The one thing is wonder about this game, is in world, how does talion look to everyone else. It is apparent that the wraith is invisible to most everyone, so how does talion himself appear? I doubt anyone can see the Ors glowing eyes, so that appears to be a talion only thing. No one notices you in the dark when you become all glowy (slipping into the spirit world) so i take it you just appear like normal talion at this time. When you do the wraith stun, im sure it just looks like you hit/pushed the orc. I guess where i am trying to get with this is that Talion must look hella intimidating. I take it that his bow and arrows are invisible too, so people are just dropping around him with holes in their heads. When he does that wraith combo, i imagine he just appears as a blur. When Talion bursts an orcs head from afar, they just see the head explode. The only argument against this is the fact that the orc mention him as being related to blue fire, meaning that somehow, some of the spirit blue energy is visible. It is just curious as to how much.

The Black Hand incapacitates him with a spell that also restores the last of Celebrimbor's memories, then kills himself as part of a ritual that pulls Celebrimbor from Talion's body and forces him to merge with the Black Hand. This allows Sauron to possess the Black Hand's body and incarnate in physical form. However, Celebrimbor is able to briefly paralyze Sauron from within, allowing Talion to destroy his physical form. With the Black Hand dead, Celebrimbor wishes to depart for Valinor, but Talion convinces him to stay and attempt to overthrow Sauron. Gazing at Mount Doom, Talion declares his intention to forge a new Ring of Power. So that's pretty much it .. and its also a great start if they plan to make a second game ;P
The game followed the book very nicely filling up some gaps and making the character of Celembribor very interesting. For now I am pleased but we all expect a sequel. I hope they stay like this; going by the book and the movies. If there is a sequel Talion/Celembribor have to be seperated so that things can go according the book. Fantastic game (combination of AC and Arkham Games but that's no problem) the story was interesting. Celembribor is a badass.
I honestly thought the ending was satisfying and did have some incentive to buy the next game (Which we all know is coming.) Calebrimbor's wraith plot twist at the end kinda got me too. Thought the battles should have been a little bigger for all that space that they used at the black gate but it was a very cool ending. Talon's closure comes in a sequel guys, and that's not a bad thing. I also liked the add in of a very small cast of side characters, while Talion and Calebrimbor being left to chat alone during the fighting and traveling around Mordor. Big props to Monolith for the story.
Quick time final boss fight.... really? All this build up to this "Black Hand" character and he somehow turns into Sauron at the end and he dies from a quick time event. Nice.
@Marvel, no, Sauron wasn't an elf, but he disguised like one. Sauron held many forms, and in the Second Age he held the from of an elf, called Annatar, Lord of Gifts and he claimed to be good/ with the elves and decieved them.
Nate King The wizards were Istari, which are lower leveled than maia which are pretty much gods. Sauron was pretty much a demi god and one of the less relevant ones, only being the second in command after being corrupted by evil to the first dark lord. He's a trickster god really.
Actually my friend the Istari or an order not a race. They are Maias in mortal bodies sent to Middle-Earth to aid the people in their fight against Sauron. So yes while in that form they are not at their full power or abilities they are still Maia in creation and will return to their original forms once their tasks are done in Middle-Earth.
They had already said they got their parkour inspiration off assassins creed cause they were fans of the series. Ubisoft almost sued them over it but monolith had coded it themselves but it was buggy and Ubisoft gave some details on parkour coding. Otherwise SoM would be a 2015 release most likely. Also the people who worked on batman did NOT help at all on this game. The arkham series fighting system is in other, older games but was perfected in arkham city.

For those complaining about the boss battle, the date for the game was moved up so Monolith Productions had to finish the game up quick, thus resulting in a much smaller battle than what people were hoping for.
Finally the only persons playthrough that I've seen where they actually run towards the uruk army instead of standing a shooting arrows. I think the point of this mission was to make it feel like a battle in lord of the rings where you charge into an uruk army.
Two things bother me about the game .. 1. The story was short and the we should have had much more characters and big battles .. there was only one or two big battles ( not even big like in the LoTR movie. 2. Mirians are soo damn hard to get.

