ono Yoko is another good artists, more conceptual, visual.
Courtney Love can't do much, but Kurt loved her and it's not true, as someone wrote, that he hated her or wanted to leave her.
Haha David Bowie's face was priceless
The first Foo album, which came out when i was thirteen or so, is totally fucking rad. Certainly not the band we know today.
Dude, I would've killed to see him play Watershed back in the day.
2:16 - 2:18 - Ozzy Osbourne?
yeah i feel Dave wont make it bigger than Kurt.... Dave is good, but his best days were with Nirvana.
also! Dont forget Jimi Hendrix man!
That's very right
Dave Grohl...freakin genius
@daniglue also let me add this: GOOD BANDS STILL EXIST. There are still people out there with talent making new music. for instance the brilliant man in the above video just released a new album with his band Foo Fighters. and i personaly am awaiting the new Wilco album with much eagerness. (if youve never heard of Wilco you should check it out. there awesome)
what songs are in this video?
"Wattershed" is the first one and "For All the Cows" is the second one. They were both on their first album self-titled "Foo Fighters" (Which Grohl pretty much recorded himself)
He returned to the Foos in 2006 during their acoustic shows and has stayed ever since as a 3rd guitarist - he's part of their extended lineup. And good ol Pat just turned 50, so happy birthday to Pat!
Great vid. foos are the best. stay strong bro. Keep fighting foo!!
waw, what a kick ass performance!! Foo Fighters are great!
someone needs to put up that whole concert.
This guy was really hard core on the drums. He even sang at most parts of the music.
this foo fighters I like!!!!!!!Nothing like the soft music they make now!!!!
@CovertCrisis
You forgot to mention Kurt also played drums sometimes...;)
With every passing generation, we lose more and more good music. We still gain some, but we lose so much.
First song: Wattershed
Second song: For All The Cows
Both songs are on their debut album and kick ass.
that show looked bad ass. Thanks for putting this up.
@daniglue we agree on some points and disagree on others and im willing to accept that.
you think music is getting better i think it peaked a long time ago.
im just some guy from the internet im not going to change any of your strong opinions and you're not going to change mine
thanks for a good debate and a good conversation
PS i bet if theres any kind of after life (im not gonna start a religion argument) kurts looking at us all loling his head off about the big stink were making.
@daniglue more choice isnt nessisarily better the way i see it theres a lot of stuff out there but a lot of it isnt worth the plastic the CDs are printed on. lady gaga is a good example and my opinion on her suckishness will not be changed but your opinion that shes ok wont be changed either so im just gonna stop arguing about her
see thats the point i was trying to get across we still have Led Zeppelin the Doors and Pink Floyd. there just not new.
@Ali1SABOTAGE1Sobh you didnt prove a thing to me except that you dont know what your talking about... Dave wouldnt have gotten anywhere where he is today without Kurt, or Krist. Dave is a well rounded musician but he isnt better than Kurt... keep in mind Kurt played drums before guitar hahah.
...sorry
@mgnewageD479
i dont think you understand what makes alternative... Alternative is a bunch of types of music thrown into one, AND Grunge is most 100% apart of it. you can have a Grungier style alternative band, to somethin like a more positive style alternative band. WORD.
@Ali1SABOTAGE1Sobh
i just did by saying the only reason why he can be considered as better than Kurt, is because Kurt is DEAD. if Kurt were still alive it wouldnt even be discussed, Kurt would have ended Nirvana and made a nother great band, better than Nirvana, better than Foo Fighters, etc.
Not a fan at all. Nirvana and SDRE fan. I guess im turned off to Foo Fighters because they seemed to assemble because the true stars went their own ways. But im still a fan of everyone of these musicians seperately for what they've done. Just can't get into Foo for some reason.
@daniglue but i do agree with you on a few points. Lennon loved Ono. and personaly im glad she made him happy. i also think its a terribal thing to wish Ono love or gaga were dead. love is a jerk and gaga has no talent but they shouldnt die.
i havent heard you say one thing now that is worth responding to or even worth wasting my time with someone who thinks the FF's are a great band. that right there says it all... MY MOMS THINKS THE FF's are a good band an she listens to Taylor Swift.
okay i love kurt cobain but dave is definatly the most talented out of nirvana...i mean he is better than kurt at guitar he can play drums and he can sing...but kurt is a wayyyyyyyy!!!! better singer and i like nirvana way more than foo fighters
i really love the first song!!!
you're kidding right?? dave a much better songwriter than drummer?? and taylor better than dave at drumming? You got it all backwards man. dave's drumming >>>>>>>> his songwriting, and he basically schooled taylor in drumming.
@Ali1SABOTAGE1Sobh
Foo Fighters are nothing compared to Nirvana my friend. I didnt say Dave wouldnt be a great musician, but he wont be better than Kurt or even compared to Kurt... sorry.
