Your story about the banana cover reminds me of what a buddy of mine found in an antique store. The records were valuable original Blue Notes, Prestige, and Riverside, top titles in beautiful condition worth thousands of dollars each. On the price tag, it said '180 gram reissue', and gave a price of $45, $55, $65. It was obvious that the dealer had just searched eBay, pulled up the first record he saw that looked like what he had, and copied down what was in the listing.
Jesus, Mary and Joseph! You just single handedly decimated every VC vinyl finds video for the next 25 years. Congrats doesn't even start to express the joy (or jealousy!) I share with what you have here, Dillion. Elevators, FTB, VU, Ash Ra Tempel, Magma... man! Cheers, Jeff
That peel is on the top of my wantlist. Great score and an even greater bunch of records! Found that Magma in a 5 dollar bin once, what a solid afternoon that was,
I had the most insane haul today probably not to some big collectors but to a young newbie it was the most amazing feeling to bring home a big box full of amazing finds!
Congrats`, what a superhaul. You`re well worth it. Enjoy `em. Ive been listening to satori for 30 years and it is still as good as it was back then. Timeless.
@@noblerecords Some totally killer albums in this video. Had no idea Mighty Baby made a second album... And that Ash Ra album is one I've hunted for cheaply including an extended scouring of Berlin stores, to no avail.
Ash Ra Tempel one I would love to come across in any form. Of course a ‘71 German Ohr press would be killer. Outstanding finds all the way around here man.
Well dang, you have my Grail, 13th Floor Elevators. Really awesome. The album fro. Uruguay sounded interesting. I love picking up stuff from other countries. Really incredible the amount a rare records you have been able to find. Very impressive. Steve
In make-believe land I talked to Dillon and I traded him every record I own and then an additional $2 for the 13th Floor Elevators... and I will be shipping it to you shortly! In reality land... Nope...
Hey Dillon, amazing you found all of those. About 8 years ago, I found a mono pressing of 13th Floor Elevators at a Goodwill. It's not in the best of shape but plays well. Also found Zephyr, If, and some others obviously from the same donation. But the 13th Floor Elevators was a top find for me. I watch your videos all of the time but this is my first time commenting. I really dig your videos. Looking forward to the podcast! ~Nicola
Noble Records I enjoy your channel. Just raw gems and true music appreciation. I commented I can across an original Fraction Moon Blood in a previous video. Just a couple weeks ago. Easily the priciest record I’ve ever found
There was a flea market which was walking distance from my house. It was only open on Sundays. They had many vinyl vendors there. I went every Sunday for 10 years. Then the land was sold and it had to close. On the last day it was open there were 2 vendors and 3 customers (including me). That Stooges album that you showed was the last album I bought at the market.
Amazing records. That Stooges looks like the same press that I have. I bought mine new in the cut out bins in the early 70's. Amon Duul is a band that I really dig. I passed on a banana cover Velvet Underground album in Bakersfield a couple of years ago. I still wish I would have picked it up.
I'm new to your world but as far as I can tell your the leader, your the man! in the VC. Please tell me others that are as VAST and as frequent as you. I like Vinyl Ritchie and Dots & Loops. Anyone else that you recommend?? Thanks from Burbank, CA. NB
Back in the late '80s I found a bootleg of Captain Beefheart and his Majic Band. It was a 2 LP set of British radio performances from 1966 to ' 68. Have you ever heard of it? My copy disappeared and I'd like to replace it. It's an awesome collection of live performances on Britains radio programs like the BBC and Radio One
That Kinks with the swirl PRT label are some of the best sounding Kinks pressings. These were the first and last direct masters to vinyl after PRT bought PYE. There was no remastering. Just avoid the Spanish pressings. UK and Japanese were stereo. And German were mono.
Found an original Satori at my local antique/junk store for,get this,$12.00! Ironically I had just received the reissue I had ordered in the mail a couple weeks prior.Did yours come with the insert?I'm hoping for a copy of T2 to come my way(even a reissue at this point).Great vid as always.