If this series goes non-canon it would be cool to see Sauron possess talion at the same time as celebrimbor, giving the player the option to become good or evil, they could add an evil skill chain that levels up your evil magic and makes kills more cruel and a good skill chain that makes kills faster and levels up your good magic, kinda like infamous, also it would be cool if you could build different armies such as a good human army who's eyes glow blue and an evil shadow army who's eyes glow orange. Finally the game would have to have two alternate endings.
All hint is there that Talion will become the new Dark Lord! I fucking loved the last couple of seconds of this game! Hopefully there will be a huge army for Talion and many dark, evil servants!

the Ending was really disappointing for me... the tower was a piece of cake the 5 guards of the tower were the same plus the lack of good cinematic and a REAL boss battle, i expected the final battle to be like lord of the rings where you get a lot of soldiers and big creatures (since i read the Ghaul or Graul or whatever that giant is called wasn't the largest creature in the game) instead i get in a tiny boat with the warchiefs and their guards only...why get the warchiefs in the first place than, just get really strong Orcs train them and done deal... for me invading a stronghold is wayyyy harder or helping a captain beat another captain in a fight off is a lot more action packed...plus why the hell can't we visit the Dwarf's place? why even mention it in the first place....or invite Talion to it...as for the black hand...i was looking forward to fighting that fucker instead i get QUICK FUCKING TIME EVENT....
The cinematics were good, but they were so easy. You only had to drain the Tower like 3 times, and the cinematic does the rest. And for the Hand you just gotta press a button a few times
Honestly, I expected Sauron to be that easy, for two reasons: he doesn't have the One Ring (so he's considerably weaker), and Celebrimbor was holding him back in all senses of the word (so Talion could destroy the body, making Sauron unable to hold a physical presence in it, and thus = easy target by comparison) And in all fairness, even when Sauron was at the peak of his power, One Ring and all, his fingers could still be severed from his bodily hand by a mortal man's sword strike. Honestly, imo, this ending just works out - not everything is resolved, and the cliffhanger leaves you wanting more of this alternate timeline.
"I tried fighting him, it can't be done" Except it was done, twice. Ar-Pharazon, King of Numenor brought such a mighty host that Sauron's armies fled and he was forced to surrender, if Ar-Pharazon hadn't been so arrogant it fould have ended there. And then the Last Alliance beat him again and if they had known the importance of the Ring again could have ended it.

I loved this game but the ending felt hurried and I couldn't believe it was a quicktime event. I think the game needed a few more different infantry types in the mix and a ridiculously hard combination of waves of enemies that would require you to use all the powers you had acquired, I had all the powers needed to defeat The Black Hand at the start of the game! Also, what the hell was The Tower playing at? What was his plan exactly?

The final bosses were dissapointing. The Hammer set the bar and the other two fell REAL short. We got a cenobite looking dude that you beat by sneaking up on him then a QUICKTIME boss and both go down in about 4 hits. Real sad there. The final orc fights were weird too. I'm glad I trained up some really badass guys but I thought I was bringing an army, not some dudes to a pub fight.
Soooo a sequel? I also wish they will make a Middle Earth game(LOTR game) with the concept of Elder Scrolls.Interaction with different races, the map of Middle Earth will be more epic than Tamriel like massive dungeons and mines with verticality and not just like Skyrim's linear dungeon. Fights with the creatures of Middle Earth, not just wolves and humanoid things.put in an all out war with Sauron and his army like in LOTR: the Return of The king. Add in companions depth and deep romance like a Bioware game and this could be the game of the century for RPGs.
man I can't even explain the sickness I felt when seeing my nemesis (uruk nemesis) at the start of the end mission, at the start of the game I ran into him by accident and pretty much died by not knowing how to fight a boss, after that I kept running into him untill he vanished, but I "killed" him about 14 times by the time he vanished! I swear I was so sick of running into him during missions or shooting a bonfire to a lone uruk that turns out to be him. then he was finally gone for the rest of the game. that is up until the end sequence where his ugly face oped up again (tough I have to admit it was kinda satisfying seeing he was half blind, had about no piece of his face or neck left that was not scared and burned) god that satisfaction when I saw his face flying in the air after I cut off his head. If anything they did a really good job on making a nemesis you will really hate to see and love to kill.
And some one help me out here is calimbrimbor gone now or is he gonna be in the next one also who's calibrimbor refering to by "i tried fighting him it can't be done" cause sauron just died or unless he's in the body of talion hint the ending glowing eyes color orange and another ring more power for sauron?
Boss fights aren't all about being hard there there for closer for an ending it fit this game to do that i think it went well i loved the game i don't care if there is a number 2 because its a good game so what if they want money every body wants more thats how this people pay there bills
Maybe the sequel could go all the way back to the Numenoreans when they first fought Melkor with the elves in the first age. That would be pretty cool, the first war of middle-earth, predating Sauron and the forging of the rings of power. Now that, would be cool

