Dude I miss mine. Thing would pull, I’d say it was a sleeper. Was it terrifying to drive at 120+ mph? You bet. The thing just floated along like a front wheel drive cloud on morphine. The suspension wasn’t performance oriented in the slightest. The transmissions were made of glass so I’ve heard, but there was a dude you could send them to that would upgrade them. Never did, but I thought that was neat. Drove it until about 170k miles before a ball joint just randomly fucking snapped while driving. It was a $2,000 luxurious, quick, turd. And I loved it.
Transmission doesn't handle the torque unfortunately, if you remap these cars be sure to have a few transmissions on your hand, because you're gonna replace them on a regular basis.
I want an S80 t6. Same set up, just lighter. Have an 04 xc90 t6 that weighs almost 4700 lbs and still takes the F off lol. Just added new vacuum hoses, no engine cover, k&n panel filter, 93 octane, and new AT shift knob. Thing is very fun to drive for the hp/tq it puts out. Climbs hills like a champ. Recently tried pennzoil high mileage full syn 5w-30( first time with full syn), she's lovin' it. So smooth/responsive, engine sounds meaner. Bought mine less than 2 years ago and put 23k on it so far. 112k when bought, 135k now. If you put good fuel in, good high heat oil, keep airflow as cool as possible under the hood, even tire psi, you'll get 25-30mpg or over easy on flat(ish) open roads. I wouldn't use cheap gas in these if you drive one. These engines are happy as hell on 91 or higher (in US). Used to have a 00 v40 turbo (4cyl) also. Went 130mph and didnt skip a beat. I love driving any volvo. You know the feeling!
I just drove a neighbor's '04 xc90 t6 that he's selling, well maintained. My '04 Navigator got t-boned and the check would cover the volvo with some change. I miss the power of the 32v 5.4 but that navigator weighted over 6k pounds with 32" mud tires. The Volvo seemed weak when I hit the pedal but I'm still going to buy it for my wife and child. Is there a tune to pep it up a little? Never would have guessed it had turbos driving it but we do love passing out of towners on the regular so If I could open it up for cheap (and also we don't have emissions regulations where I reside so all my cars are catless) that would be awesome!
@@phishphood423 True. But from a mechanical point of view. The cars that are now turning 20 years old should all be able to still run. Because they came from a time when planned obsolescence wasn't quite what it is now.
I have an 05 t6. Just had to get the crappy 4 speed auto rebuilt I still don’t understand why Volvo went that route with the gear box; car could’ve easily gotten a 5 speed or 6 speed auto from any other auto maker
Damn it must have been so cringe sitting there in the middle of nowhere waiting for your buddy to drive by that slow... Even took forever for the car to make it over the horizon 😂
Sounds a little late, wicked motor though the t6,wish we didn’t have to work so hard to make mods work and there were more off the shelf items! Sweet video dude x
get somewhat of a tune on her. Don't pass 5 psi till tune. You just changed all the dynamics of your fuel. KILLING THAT MOTOR WITH WHAT YOUR DOING. I Cry

Thomas S. Where can I get in contact with this transmission upgrade guy?
@@MrGharDK the 4speed auto or manual?
i just avoided a bump on the road at 200 km/h+ then i was sliding on the track for a few seconds then i take control of it with no problems...
@@MrGharDK waste of time. Better off spending the extra $ on a manual. Been known to handle over 800hp untouched

My aunt has an old XC90 with the straight six engine
Still running strong
Sure hope it is still running. That is no age for a car.
@@y4nnickschmitt I mean...nearly 20 years isn't exactly young. Could have 200K+ on it easy.

NICE !!!!
T6 was a beast of a motor. Too bad GM ruined it with their shite gearbox. Loved my XC90 until it got t-boned. Passed anything but a gas station!
It was ford
Saab was gm😂

Any suggestions? Lol
Unpopular opinion: T6 > T5
Lol no
my opinion is T5 > T6 :) but all opinions are great.
Si6 T6 > whiteblock t6
The fact the you don't see t6 anywhere these days proves that t5 is king
@@ItzJigz187 that just makes the T6s more special
260 kmh = 160ish?

What's happening tell me more ???
Wish he brang it too the dyno, they wouldve definitely told him
These ran like 8PSI from the factory...what are you talking about??
I have a S80 T6 2002, are the 260 km/h stock? or have you modified something?
U should be able to reach 260 without mods
the car at 320 must have boost leaks
5:07 was that lifter tick in backround?
What body kit is that at 3:15?