@Ali1SABOTAGE1Sobh
thats really great, the only reason why dave can maybe be considered better is because of Kurt being DEAD. if Kurt were still alive, this wouldnt even be discussed.
This band has evolved quite a bit but theyre still my favorite...now theyre on a well deserved Hiatus though :(...Ive seen them like everytime theyve ever played in my area. Even saw them on there first tour, met the whole band including Dave and Pat and even got to stand on the side of the stage while they played once so Im very grateful for all that.
yup. but they kinda were also just tired of the term "grunge" because everyone was hopping on the Nirvana bandwagon at that point once they had heard Teen Spirit.
@mgnewageD479
KURT IS THE GODFATHER OF ALTERNATIVE ROCK. IF YOU DONT THINK ALTERNATIVE MUSIC ISNT GRUNGE THEN YOU MIGHT WANNA LOOK UP ON THAT A COUPLE TIMES.
sooo dave enjoyed metal! I wonder how would sound if you mix grunge with metal?
Like I prefer grunge punk or alternative rock over metal but what if you sunddendly mix them?
I feel like that's what alice in chains basically was
Yes, Pat Smear played with Nirvana as a second guitarist on the In Utero tour and played on the MTV Unplugged special too. Dave recruited him into Foo Fighters. Pat left the Foo in Sept 1997. He's been back touring with this the past few years as a third guitarist (their extended lineup).
I could be wrong but i think thats the original drummer and bassist from Sunny Day Real Estate in that first live clip. Not to metion Pat from the Germs.
the crowd is like,"THIS ISNT NIRVANA, WHAT IS THIS?"
All I'm saying is thank fuck for Taylor, that other guy was terrible...
hey..what's that song they're playing in the gig? never heard of that foo song..is that weenie beenie? pls tell me man..its cool
moby playing smells like teen spirit in 96? Too soon...
First song was Wattershed and second song was For All The Cows, both from the first album.
I love his voice XD
He's back playing with them as a 3rd guitarist... been playing with them since 2006 (their acoustic tour). I just watched them play at the White House tonight for a USO show and Pat was right there with them!
Dave: a great man like Krist and Kurt!
I take it you're not a Foo Fighter fan or you would know definitively. Yes, the original line-up of Foo Fighters contained William Goldsmith on drums and Nate Mendel on bass (both from Sunny Day Real Estate) as well as Pat Smear of the Germs on guitar. Of course Pat also toured with Nirvana on their In Utero tour. Nate of course is still in the band.
First song was "Wattershed" and second song was "For All the Cows", both from the first album.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foo_Fighters_(album)#
4:25 Moby
i never heard him sing like that he must of ran outta kurts lyrics an rifs prolly why he is makin softer music
Which song? There are two. The first is Wattershed and the second is For All The Cows.
i respect your opinion, but kurts songs on nevermind are untouchable,,,,dave would be the 1st to admit.
I think it was at the Torhout-Werchter festival in Belgium. Could be Pukkelpop as well, i'm not sure
haha Dave was on X-files nirvana is cooler just my opinion i like foo fighters too but just nirvana is a little better
@corebare haha that would imply that Layne and Lady Gaga had a 'thing' goin...I agree tho it sucks
Wattershed - kick ass song off of their first album.
umm ya, cann somebody tell me where the gig was?? i mean how the concert was called??
@webmaster8040
So what? "the music now is only Lady Gaga. Grunge, punk, rock is dead-oh my god we'll die soon?"
this is going no where, we both disagree... we arent going to find a resolution.
@Ali1SABOTAGE1Sobh its ok man I read the description XD but tnx anyways :D
huh i didnt know the mexican was in the foo fighters as well
huuuuuuuh
@daniglue the irony here is that lady gaga "music" is trivial and cheap.
there are some really good people around now mate, you heard of brad cox?
uhmm i didn´t like it now lets see how many thumbs down im gonna get...
Wasn't he like back with The Germs for a while w/o darby or somethign?
Cobain never would have fit in the Fighters, as much as I like him.
What do you mean? How did Dave's sound get "fucked up"?
@corebare
Looks to me there is a lot of space for potential.
The Melvins make the FF's look like little school girls hahah.
what song is the first song- ha ha jk... please don't rape me
isnt the guitarist the one who played with nirvana some time?
darkest hour is a bad ass metal band! Metal is not done!
@mgnewageD479
look up opinion in the dictionary:P
Dave seemed to have trouble talking about nirvana....
read discription.. lol its called "for all the cows"
for me dave grohl is much better playing drums ....
@189Maria me nether. i like there old songs alot better!
what songs were they playing here?
I just wish I knew which fucking songs theyre playing
+David Brink 1. Watershed
2. For all the Cows
holy fuck its pat smear!
nah he isnt anymore