The games is making their own Universe, but that isn't surprising. The books aren't the same as the movies, at least not in all the details. So why not? My problem with this game is that it has no character development, everyone sort of expects Sauron to be Sauron as we know him. This game is pretty much what it sets out to be. A game to celebrate the same story with a bit of twist on it, just for the sake of the last Hobbit movie this year. If they are ever going to make other movies of the LoTR, then it's got to be something more than just what little we know. And if you read about this series a little more, there is a lot of strange things in the story that they can make into a game.
That was honestly the absolute worst way the developers could have handled a final boss fight. Beating the final boss of a game should feel like an accomplishment. It should be difficult for all of the right reasons and test the player on all of the abilities he has aquired over the course of a game. This was a quick time event it wasn't a boss fight calling it a boss fight is quite frankly pretty insulting. The problem I have is this kind of ending is becoming more common place I'm not saying quicktime events in general are bad. Heck, look at the quick time event to kill Poseidon in GoW 3, that was awesome but it came after a satisfying fight. Here there was no fight, only a single shameful quick time event that could have been beaten by a person who was just playing the game for the first time.
In my opinion, the boss has to be easy to be killed: because, with all the questions about celebrimbor, it needs more cinematic than fighting. I mean, you had the fighting for ALL the game! In the end, I just want to see the pieces of story linked

I loved the game, but the ending was so lame. I cut through those little battles in like under a minute and neither of the ending bosses were at all difficult. You would think a game with such great combat would have an actual challenging boss battle, not just some quick time event. and as for the orc on orc battles, I got into much larger fights on my own in the open world.

Mirians are fucking easy to collect, you just do the missions for the legendary weapons and outcast missions. You rack up Mirians pretty rapidly.
Not hard at all lol .. i finished the game with 5k more mirians than i needed ... :P

its a fusion of the two, whit a litlle of LOTR.
GG.. took me 36 hours to get thru (took some breaks).. Alot of grinding.. AC was def its biggest influence. Beating the game was satisfying.

the tower was a piece of cake the 5 guards of the tower were the same plus the lack of good cinematic and a REAL boss battle, i expected the final battle to be like lord of the rings where you get a lot of soldiers and big creatures (since i read the Ghaul or Graul or whatever that giant is called wasn't the largest creature in the game) instead i get in a tiny boat with the warchiefs and their guards only...why get the warchiefs in the first place than, just get really strong Orcs train them and done deal... for me invading a stronghold is wayyyy harder or helping a captain beat another captain in a fight off is a lot more action packed...plus why the hell can't we visit the Dwarf's place? why even mention it in the first place....or invite Talion to it...as for the black hand...i was looking forward to fighting that fucker instead i get QUICK FUCKING TIME EVENT....

The cinematics were good, but they were so easy. You only had to drain the Tower like 3 times, and the cinematic does the rest. And for the Hand you just gotta press a button a few times
Honestly, I expected Sauron to be that easy, for two reasons: he doesn't have the One Ring (so he's considerably weaker), and Celebrimbor was holding him back in all senses of the word (so Talion could destroy the body, making Sauron unable to hold a physical presence in it, and thus = easy target by comparison)
And in all fairness, even when Sauron was at the peak of his power, One Ring and all, his fingers could still be severed from his bodily hand by a mortal man's sword strike.
Honestly, imo, this ending just works out - not everything is resolved, and the cliffhanger leaves you wanting more of this alternate timeline.

Ar-Pharazon, King of Numenor brought such a mighty host that Sauron's armies fled and he was forced to surrender, if Ar-Pharazon hadn't been so arrogant it fould have ended there. And then the Last Alliance beat him again and if they had known the importance of the Ring again could have ended it.
The whole "new ring" thing sound BADASS! But isnt it destined to fail as sauron was defeated in the movies? Or is this not related to the books at all? Just an alternate universe in the same setting?

Aye but from this game apparently he can use the celebrimbor's power to allow him to use a body. I have a feeling that Sauron will become a big eye at the conclusion of the next hobbit film, so these games are probably separate any way.

I loved this game but the ending felt hurried and I couldn't believe it was a quicktime event. I think the game needed a few more different infantry types in the mix and a ridiculously hard combination of waves of enemies that would require you to use all the powers you had acquired, I had all the powers needed to defeat The Black Hand at the start of the game! Also, what the hell was The Tower playing at? What was his plan exactly?

