I've ridden this back to back with a transalp, the 232kg weight disappears as soon as it gets off the side stand. I don't even want to know how much engineering went into making that chassis and suspension feel so cohesive but kudos to suzuki as its one of the most fun big boy adventure bikes

The SloMo wheelie King 👑. Good review. I own a 2023 and it is a lot of fun. My favorite thing about it after years of riding sport bikes and super nakeds is I can ride thru small towns under 45/72 mph/kph standing up. Position changes are the key to comfort if you are over 50.
Guys if you hear a guy screaming his lungs with sheer joy from start to finish without losing the enthusiasm one bit, that's a subtle statement that every motorcyclist will only understand at the visceral level. Suzuki is truly the unsung hero in the Indian motorcycle scene.
I have a Gixxer 155 ; their most sold model India along with Access scooter. I once ran piller to piller to find a replacement fuel tank that rusted inside ( A main issue with gixxer 150s other than very tight gear change). Mind you rust mixed fuel costed other things as well. Same case with other spares of the Gixxer. The most popular showroom couldn't provide it. Had to go third party. So before buying Suzuki make sure about the spare availability and whether the showroom could source it.

Would you consider this as an upgrade over the V-Strom 650 or a spiritual successor to the V-Strom 650 or is it a totally independent bike not burdened by the legend of the V-Strom nameplate? Having ridden both the bikes, the 650 V-twin definitely had more low end grunt and refinement compared to the 800 parallel twin. The V-twin charm cant be replicated by a parallel twin. The 800 being the more modern bike had better calibrated ABS and better feel from the Nissin calipers overs the older Tokico unit of the 650. Also, I felt that the weight distribution has improved on the 800. The 800 does have more suspension travel than the 650 and the Showa forks are in general more sophisticated than the older normal forks on the 650.
Its because they want to still sell some 1050DE which has cruise control, also you can fit veridan cruise control easily and cheap @SagarSheldekarOfficial
As a upgrade from suzuki vstrom 250 what you consider is a better option - 1. Suzuki vstrom 800 de 2. Triumph tiger 850 sports or, 3. Honda transalp 750 ??
Yet again a killer review! I wish the 800 DE had cruise control and tubeless rims! I had fun riding it and you’ll small instantly in love with the way the bike performs and handles! I call it Xpulse 800 😂By the way what riding gears are you using? The jacket especially!
Forever a lover of Suzuki Bikes. Moved from 155 Gixxer to 250 Gixxer. Dream of having GSX 8R someday. But even so that Saree guard in 800DE is horrendous. 😢😢
Reason I havnt consider this - tube wheels - no service near my town(so costly calling service guy every 6 months) - 6 month service interval. Else this is beast
I prefer the engine on the transalp because it is more engaging and how light it is but the vstrom is a much better bike overall in terms of riding dynamics and comfort
