I feel like a lot of us are told we're inspiring "for being trans". People are often quick to say we're inspiring for being brave enough to go through surgery, to be our true selves, to keep fighting despite societies bullshit. While its true that we do have to struggle with a lot, and being able to face it all and keep fighting is incredible, I always feel like there's so much more to individual people than their trans back story (similarly with sexuality, struggling with a disability, mental illness... etc). The majority of things people pick out as "being brave" or "inspiring" to me, are often the things that I feel are the least (in terms of what I and others have done / faced / accomplished), or just 'things' I did. My surgery, for example, I never felt brave or inspiring *for having surgery*, but for sharing my story and helping others like me to find the path with much more ease. Helping people to not feel alone, to question what they know and to learn to respect and love diverse and different people. I guess where I'm trying to go with this, despite our gender identities being (similar but) different, your vlogs, posts and updates have helped me and raised my spirits in so many ways. I've weaved in and out of watching your videos for the past few years and they are filled with positivity and packed with information; they've definitely helped to guide me in my journey. It isn't your transition that's inspired me, *but your words*. Seeing how you've become so confident, positive and strong over time-- obviously transitioning helped to boost that, but from what you've shared online I can see you've overcome many more obstacles than just your transition, and I appreciate that you choose to speak about those many other aspects of life. You're incredibly inspiring to me as a person, your videos make me smile, and I'm super happy to see things are going well for you.
Wow! What a wonderful comment! I completely agree with you ,transitioning, having surgery , these things were not brave they were necessary, whats brave about what we do isnt what we do but the way we handle it and the way we use it to help ourselves and others. Your incredibly kind words mean the world to me, to know that you see this in me makes me a very very happy man. Blessing my friend, thank you.
ok, this made me tear up. It’s so amazing to see that clip from mere hours on testosterone to now. What a journey you’ve been on, and it continues. This is so beautiful.
I've been following with you for 3.5 years and in June of this year I will be 3 years T myself! Thank you so much for making these videos and keeping them up.
Thank you so much for your kind appreciation and for following alog on this epic journey. Congrats on 3 years!!!!!! Ill always keep these up, as cringy as these are, I love looking back and seeing how far Ive come! Much love to you my friend!
3 years! Wow. I'm at 9 months and that has flown by. I'm excited to see my 3 years. You look amazing, you sound amazing. Thanks for taking us on this journey with you, my friend!
I just wanted to thank you so much for being such an inspiration to not only myself but everyone else you've touched through your videos. it's been so helpful for me when you've talked so openly about your mental health struggles as well as always reminding me to not loose track of myself as I begin my transition. I truly hope that you get all your wishes as you really do deserve them. once again, many thanks x
So happy for your psychological, and physical transition. I just love your personality. Thank you for the laugh today. Your adorable "LOOK" after showing your "willy" was priceless!
I just found your videos and had to tell my son who is also named Finn about being Infinnsible. He got a huge kick out of that. Thanks for sharing your story so candidly. You are so right in saying that everyone is recovering from something.
Your bravery and journey is amazing! I so so so hope youths will be inspired by people who don't let anything stop them from being who they are! People like you!
Great vid as usual. You should really consider writing a book or something. Your life sounds like it has been turbulent, but you've overcome so much with such grace.
Thank you so much, so many people have said this to me and i would love to. I have started many times to write things down but as yet have nothing complete!!!
Congrats Finn!! I'm also 3 years on T this Halloween! My Stache is still also struggling. Though, when I trim my beard, I won't touch my mustache so it looks fuller. I have loved watching you through all this, and also transitioning with you coincidentally as well! Cheers!
Thanks my friend! I also dont touch the tash...however I had a mishap with the trimmer recently and took it all down quite short! Happy almost birthday to you and thank you so much for your incredibly kind comments!
Oh Finn, you cheeky thing! Loved the "banana"! LOL! I always love your updates, and I like that you emphasized that you are so much more than just trans (although that is a big part of you.) Here's to many years of personal exploration!
Congrats my man! 'Off the scale male'! 💪🏼💥😎 I'm still doing a little hair dance on every full moon, to encourage my own 'valance' sheet. *howls, beats chest, returns to work
+FinnTheInfinncible Haha! WELL...weirdly, I actually said the other day that I might upload a little video on Instagram of me doing a little dance!! So I must be getting closer to taking some selfys! Are you going to TransPride?
It's great to see how you've changed over the years. You seem such a different man, a better one (not that you were a bad man three years ago). You seem much older and wiser now. To the next three years, eh?
I am a better man! I was never "bad" I just wasnt being all I could be through fear and pain holding me back. Thanks my friend and yes indeed to the next 3 years!
Finn, what a wonderful and completely successful journey for you. I have a good friend whose adopted child is a teen in the trans female process. My friend, his wife and their family, especially Kit, have been courageous. It hasn't been easy for Kit, but her teachers and her schoolmates have been wonderfully supportive. Some producers are in the process of finishing a documentary about trans teens in Rhode Island (US), including Kit; when it's out I'll let you know. In fact I'lll check now on how close they are to finishing. Finn, I thought your lower surgery was complete. In general, what does the final stage include? Is it the testicular prosthesis?
Hi Greg. It is good to hear that Kit has had good support, it isnt eary but having good support makes it that much easier. I will be very interested to see the documentary. Lower surgery here is done in three stages, the final, which I am due to have soon, is the erectile device. This is an inflatable rod that is inserted into the penis operated by a pump which serves as the second testicular implant. I will have a small reservoir in my lower abdomen containing saline solution and when I operate the pump in my testicle , saline will fill the inflatable rod allowing me to get an erection and be able to have penetrative sex. Exciting times! Then I will be all done.....fully functioning and off and running! Well.....probably hobbling for a while!
FinnTheInfinncible I guess it makes sense that they do it in stages, giving everything time to heal and also time for you to adjust. And it's perfect for you that you are young enough to have decades ahead to live and explore. Everything is falling in place for you. I remember as a kid some time in the 50's hearing the news about Christine Jorgensen, the first widely known trans woman in the states. It seemed unbelievable at the time, but it was a very different world back then. My friend told me that the documentary should be ready some time in the fall. I'll be sure to let you know.
thanks my friend! it's the genius work of mr andrew yelland at the Nuffield hospital in Brighton . I'll do an updated and more in detail post when I hit 3 years post surgery in November but in the meantime there's loads of info on my top surgery playlist here or on my tumblr and yr always welcome to visit the finn Fam page and message me there if I can help