I am a little confused on the whole "glowing eyes" thing at the end, when the wraith got himself traped in Sauron did like a part of sauron stay with him or something like that, therefore corrupting the wraith and Talrian, i believe his name is?- if someone could possibly explain that would be great thanks :)

The final bosses were dissapointing. The Hammer set the bar and the other two fell REAL short. We got a cenobite looking dude that you beat by sneaking up on him then a QUICKTIME boss and both go down in about 4 hits. Real sad there. The final orc fights were weird too. I'm glad I trained up some really badass guys but I thought I was bringing an army, not some dudes to a pub fight.
Just to clear things up, at the end Talion and Celimbrimbor dont kill Sauron, they killed Saurons assistent The black hand.

I also wish they will make a Middle Earth game(LOTR game) with the concept of Elder Scrolls.Interaction with different races, the map of Middle Earth will be more epic than Tamriel like massive dungeons and mines with verticality and not just like Skyrim's linear dungeon. Fights with the creatures of Middle Earth, not just wolves and humanoid things.put in an all out war with Sauron and his army like in LOTR: the Return of The king. Add in companions depth and deep romance like a Bioware game and this could be the game of the century for RPGs.
man I can't even explain the sickness I felt when seeing my nemesis (uruk nemesis) at the start of the end mission,
at the start of the game I ran into him by accident and pretty much died by not knowing how to fight a boss,
after that I kept running into him untill he vanished, but I "killed" him about 14 times by the time he vanished!
I swear I was so sick of running into him during missions or shooting a bonfire to a lone uruk that turns out to be him.
then he was finally gone for the rest of the game.
that is up until the end sequence where his ugly face oped up again (tough I have to admit it was kinda satisfying seeing he was half blind, had about no piece of his face or neck left that was not scared and burned) god that satisfaction when I saw his face flying in the air after I cut off his head. If anything they did a really good job on making a nemesis you will really hate to see and love to kill.

Boss fights aren't all about being hard there there for closer for an ending it fit this game to do that i think it went well i loved the game i don't care if there is a number 2 because its a good game so what if they want money every body wants more thats how this people pay there bills

Maybe the sequel could go all the way back to the Numenoreans when they first fought Melkor with the elves in the first age. That would be pretty cool, the first war of middle-earth, predating Sauron and the forging of the rings of power. Now that, would be cool

He hated the LOTR movies. By extension, that probably means he also hates all the other LOTR media (this game in particular would probably give him a stroke due to all the liberties it takes with Middle-earth lore) so yeah, he's gonna hold onto those First Age rights.

omfg the f***ing monster sound at 13:57 is so stupid, as well as the music transition at 26:56 now i'm not saying i could do better but they just seem like they didn't give a shit near the end of the game. Also, Talion never gets reunited with his family through death, why? because money that's why.
The games is making their own Universe, but that isn't surprising. The books aren't the same as the movies, at least not in all the details. So why not?
My problem with this game is that it has no character development, everyone sort of expects Sauron to be Sauron as we know him.
This game is pretty much what it sets out to be. A game to celebrate the same story with a bit of twist on it, just for the sake of the last Hobbit movie this year.
If they are ever going to make other movies of the LoTR, then it's got to be something more than just what little we know. And if you read about this series a little more, there is a lot of strange things in the story that they can make into a game.

That was honestly the absolute worst way the developers could have handled a final boss fight. Beating the final boss of a game should feel like an accomplishment. It should be difficult for all of the right reasons and test the player on all of the abilities he has aquired over the course of a game. This was a quick time event it wasn't a boss fight calling it a boss fight is quite frankly pretty insulting. The problem I have is this kind of ending is becoming more common place I'm not saying quicktime events in general are bad. Heck, look at the quick time event to kill Poseidon in GoW 3, that was awesome but it came after a satisfying fight. Here there was no fight, only a single shameful quick time event that could have been beaten by a person who was just playing the game for the first time.

In my opinion, the boss has to be easy to be killed: because, with all the questions about celebrimbor, it needs more cinematic than fighting. I mean, you had the fighting for ALL the game! In the end, I just want to see the pieces of story linked

You know, I think that there was no Celebrimbor's spirit in this game, it always was the Sauron)He is a master of tricks and illusions, so I guess it's logical)
I loved the game, but the ending was so lame. I cut through those little battles in like under a minute and neither of the ending bosses were at all difficult. You would think a game with such great combat would have an actual challenging boss battle, not just some quick time event. and as for the orc on orc battles, I got into much larger fights on my own in the open world.