Dude, unbelievable finds. Ive been dying to get an og 13th floor elevators, that one u have looks a EX condition. Those VU and nicos with and without the banana are crispy. Og stooges and flower travelin band!?!? Incredible, id love to get a canadian or japanese press of that. Killin it homeboy -Mickey
I don't know if you've heard of the band Fuzz but if you like blue cheer then you'd probably like them because their sound is inspired by blue cheer. Great haul btw some real good stuff!
wow the vinyl God's have blessed you very well I can't believe someone sold a 1968 velvet underground & nico thinking it was a reissue. thanks for talking about some the psych rock bands/albums I have not heard of before.
A record store in town had an og 13th floor elevators for $1300. A guy bought it and a couple hours later called the store owner asking if he had another. He had dropped it and scratched an entire one side. Obviously he didn't have a second. Sad story.
Hey Dillon, great finds there ! Dias de Blues was a great band, maybe you will like Pappo´s Blues the first album is from 1971, it is almost the same style , Vol. 1, II , 3 & 4 are the best ones, Norberto Pappo Napolitano was really big in Argentina and he was until he died in 2005, he even played with BB King and BB King named one of the biggest guitar players that he ever knew and played with.-
Cool stuff..The Elevators lp really cheap or good price ? There’s $20 cheap then there’s $200 cheap lol I paid $10 for a OG Easter and Sold it for $700. He thought that was a good price so to each his own right. Nice Amon Duul I would make a offer on that .. dang I was hoping you had a OG Holden! Close but no cigar as they say haha .. rare Japanese? As long as your willing to spend $50-100 those Satori are pretty easy to score.
Would u be interested in selling the extra Stooges & VU LPs ? all these years , and I've never scored a copy of that VU LP, so at this point I'll take it any way i can get it ! That Stooges LP has passed thru my collection many time cuz I grew up in the Detroit/ Ann Arbor areas, but Ive traded or given it away time & again , thinking that it would always be around....silly rabbit, i know haha. please let me know. Thanks! i really dig yr channel btw....
Flower Travellin Band... just keep showing it...#Jealous. I do not need an original... I need to locate a really good deal on the reissue... I love Satori so much.. that song sings to my soul.
No you need the original Japanese press. I had a reissue and it paled in comparison to my og Japanese in every way, there was no contest when it came to sound quality, packaging and pressing quality.
Amazing that you found all of those. A bunch I'm not familiar with. Flower Travellin' Band Satori is a phenomenal album. Magma is great as well. You don't just have a record collection you have a museum! Ha!
Another video with the catch phrases "unbelievable", "incredible", and "blows my mind". Overuse those words much? JK! Your videos are almost always very interesting...
You just held up three or four very rare records that cost $300 - $500 each in nice shape before your ass was born. They are $1,000 buys these days. Then you say you got a great deal on them. Someone is either joking or damn crazy?
How many Dead LPs do you have? That Uruguay blues band looks really cool. The 13th floor Elevators are a really cool band. I have a mono and stereo reissue. Pugsley Munion looks really cool. I have seen Armageddon. I don't have a copy of The Stooges. I love Amon Düül. I have also been looking for The Animated Egg. Randy Holden looks really cool. Need to check New and Improved. WHAT! OG Japanese press of the Flower Travilin Band! DAMN! Velvet Underground is up there in one of my favorite albums. YOU ARE SO LUCKY! Mighty Baby looks really cool. I have seen that Bowie one 5 times HAHA. Ash Ra Temple is so so good. I have seen it once for $10 VG+ didn't get it. That was before I knew what Krautrock was. That Kinks record has a cool label. I have been looking for that Magma record. So many awesome finds. Cool video - Dylan
Here's what I say about this finding the impossible records it depends on where you live I have noticed you Have Blues Magoo's albums and up here in Maine where I live I see them somewhat 2-3 times a year but they are in fair condition but they can be found I have seen The 13TH Floor Elevators albums up here but the collector I saw wanted an arm,leg & the first born so that's ain't gonna happen lol I'm glad to see a young man such as yourself enjoy the fine art of record collecting and also loving the music you collect Keep up the killer work you're doing I enjoy your video's a lot

That Ash Ra Temple is amazing. The drumming by Klaus Schultz is phenomenal.
Ash Ra Tempel one I would love to come across in any form. Of course a ‘71 German Ohr press would be killer. Outstanding finds all the way around here man.
I have the clear red copy of the 13th floor elevators record that sundered put out some years back. Absolutely love that record!
